View it in your browser www.the1project.org March 25, 2017 // Issue 226 Dallas Fort Worth 1:1 April 28-29, 2017 Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) 1:1, a smaller-scale One project gathering based at the local church level, will be held April 28-29, 2017, at Arlington Seventh-day Adventist Church in Arlington, Texas. Beginning Friday evening at 7:00 p.m., this 24-hour event offers participants incredible presentations, worship, opportunities for discussion and fellowship, and special activities for teens and children. As with all One project gatherings, the intention of DFW 1:1 is to help people deepen 1
their relationship with Jesus and foster a profound, positive relationship with their community. The focus for DFW 1:1 is based on Luke 15. Featured speakers include: David Franklin, Tim Gillespie, and Lola Moore Johnston. Programs for kids DFW 1:1 offers generation One (ages 13-17) and TOP kids (ages 4-12) with TOP tots (ages 0-3) to help bring teens and children into a closer relationship with Jesus through fun and interactive activities and social events. Spaces are limited, so registration of children and teens is recommended before March 28. DFW 1:1 is hosted by Younger Generation Church [YG], the vibrant young adult ministry of the Arlington Seventh-day Adventist Church. Amazon Mission Trip: August 10-20, 2017 Join us in the Amazon jungle (city of Manaus, Brazil) August 10-20 to begin the foundational work for the school that will be built next summer in a collaborative effort with the Adventist universities in the North American Division and Brazil. Pastor Sam Leonor will be presenting daily devotionals to the team. Spaces are limited to 25 people. Important deadlines April 30: Final day to register interest. May 31: Non-refundable deposit of $100 due. June 30: Vaccination deadline and mission trip fee balance ($1,000) due. July 31: Submission of travel itinerary. August 10: Arrive in Manaus, Brazil. Who should join us? While we welcome all medical staff and any professionals with construction experience, this mission trip is for the whole family. The projects will be assigned based on skill set. There will be both building components and site clearing activities appropriate for adults and children, and there are several health clinics for those with medical expertise. Atlanta: October 21-22, 2017 Our first international gathering was in Atlanta (February 2011) with 172 people who became engaged and excited by the emphasis on Jesus. All. We will return to this area in October 2017, hosting our 30th gathering on the theme "Sola Scriptura." This gathering is unique in that it will take place at Maggiano's Little Italy and will provide both breakfast and lunch for the two days. San Diego: February 11-12, 2018 A two-day conference focused on developing a stronger faith in Jesus through community and conversation. One project gatherings bring hundreds of people together to worship, reflect on their spiritual journeys, and share insights, questions, and concerns with one another. The theme for this gathering is "Sanctuary." We will explore what it means for God to dwell in us. The gathering will be held at the Town and Country Resort and Convention Center in San Diego, California. Registration is open and hotel reservations will open soon.
