Religious Education - Programme Year Nine 2017 Semester 1 SEMESTER 1 Year 9 Please be very aware that many of the students will not have any Christian education, therefore it is important to gradually introduce some of the basic content. Start each lesson with a prayer there are prayers in their College Diary use these for the first few weeks. Teach the students how to do the Sign of the Cross, as many would never have done this. It is not necessary for students who are not catholic to participate in the Sign of the Cross; however it is very important that all students stand quietly and respectfully during prayer. There are great prayers related to each day of the year (including some history) on the internet The students must bring all basic equipment to each lesson this includes: Writing equipment, this includes a journal, pens, pencils etc. A display file, with their name clearly written on, this stays in the RE box somewhere in the classroom and should be used for assessments. Ipad College Diary this must be with the students at ALL times. Textbook- Come Follow Me Year 9 Student Resource The following programme is a GUIDE to the content you need to teach/focus on each week. There are example lessons and ideas of resources you can use, however, get to know your class, understand how they best learn, and come up with activities that suit your classroom. If you make any resources share them with the year 9 RE teachers and put those on share drive.
