Upcoming Events and Activities *NEW, on the 3rd Sunday of every month at St. James Church, beginning Feb 21 st at 10:50am before the 11am Mass. Rejoice in God s Mercy As part of the Year of Mercy the Diocese of Calgary invites you to re-discover the meaning of the sacrament of Reconciliation in your life. In addition to the regular parish schedule, the sacrament of Reconciliation will be available at parishes throughout the Diocese of Calgary all the Wednesdays of Lent from 7:30 8:30pm. 24 Hour Perpetual Adoration Parishioners are once again invited to join in Perpetual Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament with staff from Christ the Redeemer Catholic Schools. Adoration will commence on Tuesday, February 16 th at 11:00 AM and will continue through the night until 2:00 PM on Wednesday, February 17 th. This time period is our annual Faith Days for staff and we want to surround the participants with prayer. Without faithful, committed adorers, Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament would not be possible. Your spiritual commitment would be a blessing and would allow Perpetual Adoration to take place. We pray that you will consider committing an hour of your time for Adoration. We are especially in need of help during the hours of Midnight and 5 AM. When: Where: Why? A sign up sheet is located in Narthex of the church. Movie Night Thursday, March 3 rd, 7-9 p.m. St. James Church Hall The Eucharist: Do you have an I ll believe it when I see it attitude? If the answer is yes you must watch this movie. Overview: Science Documentary on Eucharistic Miracles: Science Tests Faith This 2-hour documentary will cover scientific investigations that have taken place around two Eucharistic miracles. The investigation was initiated by then Bishop Jorge Mario Bergoglio, or as he s better known today, Pope Francis. The documentary is in a lecture style series and intended for teenagers to adult audience. For further information please contact: Armand Liboiron 403 933 2480 NEW! February 14th: First Sunday of Lent Temptation is neither a sin nor a sign that we are bad. Jesus was baptised and received the Holy Spirit. Next, that same Holy Spirit led him into the wilderness where he faced temptation. In baptism we have been claimed for Christ and sealed by the Holy Spirit so that we are protected by God when we enter our own wilderness. Through our baptism our power is in God and we demonstrate its strength by living in service to others. Action: Spend time this Lent reflecting on the gift of Baptism. Session Four: March 16 and 23, 2016 Session Five: *Sundays May 15 and 22, 1-3pm (Special date & time) A baptismal registration form must be handed in to the parish office before the start of the session. Baptisms are held on the 2nd Sunday of every month after the 11:00am Mass at St. James or during the 9am mass at St. Michael s (Exception: No Baptisms during Lent).
