Last month I was commenting about the rains and now we are into a hot dry spell, praying for rain to help the farmers out with their crops. June has been an extremely busy month for the Assembly. Let me start this report by thanking all of you that participated in so many of the activities that our Assembly was involved with. I especially want to thank our Faithful Captain Tim Lauriault and Faithful Commander Dan Orawski for all the exceptional work they did in organizing and delivering our annual June BBQ. Everything was outstanding and I have no reservations in saying that everyone enjoyed a wonderful meal and fraternal time. Thank you again for all your efforts. A great big thank you to all the Sir Knights that have been so busy with our Colour Corp this past month. A special thanks to Sir Knight Dan Orawski Lead Commander for the organization and attendance at these events, especially the Blessing of the Sword Ceremony which took place on June 4 th at St. Anthony s Maronite Church in Leamington. Our Executive elections at our May General Meeting went very well and I thank all the Sir Knights that stood for positions and look forward to working with you this coming fraternal year. Worthy Sir Knights, Faithful Admiral s Report Congratulations to Fathers Michael O Brien, Pat Fuerth and Michael Parent on celebrating 50 years in the Priesthood. Our color Corp was honoured to be a part of the Celebration. One exemplification has taken place in London this past May with approximately 17 new Sir Knight s exemplified into our Order. The next Exemplification will be held October in Essex and there is no better time than now to join the 4 th Degree. Speak to your 3rd Degree Members and offer them the opportunity to become Sir Knight s. Fr. Louis Boué will pay the Registration cost of every new Candidate who wishes to join our Assembly. It was great to enjoy the fellowship this past Saturday at our June Barbeque. The steaks were great. This being our last bulletin till September have a happy healthy and safe summer. Fraternally and Patriotically, Sir Knight Larry Everaert Faithful Admiral, PGK, PFN.continued from Faithful Navigator s report I had the pleasure of attending the 39 th Exemplification in London on May 27 th when 17 new members joined the ranks of the 4 th degree. I am looking forward to our next exemplification on October 28 th, 2017 in Essex where I pray that our numbers will be much higher. Please take the opportunity to invite 3 rd Degree members in your respective councils to come join our Assembly. From Lady Rose and myself, we wish all of you a safe and enjoyable summer, as we look forward to seeing all of you again during this upcoming fraternal year. Faithful Captain s Report Sir Knights and Ladies, I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their support over this fraternal year. The events we had this year were, our 2 pot luck dinners, our May dinner meeting and of course our Christmas and June BBQ they were all well attended. The June BBQ attendance, we had 97 Sir Knights, Ladies and guests. I would like to thank SK s. Kevin Klinck, Paul Peltier, Deacon Leonard, and Dan Orawski for all their help with making this a successful event, it is greatly appreciated. I wish everyone a safe and wonderful summer. Fraternally, SK Tim Lauriault, PGK Faithful Captain Sir Knights, Set aside the time this summer to talk to a brother knight or two about the benefits of joining the 4 th degree. It s not difficult. Talk about what you like yourself. Explain how their insight into the Order will expand as they meet new knights from other councils and develop more friendships just because they joined the 4 th degree. Of course, you should explain the benefits of the Colour Corps. VIVAT JESUS!!! Yours Fraternally and in Patriotism, R.A. (Reg) Campbell Faithful Navigator
