Chairperson F.C. Chairperson Dear Family, We are now starting the cold/flu season and we all need to be aware of health dangers. It is because of this concern that many people have asked me to consider to help all of us to keep healthy. Starting December 21 st, we will be suspending offering the common cup during weekend masses. We will return offering the cup come Spring. Another way of transmitting the virus and or germs is during the exchange of peace during the Mass. There are a variety of ways to show and pass on the peace to those around you without touching the person. Please use your common sense, especially if you are dealing with illness. There will be three communion ministers at mass. Two at the communion stations and one in the center. Starting January 2015, all communion ministers simply sign in for the mass you attend. The volunteers who arrive at the Mass will serve if there are spaces left. No calendars will be given out. Peace to all the family during this joyous season, Fr. Tony ADVENT DEVOTIONS ALL INVITED... The parish life/evangelization prayer group will meet every Thursday starting December 10 th and will be sponsoring an Advent Journey to Christmas. This is a journey that starts in our hearts and ends at the humble manger. There is no cost for this journey. Come for fellowship and refreshments each week. This Advent, break out of your routine, hold back nothing, and really prepare spiritually for Christmas. Advent is the shortest but most beautiful season of the Church year. Make the most of it! As the Lay Coordinator of Homebound Ministry here at Ss. Peter and Paul s, I would like to re-introduce myself to my fellow parishioners. I welcome anyone who needs the Eucharist brought to them, and/or would appreciate a home visit to contact me at 609-8431, or the Parish office at 435-7548. We have a growing number of homebound parishioners, and it would be our pleasure to serve you through this ministry. -Barb Van Den Busch 2 Please remember to stay warm and safe during this upcoming freezin season!

Sacred Space Reminder The church is a place of prayer both private and public and, most importantly, sacred. We would like to remind those who like to socialize and visit before or after mass that this is offensive to some people who are looking for some quiet time of prayer. Community is important as a part of a faith family, so we welcome you to converse in the Father Schuh and Fatima Halls, or outside if weather permits. Thank you for your gracious cooperation! NEW Community Shelter Meal Saints Peter & Paul Parish serves a meal the 3rd Saturday of every month at the NEW COMMUNITY SHELTER for those in need. Volunteers are needed to prepare and serve meals. Call Caroline at 468-1177. "So your strength is failing you? Why don't you tell your mother about it?... Mother! Call her with a loud voice. She is listening to you; she sees you in danger, perhaps, and she your holy mother Mary offers you, along with the grace of her son, the refuge of her arms, the tenderness of her embrace... and you will find yourself with added strength for the new battle." --St. Josemaria Escriva LITURGICAL UPDATE 2015 It's time for updating and renewing your preferred ministry. Fr. Tony will be offering a renewal event for all current lay ministers. Someone from the Diocesan Worship Office will conduct the 2 hr. session for all interested people. It is highly recommended that if you have been in a particular ministry for over three years you are asked to consider stepping out for a year in order to foster new talent and renew your heartfelt dedication and spirit of service. Currently we are calling all interested persons 18yrs and older who have received their adult sacraments to one of a variety of ministries. Such ministries include: lectors/readers at weekend or weekday masses, extra-ordinary ministers of Holy Communion for weekends and special events, ministry of hospitality/ushers, ministry of music/instrumentalist, singers under the direction of Roger Bader, Ministry of Care; visits to the home bound, nursing and assisted living facilities under the direction of Barb Van Den Busch. Please call the office if you are interested in any of these ministries. We will be scheduling training sessions coming this January. New Ministries for 2015 -Young Adult group being formed.
