www.tdayswrd.rg Unlcking the Pwer f Persnal Visin (Part II) Elder Ricard (Rick) M. Pina Sr. Faith Outreach Christian Life Center Bible Study, January 10 th, 2007 Intrductin: This lessn is the secnd part f a tw part series designed t equip the members f Faith Outreach Christian Life Center with the resurces they need t develp and maximize a persnal visin fr their lives in 2007. Review n visin: Visin is mre insight that it is sight. Visin is being able t see beynd where yur eyes can lk. Sight is cmmn, visin is rare. (1 st Cr 6:12 NIV) "Everything is permissible fr me" but nt everything is beneficial. "Everything is permissible fr me" but I will nt be mastered by anything. (1 st Cr 6:12 MSG) Just because smething is technically legal desn't mean that it's spiritually apprpriate. If I went arund ding whatever I thught I culd get by with, I'd be a slave t my whims. Just because yu CAN d smething, it des nt mean that yu shuld. Peple with visin knw what they shuld d and they fcus their effrts therein. Peple withut visin are peple that fail t perate in discipline, because they lack t the directin t make the right decisins. Example: Let s say a wman wanted t lse 20 lbs. this year. Hw des she establish her base fr mtivatin? She gets a picture a visin f herself 20 lbs. lighter. She then keeps that visin befre her whenever she is eating. Remember, I define discipline as the ability t make the prper decisins that will take yu twards a desired end. S, while she is eating, if she keeps the visin befre her and she allws the visin t becme the ruler by which she makes the decisins n what t and what nt t eat, then she wuld be perating in discipline and she wuld sme day arrive at her expected end. Nw, if she went int Glden Crral and paid $7.95, she wuld then have legal right t ALL the items n the buffet. But just because she CAN eat all the items n the buffet, it des nt mean that she shuld. If she keeps her visin befre her and she perates in discipline, she will avid the wrng fds, eat the right fds, and still remain n curse t arrive at her expected end. In this case, where there is n visin, the FOOD will perish! Sharing a Living Faith with a dying and decaying wrld. 1

What des a written visin prvide? A ruler by which t judge decisins. A guide fr yur family t fllw. A basis fr prayer. A visin enables yu t be fcused in yur prayer life. www.tdayswrd.rg A visin gives yu clarity n what t believe Gd fr. A visin enables yur entire family t cme tgether, putting faith pressure n Gd t pen drs, t bring t pass what yu are cllectively believing Him fr! Gals are steps tward a desired end. Dr. I.V. Hilliard says that visin shuld give birth t a plan and yur plan must have quantifying gals. A gal is a measurable bjective, nt a wishful thught. ***Nw, I will say that we must be careful nt t avid smething that Gd shws us, just because we dn t knw hw we will d it. Sme keys t remember abut visin: 1. Gd s visin will always extend yu beynd yur ability and yur cmfrt zne. 2. Gd s visin will always require His prvisin. 3. If the visin is nt big enugh t require Gd, then it prbably did nt cme frm Gd. 4. Never wrry abut hw yu will d it. If Gd gives yu the visin, He will release prvisin. 5. Yur jb is t: a. Believe it b. Receive it in yur heart c. Declare it with yur muth d. Step ut in faith fr it with yur actins! I define discipline as the ability t make the prper decisins that will take yu twards a desired end. Let s bring this all tgether: We must seek Gd fr ur purpse in life. Our purpse will give birth t Visin in several areas (family, finance, career, ministry, etc.). Each visin will give birth t the specific gals required fr cmpletin. The cllective gals will cme tgether as a plan actin. Finally, and mst imprtantly, discipline is required t make the prper decisins that will take yu twards yur expected end. Sharing a Living Faith with a dying and decaying wrld. 2

www.tdayswrd.rg 8 Steps t being Visin-Fcused in 2007: 1. Receive what yu believe is visin r insight frm Gd fr yu fr this year. Write this dwn in very clear terms. This will becme yur expected end fr 2007. 2. Envisin yurself becming r having what Gd has revealed t yu. 3. Develp quantifying gals that supprt the visin and break them up int categries. Fr example, I use: a. Spiritual Gals Where yu want t be in Gd this year What areas yu want t develp What areas need develping t supprt the visin b. Persnal Gals Hw the visin will drive decisins yu make persnally? What des it mean t yu and yur family? What changes will yu implement at hme because f the visin? c. Prfessinal Gals Hw will the visin affect yur career? What prfessinal changes will need yu t make? What will yu believe Gd fr prfessinally because f the visin? d. Financial Gals What will this visin d fr yur finances? Where are yu financially, as a family? Where will yu be by the end f the year and hw will this visin help? 4. Get faith in the areas yu will fcus n this year. Faith cmes by hearing and receiving the Wrd f Gd (Rm 10:17). Befre yu attempt t perate in faith, get faith by searching the scriptures that supprt yur visin and write them dwn. 5. Develp a persnal cnfessin with the scriptures yu researched and cnfess it at least weekly. This will help yu t build yur faith in these areas and it will als release the pwer f yur wn WORDS in yur life. If yu cnfess and believe, yu will receive (Rm 10:9,10). a. List the scriptures in an rder bear witness with yur spirit. b. Rewrd them t make them persnal. c. Cnfess them by faith. 6. Believe that yu CAN accmplish everything listed. Yu are nly limited by yur capacity t believe. 7. Envisin the peple whse lives yu will affect the mst: yur family, friends, the unsaved, etc. 8. Review yur visin at least weekly. Sharing a Living Faith with a dying and decaying wrld. 3

