We are thankful for our Lord and His protection over us. We know that your many prayers have kept us strong and we will continue to put our trust and confidence in Him. We are thankful for your partnership with your prayers, love, and support. The cool weather is beginning to set in here, which is a good thing for me. The Lord has been opening many opportunities to serve in many ways. Here are some of the ways He has allowed us to serve in the month of May. We were blessed with the State Women s Retreat here in Rio Grande do Sul with more than seventy-five women attending. Juaneylla was blessed to be one of the speakers for the retreat along with three other ladies. I heard comments from the retreat from women who have attended many in different places and they commented on how this retreat was very special and could see God s presence in the fellowship and the messages. Praise God! Ju s theme was God cares for us and the retreat overall theme was God s care. We were blessed to host two of the sisters from Belo Horizonte with us. They are Marlenna e Marta. Marlenna also spoke at the retreat and invited Juaneylla also to speak at a National Women s meeting in September in Belo Horizonte. Pray that God continues to use the gifts He has given Ju to encourage and teach the word with the women here in Brazil. God gave us the opportunity this month as well to help out with the LST (Let s Start Talking) team that was from Lubbock, TX. God gave me plenty of opportunities to translate and get to know the group as well as some of the readers. They were able to attend worship while

here with the churches from Lucas, Novo Hamburgo, and Agronomia. We had the opportunity as well to have them over to our house for supper and also a devotional together. It was different speaking in English for a good amount of time, but was very good and encouraging. They left the last Sunday of May and we had the opportunity to be with the church at Lucas to enjoy the time of fellowship in worship, and in a meal together afterwards. It was very encouraging for the church at Lucas. The youth group also this past month was blessed to visit the house of Barbosa and Santa and have a singing devotional with them. Barbosa has been suffering much with his cancer and has lost strength, but continues to give all he has for the Lord. He had the time also to give a word of encouragement to the youth to continue and persevere in the Lord. The youth also had the opportunity to visit the church in Novo Hamburgo and to lead the service. Guilherme Castello and Guilherme Signoretti lead the Lord s Supper and Ryan lead singing. God gave me the opportunity to preach. We are thankful for the families of Renato,

Regis, Valeria, and Valquiria who help with the youth. We all had the privilege to go together in the school bus that Renato drives. It was encouraging to be singing on the way to Novo Hamburgo and back as well. The church in Novo Hamburgo was very encouraged and enjoyed the time of fellowship in the morning. Lord willing, we will be going to Viamao this month as well. The study with the young adults at the university continues to go well and Lord willing before long they will want to o bey the gospel of our Lord. There are many youth in Novo Hamburgo who have not yet given their lives to the Lord. Pray that they may be encouraged to put the Lord first in their lives. We were blessed also with another wonderful couple s meeting this month. The message was Walking together in the Lord. Marcio, who is a brother who recently moved back to Porto Alegre, gave the message. He had the opportunity where he was before to help with couple s as well. They have been attending here and at Teresopolis. We were also happy that Daiana s husband Rodrigo came for the first time. This is wonderful. She said that will be the first of many. We

had the event at a room at Flavio and Andreia s apartment. Talking about Andreia, be praying for her, we are excited to know that she is pregnant. As you know, this past year, she had a miscarriage and complications, and praise God that she fully recovered and the doctor had given her the clear to have a child. We also had a wonderful Mother s day with the church family at Agronomia. The church has also had many that have been suffering physically, mainly because of the cooler temps, and so we have been praying and visiting them as well. Please continue in prayers for Alcides, who is having exams on his stomach as well as heart problems, Natalina who is in the hospital unresponsive at this time, and Vanda who has been having problems with her feet and legs. We are here to serve our Lord and He has been giving us many different ways to serve. We continue taking the Word to the lost, teaching the Word for growth spiritually, and serving in any way we can to glorify our Lord. It is only be His grace we have these opportunities.

Ju and I also celebrated our 12 th wedding anniversary this month. We enjoyed the time together and after church Sunday night we went and ate with some brothers and sisters at a pizzeria in Canoas. We are so blessed and thank the Lord for these many years, and that He blesses with many years to come as well. We thank the Lord for our two wonderful girls that He has given us. Our girls have been serving and helping in various ways to glorify our Lord. We also had the opportunity to meet Giu, who will be going to the Unites States to play soccer. She has been taking English classes with Ju and I have been helping her with her documents. She was preparing for the SAT. We also were happy to have in our house Leonel and gave him the opportunity to preach and teach while he was here for the church. Continue praying for him and his family as they are selling their place here to buy in Campo Grande. We were also happy to have our friends Miqueias and Rubia from Brasilia. We thank God for the opportunities to serve. We are so thankful that the Lord has allowed this partnership with you through your prayers, love, and support. We pray that you are encouraged as well of what the Lord is doing through your partnership with us. Ju and I are humbled and thankful because of our great God and the family of God He has given us.
