We Confess Our Sins All: O Lord, the great and awesome God, who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments; Lord, we have done wrong and acted wickedly and rebelled, turning aside from your commandments and rules. You are righteous, but this day we are covered with shame because we have sinned against you. We your people have transgressed your law and turned away, refusing to obey you. O Lord, listen! O Lord, forgive! O Lord, hear and act! We do not make requests of you because we are righteous, but because of your great mercy. For your sake, O God, do not delay, because we your people bear your Name. In your mercy, keep covenant with us, and turn our hearts back to you so that we will love you and keep your commandments. God Declares Our Forgiveness Psalm 130:3-4 Leader: If you, O LORD, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand? And he brought them to the land of Shinar, to the house of his god, and placed the vessels in the treasury of his god. 3 Then the king commanded Ashpenaz, his chief eunuch, to bring some of the people of Israel, both of the royal family and of the nobility, 4 youths without blemish, of good appearance and skillful in all wisdom, endowed with knowledge, understanding learning, and competent to stand in the king's palace, and to teach them the literature and language of the Chaldeans. 5 The king assigned them a daily portion of the food that the king ate, and of the wine that he drank. They were to be educated for three years, and at the end of that time they were to stand before the king. 6 Among these were Daniel, 2
Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah of the tribe of Judah. 7 And the chief of the eunuchs gave them names: Daniel he called Belteshazzar, Hananiah he called Shadrach, Mishael he called Meshach, and Azariah he called Abednego. The Lord s Supper At UPC Lake Nona, we o er communion every week. We believe that it adds a tremendous sensory experience to worship and provides a deep encounter with Christ. Jesus Christ himself invites all true believers to his table. If you are a baptized Christian, a follower of Jesus Christ, and a faithful member or adherent of this or some other congregation, recognized as belonging to the fellowship of Christian believers, please know how welcome you are to eat this gracious meal with us. By taking the bread and the wine, you are acknowledging that you are a sinner, without hope except in God s sovereign mercy, and that you are trusting in Christ alone for your salvation. If you have any questions about your participation in the Lord s Supper please speak to our pastor. Ushers will pass the elements through the rows. Please hold onto each element until all have been served. As you pass the bread to the next person, you may say, The body of Christ, broken for you. Gluten-free bread is available. Simply raise your hand, and the pastor will serve you. As you pass the wine, you may say, The blood of Christ, poured out for you. The red cups are wine; the white cups are grape juice. Children and Youth As you look around, you'll notice lots of kids. We welcome children of all ages in our worship service, believing that they are part of God's family and are blessed to participate in corporate worship. We appreciate your understanding of the occasional disruption. A nursery with a nap room is provided throughout the entire service every Sunday for infants and toddlers through age 3. A cry room is also available. Sunday School is o ered for children ages 4 years to 5th grade. Children who wish to attend will be dismissed prior to the Scripture reading and will return after the Sermon. The fourth Sunday of the month, instead of Sunday School, children remain in the service. Youth group for middle and high schoolers is o ered.
