Nehemiah: Building Through The Spirit

We re glad you ve chosen to worship with us today.

Transcription:

It seems that on a regular basis, America is faced with tragic incidents such as what happened in Parkland, Florida last week. Emotions range from heartbrokenness, sadness, tears, hopelessness, to anger and rage, and others. As Christians, what comfort can we offer? At times, we question and say, are we doing enough? The Holy Spirit saw this day when He inspired Paul to write; So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable, always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless. I Cor. 15:58 NLT What this age must see and experience from the Christian community is genuine, heartfelt, compassionate action and a loving yet firm, spoken message. We are given an exhortation at the conclusion of a chapter where Paul writes about subjects such as: the crucified and resurrected Lord, our hope and assurance of salvation, our last enemy, our final victory, the rapture and glorious body. This is a powerful list of promises accomplished for those who believe in and have been converted to Christ. We are then challenged with, THEREFORE! in other words, in view of what I ve told you in this paragraph let us be Strong (steadfast) fixed in direction, steady, directed, firm in purpose, faith, attachment, unwavering; as opposed to the winds of doubt and opposition. Let us be Unmovable fixed, determined, anchored; as opposed to drifting in commitment and determination. Let us always be Abounding (overflowing) in the work of the Lord; finding the place of service, assistance and Spiritual contribution, as opposed to apathy and lethargy. Knowing (being absolutely sure) that our labor is not in vain, without real significance, value, worth, importance, or without effect or purpose. We have a story to tell, a message to declare, a life to live out to a world that is lost, broken, bruised and battered; let us do it with all our might. BISHOP DANNY NELSON
