THE BOOK OF ISAIAH THE GOD OF OUR SALVATION ISAIAH CHAPTER 11:1-9 MEDIA REFERENCE NUMBER WN-645 AUGUST 12, 2015 THE TITLE OF THE MESSAGE: The Spirit Of God At Work Part 2 Discovering the Salvation of the Lord Jesus Christ Through The Grace of God SUBJECT TOPICALLY REFERENCED UNDER: Tribulation Period, Prophecy, Israel, Antichrist, Government Introduction to the Text; Isaiah 11:1-9 From the Announcements of Coming Punishment and Correction, - - Isaiah turns the eyes of his People-Israel to the Future Salvation of God. And we need to remember that for ourselves too. Hebrews 12:3-8 For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls. 4 You have not yet resisted to bloodshed, striving against sin. 5 And you have forgotten the exhortation which speaks to you as to sons: My son, do not despise the chastening of the LORD, Nor be discouraged when you are rebuked by Him; 6 For whom the LORD loves He chastens, And scourges every son whom He receives. :7 If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom a father does not chasten? 8 But if you are without chastening, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate and not sons. There is a Night and Day Difference From a Trial (origin in God) Vs. A Temptation. (origin in the flesh) James 1:2-4 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. 4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. Isaiah Chapter 11 Again; Introduces Us to the Coming, Earthly Kingdom of God. The Spirit Of God At Work 1.) Our Restoration God vs. 1 There shall come forth a Rod from the stem of Jesse, And a Branch shall grow out of his roots. 1
There shall come forth ( this is a bold, clear and certain prophecy this is what will happen ) a Rod (a little humble twig) from the stem (a chopped off stump) of Jesse, And a Branch (fresh shoot) shall grow out of his roots (the source or ancient, the beginning). The Dual Birthright of The Messiah of the World Romans 1:3-4 Concerning His Son Jesus Christ our Lord, who #1 - was born of the seed of David according to the flesh, 4 and #2 - declared to be the Son of God with power according to the Spirit of holiness, by (the qualifier) the resurrection from the dead. Revelation 5:5 But one of the elders said to me, Do not weep. Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has prevailed to open the scroll and to loose its seven seals. There is an unquestionable assumption made here by both the Lord and by Isaiah His prophet - - all of this talk about a Branch and the Stem arising out of Jesse, demands that we see the obvious, which is, God Will Send His Son. But there are certain things that must be in place for that to happen. (a) There would have to be an Israel surviving at the End of Days and (b) Isaiah s prophecy was some 745 years before the birth of Jesus Christ. (c) there would have to be a Bethlehem in Judea at the time of Jesus birth. Jesus Christ is the Second Person of the Trinity, God s Son, Savior of the World Denial Cannot Make Things Go Away. Today, the Jewish people deny that God sent them His Son. Today, the Muslims deny that God sent His Son. The Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem (says in Arabic, God has not been begotten, neither does God have a Son 2
1 John 2:22-23 Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist who denies the Father and the Son. 23 Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father either; he who acknowledges the Son has the Father also. Today, an Atheistic world denies that God sent His Son. Today, the Cults deny that God sent His Son. And yet, what does the Bible teach? 1 John 4:14-15 And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as Savior of the world. 15 Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. Romans 1:1-4 Paul, a bondservant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated to the gospel of God 2 which He promised before through His prophets in the Holy Scriptures, 3 concerning His Son Jesus Christ our Lord, who was born of the seed of David according to the flesh (dna), 4 and declared to be the Son of God with power according to the Spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead. The Spirit Of God At Work 2.) Is mighty to save vs. 2-5 (1/7) The Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon Him, (2/7) The Spirit of Wisdom and The Spirit of (3/7) Understanding, (4/7) The Spirit of Counsel and The Spirit of (5/7) Might, (6/7) The Spirit of Knowledge and (7/7) The Spirit of the Fear of the LORD. Who is this God that has announced Himself to be the Salvation of the World? Revelation 1:4-5 John, to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace to you and peace from Him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven(fold) Spirit(s) who are (is) before His throne, 5 and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn (first one) from the dead, and the Ruler over the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, Revelation 5:1-6 And I saw in the right hand of Him who sat on the throne a scroll written inside and on the back, sealed with seven seals. 2 Then I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the scroll and to loose its seals? 3 And no one in heaven or on the earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll, or to look at it. :4 So I wept much, because no one was found worthy to open and read the scroll, or to look at it. 5 But one of the elders said to me, Do not weep. Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has prevailed to open the scroll and to loose its seven seals. :6 And I looked, and behold, in the midst of the throne and of the four living creatures, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as though it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent out into all the earth. 3
The Menorah first appeared in the Tabernacle / Wilderness. ( it signified God s light and presence among His people ) Exodus 25:31-32 You shall also make a lampstand of pure gold; the lampstand shall be of hammered work. Its shaft, its branches, its bowls, its ornamental knobs, and flowers shall be of one piece. 32 And six branches shall come out of its sides: three branches of the lampstand out of one side, and three branches of the lampstand out of the other side. Revelation 2:1 To the angel of the church of Ephesus write, These things says He who holds the seven stars in His right hand, who walks in the midst of the seven golden lampstands: (1/7) The Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon Him, (2/7) The Spirit of Wisdom and The Spirit of (3/7) Understanding, (4/7) The Spirit of Counsel and The Spirit of (5/7) Might, (6/7) The Spirit of Knowledge and (7/7) The Spirit of the Fear of the LORD. (1/7) The Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon Him, (2/7) The Spirit of Wisdom (3/7) The Spirit of Understanding, (4/7) The Spirit of Counsel (5/7) The Spirit of Might, (6/7) The Spirit of Knowledge (7/7) The Spirit of the Fear of the LORD. John 8:12 Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life. 1 John 1:5-7 God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. 6 If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. On the day of the Resurrection, Jesus said Luke 24:25 Then He said to them, O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken! 26 Ought not the Christ to have suffered these things and to enter into His glory? 27 And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He expounded to them in all of the Scriptures the things concerning Himself. 1.) The Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon Him, LORD - YHWH the very Name of God Himself. The one and only, all sufficient, all self-contained, self-existing one, the only eternal God. Isaiah 42:8 I am the LORD, that is My name; And My glory I will not give to another, 1 John 5:13 These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God. 4
Isaiah 45:21-22 Tell and bring forth your case; Yes, let them take counsel together. Who has declared this from ancient time? Who has told it from that time? Have not I, the LORD? And there is no other God besides Me, A just God and a Savior; There is none besides Me. 22 Look to Me, and be saved, All you ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other. Romans 14:11 For it is written: As I live, says the LORD, Every knee shall bow to Me, And every tongue shall confess to God. Philippians 2:9-11 Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. The Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon Him Luke 3:21-22 When all the people were baptized, it came to pass that Jesus also was baptized; and while He prayed, the heaven was opened. 22 And the Holy Spirit descended in bodily form like a dove upon Him, and a voice came from heaven which said, You are My beloved Son; in You I am well pleased.
