This year, to celebrate our patronal feast day, we will begin our celebration with Fr. Ruse joining us for the 10:30 Mass on Sunday Sept. 16th then make a pilgrimage to the Diocesan Cathedral of Saint James in Orlando. After Morning Mass on Friday, September 21, (save the date!) we will travel by bus to the cathedral, where we will be able to go to confession and attend midday Mass. Lunch will be provided at the Cathedral, and then we will have the opportunity to tour both the cathedral and the chancery our diocesan headquarters if you will. There will be a fee of $20.00 per person to cover the cost of the bus and lunch. Watch for further information on when and how to sign up for this special trip. We will conclude the Celebration of our Feast Day on Sunday Sept. 23 with Bishop Noonan joining for the Sacrament of Confirmation at our 5:00 p.m. Mass. Lake Wales - Agape Mission Market 644 South 9th St, Lake Wales / 863.676.1556 Donations needed Catholic Charities Agape Mission Market in Lake Wales need donations. Please consider donating personal care items such as: tooth brushes, toothpaste, mouthwash, floss, hand soap, body wash, shampoo/conditioner, deodorant, feminine care products, toilet paper, diapers and baby wipes. Many of these items can be found in the travel aisle of your local Target, Publix or Walmart. Donations accepted on: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9-11 a.m. and 12-4 p.m. and Fridays, 5-7 p.m. Volunteers needed Catholic Charities is looking for individuals or groups (maximum of five) to sort and stock food donations. Volunteer shifts are on: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9-11 a.m. and 12-4 p.m. and Fridays, 5-7 p.m. Special Request * Perfume/cologne allergies. Several parishioners have mentioned that they have mild to severe sensitivities to perfume or cologne. If someone who is wearing perfume, cologne or fragrant lotion sits next to or near them at Mass, in some cases, the individuals have to move, leave church altogether, or spend their time in prayer feeling ill. Out of respect for these brothers and sisters of ours, please refrain from wearing perfume or cologne to church. We have cut back on the use of incense for this same reason and only use it for very special occasions, funerals being one of them.

Testimony, Adoration, Benediction Nights On Thursday, July 12, at 6 pm will be our first Testimony. Adoration. Benediction. Night Or TAB Night. These nights will introduce one person who will come and share their faith testimony with us and then have an opportunity to worship our Lord together. There will be light refreshments in the disciples corner afterwards. These will occur every other month and although our target audience will be Youth and Young Adults, all are welcome to join us. Hope to see you there! July 9-15 July 16-22 July 23-29 MONDAY 9 - St. Augustine 7:00 - Knights of Columbus Meeting Fr. Saintmcc.formed.org Can I Say a Prayer with You? If you are in need of prayer our Prayer Ministers are available after all of our weekend Masses by the Holy Family Statue. We ask that you wait until the conclusion of the recessional Hymn before joining them by the Holy Family Statue. Again, I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything for which they are to pray, it shall be granted to them by my heavenly Father. For where two or three gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. Matthew 18:19-20 The Prayer Shawl Ministry has been busy knitting and crocheting prayer shawls and lap robes. A basket in the chapel has a colorful selection of these shawls. All the shawls have been prayed over and once finished, they have been blessed. Please feel free to stop by and select one for an ill or convalescing family member. If you have any questions, please call the office. Saintmcc.formed.org

Did you know? Your gifts to Our Catholic Appeal help bring comfort to the sick. Those involved in the pastoral care of the sick and homebound provide a healing presence of Christ through compassionate listening and prayer to ensure that those unable to be physically present with their faith community remain connected and supported. Ministers who bring Holy Communion to the sick and homebound bring the Real Presence of Christ and the Church community to those who cannot attend the celebration of Mass. Your gifts to Our Catholic Appeal enable our diocese to support this ministry and provide training and continuing education opportunities.
