Sunday, November 12, 2017 Welcome Friends and Guests NEW SVUMC OFFICE HOURS: 9 a.m. until 2 p.m., Monday through Friday. As we gather, greet those friends and guests around you. Please be sure to sign the attendance register. A register is located in each pew. If you would like to receive our weekly news, be sure to enter your email address. If you are a new visitor, we would enjoy knowing a little about you, so please complete a Contact Card that you will find in the pew pocket in front of you and place it in the offering plate. Hearing receivers and large print hymnals are available from the ushers. Operation Christmas Child Mission - Christmas shoeboxes should be returned to Fellowship Hall today. Recycled cards will be sold after the 7:30 and 9:00 services today. Christmas and Thanksgiving cards are available. If you can t get your cards at that time, they are always available in room 5. Make a selection and put the money in the bag or in the cupboard. Proceeds go to UMW Missions. Sierra Vista United Methodist Women are having a jewelry sale today between services and after the 10:30 service in Fellowship Hall. Worship Committee, Monday, Nov. 13 at 5:00 p.m. in the Serenity Room. Finance Committee, Monday, Nov. 13 at 6:30 p.m. in the Serenity Room. The Naomi Circle will be meeting on Tuesday, November 14 at 9:30 a.m. in the Serenity Room. Kathy Marvin and Grace Farrington will be hosting. All are invited to join the SVUMC family for a Thanksgiving Potluck being held Thu., November 23 in the Activity Center. Serving will be at 1:00pm. The new season for POWWOW produce outreach begins Sat., November 18. Produce is available 7 10 a.m. Volunteers are always needed. We celebrate another successful Mission Store sale. Thanks to all of the workers, bakers and people who donated items to sell. The Salvation Army Angel Tree will be up in Fellowship Hall on Sunday, Nov. 19. This is the only Angel Tree program we will be having this year. The Salvation Army is asking for a clothing item and a toy. Of course, you can purchase more if you like. LETTUCE GET HEALTHY, a monthly group meeting to support one another in our journey to better health through a plant based eating lifestyle, meets Sunday, Nov. 19 at 1:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall, Room 5. Our presentation will be the DVD The Last Heart Attack, followed by a question and answer session. We share recipes, cooking ideas, and tips that will help us discover good food and lifestyle choices. Everyone is welcome. For more information, call Tony at (520) 378-2141. Announcements must be of interest to a significant portion of the congregation; time is limited, so the Pastor may not be able to honor all requests. The SVUMC Food Pantry has been very busy. In October, food bags equivalent to 1,683 meals were distributed. The pantry can always use your help. Food Pantry Needs Canned Vegetables all varieties Canned Fruit Spaghetti Sauce and spaghetti or other pasta Packaged goods macaroni & cheese, rice mixes, potatoes, instant mashed potatoes Peanut butter and/or jelly Crackers Hot or cold cereal Canned soup, pasta (like spaghetti o s), stew or chili Canned meat 1 lb bags of dried beans or 1 lb bags of rice All food should be in its original packaging and should have a current date on it. Please don t bring old food items; we just have to throw them out. Your generosity is so appreciated by the people who visit us.
