BASIC BIBLE COURSE 01 (BBC01) - COVENANT Basic Bible Course is a layman's course on understanding the Bible. It consists of a series of modules or themes designed to simply and practically summarize the material present in a formal Bible training program. Module 1 is titled "Covenant". Covenant is the master concept that unlocks the meaning of the Bible. The Bible tells the story of God the Father s love for His children and His plan to gather all people into one holy family. God reveals this plan of salvation through a series of covenants, culminating in the New Covenant He makes in Jesus. The goal is to enable participants to gain an understanding of the essential significance of the covenant concept for understanding the Bible and God s fatherly plan. BASIC BIBLE COURSE 01 (BBC01) - COVENANT TOPIC 1 - THE PLAN OF GOD CREATION ADAM & EVE To gain an understanding of the plan of God for His creation as mentioned in Ephesians 1:9-10. TOPIC 2 - TRUE NATURE OF MAN: GOD'S DWELLING To be able to know the true nature of man as attested in a person's name, in different branches of science, in scriptures and in the teaching of the church. CREATION ADAM & EVE - image and likeness of God Fall of Man TOPIC 3 - SABBATH To learn the true meaning of sabbath. 7 Days TOPIC 4 - HUMAN VALUES To learn the meaning of temptation, sin, consequences of sin, values and two views in life; things that explains tragic human limitations that arise from life in a fallen world. God rested on the 7th day - Sabbath TOPIC 5 - DYNAMICS OF SIN AND GRACE To be able to understand man's struggle in doing/not doing what is good and in allowing/refusing to do what is not good. "For I do not do the good I want, but I do the evil I do not want." -Rom. 7:19

Cain and Abel TOPIC 6 - TOWARD THE OLD COVENANT 1. To learn the relevance of God s covenants for understanding the Bible. 2. To understand the difference between "contract" and "covenant". 3. To learn the meaning of the first three covenants and to see their relationship with the new covenant of Jesus Christ. 4. To read Genesis with understanding. NOAH 5. To begin to understand the "patterns" of biblical history.

MOSES TOPIC 7 - THE OLD COVENANT 1. To read the Books of Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy with understanding. 2. To understand God s covenant with Israel at Sinai and to see how this covenant is fulfilled in the New Covenant of Jesus Christ. 3. To appreciate the key figures and events - Moses, the Passover, and the vocation of Israel as a "kingdom of priests".

JESUS TOPIC 9 - THE NEW AND EVERLASTING COVENANT THROUGH JESUS CHRIST TOPIC 8 - EXPERIENCE OF ISRAEL 1. To finish reading the Old Testament (from Joshua to Malachi) and to read with understanding. 2. To understand the broad outlines of the history of Israel. SOLOMON DAVID SAUL DIVIDED KINGDOM 1. To read the New Testament with understanding. 2. To understand how the New Testament portrays Jesus as the fulfillment of the covenants of the Old Testament. 3. To appreciate the crucial importance of God's everlasting covenant with David. TOPIC 10 - EXPERIENCE OF THE CHURCH, THE MYSTICAL BODY OF CHRIST 1. To gain an understanding of the history of the church that started with Jesus Christ and continues straight through to today. TOPIC 11 - WITNESSING INDIVIDUAL CHRISTIANITY AND DYNAMIC CHRISTIAN LIFE TREE OF LIFE 1. To reflect on one's own 'covenant' with God by understanding stages of growth and development and observing the pattern in life when God is present and/or absent. 2. To learn the importance of 'witnessing' to the Gospel. 3. To learn about one's participation in the the offices of Jesus namely: King, Priest and Prophet and to apply it in one's life in a dynamic way. TOPIC 12 - THE LAST THINGS 1. To gain an understanding on life direction and the last things that will take place in our earthly life.
