God Uses Nehemiah to Rebuild Jerusalem s Wall

Transcription:

Nehemiah 1:1 3 (NIV84) 1-2 The words of Nehemiah son of Hakaliah: In the month of Kislev in the twentieth year, while I was in the citadel of Susa, Hanani, one of my brothers, came from Judah with some other men, and I questioned them about the Jewish remnant that survived the exile, and also about Jerusalem.

Nehemiah 1:1 3 (NIV84) 3 They said to me, Those who survived the exile and are back in the province are in great trouble and disgrace. The wall of Jerusalem is broken down, and its gates have been burned with fire.

Philippians 4:6 7 (NIV84) 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Nehemiah 1:3 (NIV84). Those who survived the exile and are back in the province are in great trouble and disgrace. The wall of Jerusalem is broken down, and its gates have been burned with fire.

Nehemiah 1:4 (NIV84) When I heard these things, I sat down and wept. For some days I mourned and fasted and prayed before the God of heaven.

Nehemiah 1:6 7 (NIV84) 6 let your ear be attentive and your eyes open to hear the prayer your servant is praying before you day and night for your servants, the people of Israel. I confess the sins we Israelites, including myself and my father s house, have committed against you.

Nehemiah 1:6 7 (NIV84) 7 We have acted very wickedly toward you. We have not obeyed the commands, decrees and laws you gave your servant Moses.

Psalm 139:23 24 (NIV84) 23 Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. 24 See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

Nehemiah 2:7 8 (NIV84) 7. If it pleases the king, may I have letters to the governors of Trans-Euphrates, so that they will provide me safe-conduct until I arrive in Judah? 8 And may I have a letter to Asaph, keeper of the king s forest, so he will give me timber.

Nehemiah 3:8 (NIV84).Uzziel son of Harhaiah, one of the goldsmiths, repaired the next section; and Hananiah, one of the perfume-makers, made repairs next to that.

John 6:9 (NIV) Here is a boy with five small barley loaves and two small fish, but how far will they go among so many?

1 Samuel 16:7 (NIV).The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.

Nehemiah 3:1 4 (NIV84) 1 Eliashib the high priest and his fellow priests went to work and rebuilt the Sheep Gate. They dedicated it and set its doors in place, building as far as the Tower of the Hundred, which they dedicated, and as far as the Tower of Hananel. 2 The men of Jericho built the adjoining section, and Zaccur son of Imri built next to them.

Nehemiah 3:1 4 (NIV84) 3 The Fish Gate was rebuilt by the sons of Hassenaah. They laid its beams and put its doors and bolts and bars in place. 4 Meremoth son of Uriah, the son of Hakkoz, repaired the next section. Next to him.

Nehemiah 4:10 (NIV84) Meanwhile, the people in Judah said, The strength of the laborers is giving out, and there is so much rubble that we cannot rebuild the wall.

Nehemiah 4:11 12 (NIV84) 11 Also our enemies said, Before they know it or see us, we will be right there among them and will kill them and put an end to the work. 12 Then the Jews who lived near them came and told us ten times over, Wherever you turn, they will attack us.

Nehemiah 5:9 (NIV84). What you are doing is not right. Shouldn t you walk in the fear of our God to avoid the reproach of our Gentile enemies?

Nehemiah 4:13 17 (NIV84) 13 Therefore I stationed some of the people behind the lowest points of the wall at the exposed places, posting them by families, with their swords, spears and bows.

Nehemiah 4:13 17 (NIV84) 14 After I looked things over, I stood up and said to the nobles, the officials and the rest of the people, Don t be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, who is great and awesome, and fight for your brothers, your sons and your daughters, your wives and your homes.

Nehemiah 4:13 17 (NIV84) 15 When our enemies heard that we were aware of their plot and that God had frustrated it, we all returned to the wall, each to his own work.

Nehemiah 4:13 17 (NIV84) 16-17 From that day on, half of my men did the work, while the other half were equipped with spears, shields, bows and armor. The officers posted themselves behind all the people of Judah who were building the wall. Those who carried materials did their work with one hand and held a weapon in the other.

Nehemiah 6:15 16 (NIV84) 15 So the wall was completed on the twenty-fifth of Elul, in fifty-two days. 16 When all our enemies heard about this, all the surrounding nations were afraid and lost their self-confidence, because they realized that this work had been done with the help of our God.