www.tdayswrd.rg What des the cnfessin d fr yu? Let lk at a cuple f things: 1. It brings yu speech in line with Gd: (Rm 10:9,10 KJV) That if thu shalt cnfess with thy muth the Lrd Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that Gd hath raised him frm the dead, thu shalt be saved. Fr with the heart man believeth unt righteusness; and with the muth cnfessin is made unt salvatin. The wrd translated cnfess in v.9 and cnfessin in v.10 is the same wrd. It is the Greek wrd hmlge. This is a cmpund wrd. It cmes frm hm, meaning the same as; and lge, where we get lgs, meaning the written Wrd. In this case, it is a reference t the written Wrd f Gd. When yu cnfess with yur muth yu are literally saying the SAME AS the Wrd f Gd cncerning whatever yu are cnfessing. When yu search scriptures that supprt yur visin fr 2007 and then penly declare them, believing that they will cme t pass in yur life, yu are literally AGREEING with Gd s Wrd cncerning these areas f yur life. Angels listen and respnd t the spken Wrd f Gd (Ps 103:20). Put yur angels t wrk and emply them t bring t pass Gd s visin fr yur life fr 2007. 2. It is a frm f prayer (cmmunicatin with Gd): James said f Elijah, Elijah was a man subject t like passins as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might nt rain: and it rained nt n the earth by the space f three years and six mnths (James 5:17 KJV). Nw, let s lk at Elijah s prayer. And Elijah the Tishbite, wh was f the inhabitants f Gilead, said unt Ahab, As the LORD Gd f Israel liveth, befre whm I stand, there shall nt be dew nr rain these years, but accrding t my wrd (1 st Kings 17:1 KJV). What did Elijah d? He made a declaratin f faith. He spke wrds, in faith, that he believed, and Gd backed them. James called this a prayer! *** This entire prcess helps bring rder and structure t yur life. It is hard at first if yu have never dne it, because yu are attempting t rganize yur life and t rule yur spirit. Slmn said, He that is slw t anger is better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city (Prverbs 16:32 KJV) What s the pint? It is easier t take a city than t rule yur wn spirit. It takes discipline, rder, structure, and faith. But the rewards are great! Clsing Cnfessin: Lrd Gd. I receive Yur Visin fr my life. I am Yur sheep and I hear Yur vice. Yu speak t me and I have an ear t hear what Yu are saying. I write it dwn and I make it plain fr my family. We all receive it tgether and we all endeavr t walk it ut by faith tgether. The visin is the ruler by which we judge decisins and it als prvides unity and harmny in my huse. We knw where we are ging and we will get there by faith. By the end f the year we will arrive at Yur expected end fr 2007 and we will be ne step clser t Yur verall end fr ur lives. We receive it, believe it, declare it, and step ut int it in 2007! In Jesus name. Amen! Sharing a Living Faith with a dying and decaying wrld. 4

Example f cnfessin making the scriptures persnal. www.tdayswrd.rg CONFESSION FOR PROTECTION Lrd Gd. Yu are a shield fr me. Yu are my glry, the lifter up f my head. (Ps 3:3). Lrd, in Yu and Yu alne d I put my trust. Yu save me frm all thse that persecute me, and deliver me (Ps 7:1). Yu Lrd, are my light and my salvatin; whm shall I fear? Yu Lrd, are the strength f my life; f whm shall I be afraid? (Ps 27:1). With all my heart I praise Yu, O LORD! I will never frget hw kind yu have been (Ps 103:2). Yu Lrd, frgive me f my sins, heal me frm all diseases, and prtect me frm death. Yur kindness and lve are crwns upn my head (Ps 103:3,4). Yu bring me justice, whenever I am mistreated (Ps 103:6). I live under the prtectin f the Mst High Gd and stay in the shadw f Gd, the All- Pwerful (Ps 91:1). I say t Yu Lrd, "Yu are my frtress, my place f safety; yu are my Gd, and I trust yu" (Ps 91:2). Yu Lrd, keep me safe frm secret traps and deadly diseases (Ps 91:3). Yu spread yur wings ver me and keep me secure. Yur faithfulness is like a shield r a city wall (Ps 91:4). I dn t need t wrry abut dangers at night r arrws during the day. Nr d I fear diseases that strike in the dark r sudden disaster at nn. Thugh thusands may fall arund me, I will nt be harmed. (Ps 91:5-7). With my wn eyes, I will see the punishment f the wicked. (Ps 91:8). Yu Lrd, the Mst High Gd, are my frtress and I run t Yu fr safety (Ps 91:9). N terrible disasters will strike me, nr my hme, because Yu Gd, will cmmand Yur angels t prtect me wherever I g (Ps 91:10,11). The angels will carry me in their arms, and yu wn't allw my feet t be hurt by the stnes (Ps 91:12)...Lrd, be it unt me, accrding t Yur Wrd. In Jesus name. Amen. Sharing a Living Faith with a dying and decaying wrld. 5
