Drea came to St. Paul s in 2009, and in his six year tenure has been an instrumental driving force for the Parish, Harvard Catholic Center and St. Paul s Choir School. He has led this unique parish with grace and joy to become the vibrant soul of Catholic Faith in Harvard Square. Join us following Mass for a reception in DiGiovanni Hall as we wish Fr. Drea well as he begins his new role as Pastor at St. Ann s and St. Brendan s in Neponset, and thank him for the steadfast support he has shown and given to St. Paul s. ADVENT AT ST. PAUL S SAINT VINCENT DE PAUL GIVING TREE The Saint Vincent de Paul Giving tree is in the Church front vestibule. The tree is decorated with angels which contain the name and pertinent information for a gift to be given to a family in need; the small envelopes are for donations to help fund the work that this most important organization does for our needy brothers and sisters in Christ. Please be as generous as your means will allow. Unwrapped gifts, with the SVDP identifying tag, may be left in the parish center office by noon ON or BEFORE SUN- DAY, DEC. 13. CHRISTMAS FLOWER DONATIONS It has long been the custom here at St. Paul s to request donations to help defray the cost for the plants and flowers that grace our beautiful church during the Advent and Christmas seasons. Volunteers are needed to bring food: main dishes, vegetable dishes, desserts, fresh fruit, sandwiches, juices & cookies. Volunteers are also needed to help set up, serve and clean up. We will also be taking donations for warm hats, scarves, gloves, tube socks (all new). Donations can be brought to the church kitchen on Wednesdays from 9:00am to 12:00pm, or left at the front desk before Wednesday. HOLY LAND SALE St. Paul s Holy Land Gift Sale will take place this weekend, DECEMBER 5 AND 6 in the Vestibule of the upper Church before and after all the Masses. All proceeds will help to support families of artisans from greater Bethlehem, Palestine and our Partner Parish, Our Lady of Fatima. These gifts are hand fashioned products made for generations by Christian artisans. Lord, clarify my vision that I may see You in others and sense You within my own soul.

DECEMBER 6, 2015 CHECK OUT WHAT S HAPPENING AT ST. PAUL S SOLEMNITY OF THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION - HOLY DAY OF OBLIGATION Tuesday, December 8, 2015 is the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception, a holy day of obligation. Mass times are: Vigil at 5:15pm on Monday, December 7 and on Tuesday, December 8 at 8:00am, 12:10pm and 5:15pm. MAGNIFICAT YEAR OF MERCY Please find in the vestibule of the Church copies of the Magnificat Year of Mercy Companion booklet. Please enjoy a copy. 5:00 PM UNIVERSITY COMMUNITY MASS The Sunday, December 13th, 5:00pm University Community Mass will be the last Student Mass for the semester. Please look to bulletin for a restart date in January. FOOD PANTRY The food pantry wishes to acknowledge several generous donations. The choir school had another successful concert in partnership with Music for Food to support the food pantry. The Freemasons Mount Olivet Lounge purchased and delivered rotisserie chickens for Thanksgiving again this year. The children of St. Mary Orthodox Church made festive bean soup gifts to distribute to the food pantry customers for the holidays. Hope and Comfort, a non-profit organization that distributes soap and similar hygiene products through local food pantries, made a special donation of cosmetic gifts for the holidays. Finally, we are grateful for all of the donors and volunteers who keep the food pantry operating every week. ST. PAUL S GIVING KIOSK Don t forget about the St. Paul s Giving Kiosk - located in the vestibule! The device offers parishioners, and visitors, a means by which to make offertory donations via credit card. All donations made through the kiosk are credited to parishioner accounts. The group will meet each Wednesday during Advent (December 9, 16, and 23) at 10:00 a.m. in Room 202 of the Parish Center. A cookie exchange will also take place at the December 16 meeting. Bring three dozen of your favorite Christmas cookies to share, as well as a container to transport others' baked goods home with you! SOCIETY OF THE PROPAGATION OF THE FAITH As part of the annual Missionary Co Operative Program, Mrs. Maureen Crowley Heil, will speak at all Masses the weekend of December 12 and 13 about the Society of the Propagation of the Faith, one of the four Pontifical Mission Societies represented here in the Archdiocese of Boston. She will share her experience in the missions with us as a way to raise awareness about the need to spread the Good News to the more than one billion people in the world who have yet to hear it proclaimed. The Society of the Propagation of the Faith is the official mission agency of the Church dedicated to educating men and women in the missions who would like to answer a religious call but cannot afford to because of their poverty. They thank you in advance for your prayers and support. CARING FOR THE SOUL Caring For The Soul, Faith in Recovery is a group dedicated to mutual support and encouragement drawing on prayer and spirituality as positive resources in the struggle with mental illness in our own lives and the lives of those we love. The group is led by Dr. Nancy Kehoe, RSCJ. We meet the first Monday of, in room 202 in the parish center at 5:30. We meet the first Monday of every month.