.continued from Lead Commander s report Lead Commander s Report Sir Knight is more than a title, IT S AN HONOUR. Sir Knights, I would like to WISH ALL OF YOU a very Happy Father s Day, regardless if you are a new Father or a seasoned Father. It is such a tremendous responsibility to be a Good Father figure especially in these modern fast paced times, time is so precious so PLEASE spend time with your Children and, of course; your Spouse on a day dedicated to ALL FATHER S. To ALL the Sir Knights and Ladies of Our Assembly, I wish you ALL a very peaceful, relaxing, safe and enjoyable Summer. This is the time of the year when we really get busy with Colour Corps requests, I know that we are ALL BUSY but PLEASE try and attend as many as possible. Also, remember that it is so very important to attend any Visitations and Funerals, even if no Colour Corps or Honour Guard is requested; it means a lot to the Families. On May 28 th, we (some members of the Colour Corps) honoured a very dear friend of my Family s, Fr. Michael O Brian as he celebrated his 50 th year of Ordination with a special Mass at St. Anthony s in Harrow. I wish to THANK ALL the Sir Knights from Our Assembly who attended, especially Our Newest Colour Corps Member, Sir Knight Jamie Heyd as this was his first Colour Corps event with for Our Assembly. I would also like to Thank the Members of the other Assemblies that also attended. For months, I had advocated that we would be holding a BLESSING OF THE SWORDS ceremony and that it would be done after ALL the snow birds have returned so that we could get as many Members out as possible; then I thought that that would also be a great time for a Colour Corps photo op for our web site and bulletin, as it is in need of an update. We held both on June 4 th at St. Anthony s Maronite Catholic Church - the attendance was disappointing. I want to THANK the 12 Sir Knights who attended, we were ALL treated very well during the Mass and at the time of food and fellowship after the events. Monsignor Charles Saad was extremely happy with our presence as were the Parishioners. Lead Commander s report continued next. Also on June 4 th, at St. John the Baptist we had a request for Our Colour Corps Members to attend a Procession and Mass of one of the six the statues of the Virgin Mary that was blessed by the Pope. There was an early morning Procession into the Church and an early evening Procession out of the Church. I wish to THANK Sir Knights Alex Wade, Ron Amlin and Jamie Heyd for their help at both these times. I would also like to Thank the 3 Sir Knights from the Fr. Alvin P. Marentette Assembly for their assistance with the morning Procession; especially Sir Knights Gord Edwards and Phil Lykoff. We need NEW MEMBERS to bolster our ranks in not only the Assembly but also in the COLOUR CORPS - PLEASE CONSIDER ASKING SOME OF YOUR RESPECTIVE 3 rd Degree COUNCIL MEMBERS TO JOIN THE VISIBLE ARM OF THE KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS - the Patriotic 4th Degree. Once again, I ask YOU ALL to reply when I send out emails requesting Colour Corps Members, I am doing this on behalf of the Faithful Navigator, and not for my benefit but for the benefit of Our Assembly. I THANK ALL THOSE WHO ARE REPLYING - IT HELPS. Here is a recap of Our Colour Corps activities to date. May 9 th Tuesday evening, Honour Guard from 6:30PM until K of C prayers at 7:30 pm for Fr. Joseph Bagatto at Windsor Chapel - No Sir Knights attended. Comptroller s Report Good of the Order Sir Knights, I like warm weather but someone turned up the heat a little too much. That is what we need to do to clear up any members who still have outstanding balances. The audit is coming up and they must be cleared up as much as possible before the fraternal year end. We need all our members supporting our assembly to keep it a great assembly. Our general funds will end up being down a little and our lottery account, reserved for disposition payments, will be up from the last fraternal year. The chalice account is slightly more. We still need to keep an eye on things because you never can predict the future. We are safe and always will be if we do not ignore our funds. On another different note, we need to pray for our Catholic and other doctors who believe in the 10 commandments and in particular the 5 th one. Ontario passed a law that all doctors must help or refer patients wanting to kill themselves. It is wrong making them participate in any form the killing of another human being disguising it as assisted suicide. It is still murder! Pray that the courts exempt any doctor from participating if they do not wish. Every country that has assisted suicide laws allows doctors to opt out due to religious convictions etc. Only in Ontario is the government forcing them to participate and any religious convictions is meaningless to them. I wish all our Sir Knights and their families a good summer and may everyone take care. God bless. Get Well Wishes cards GW cards that were mailed out since my last report.
