GLORY TO GOD On the night of Jesus birth the angels sang Glory to God in the highest. We repeat their song when we sing Gloria in Excelsis Deo. We sing a number of songs during this season that have the word glory in them. The word glory speaks of wonder, magnificence, beauty, splendor and grandeur. This is a wonderful season in which we can proclaim to the world the glory of God. Amazingly, 2 Peter 1:4 says God has called us to His own glory and excellence (KJV). Not only can we sing about God s glory or proclaim His glory through our words, we are called to display His glory through the excellence of our character, attitudes and actions. I recently heard a person say, If it has the name of Christ on it, there should be excellence. I resonate with that. We are a Christian community. We unashamedly proclaim Christ to be a part of who we are and what we do in Wesleyan Village. We have the opportunity to display the glory of God to those who drive by; to those with whom we do business; and to those who choose to associate with us. We bring glory to God through the excellence of the appearance of our campus that displays our care for God s creation the relationships that enrich us the activities that enhance our quality of life the vision that compels us to build for the future. We pursue excellence in these things so others will be drawn to Christ and join us in proclaiming Glory to God in the highest. Ken Heer President

THE VILLAGE CREW This is the story of the Village Crew, a bunch of great folks, who are really true blue, This group is made up of all sorts of folks, The majority of us are just plain pokes. Aches and pains are setting in, Our memories are constantly doing a spin. We re not old and decrepit as some people think, But our youth has gone by in a flick of a wink, We re here tonight for a time of great fun, The friendship for us has just begun. The folks living here are different by far, Each one deserves a celebrity star. Now Carl you see is the Music Man Where musical talents are in great demand. No seventy-six trombones he ll play For him they ll just get in the way! The other half of this mated duo Carol sits at the grand old piano She always gives Carl a helping hand. They could form their own 2 person band. Now Harry is a likeable fellow, Always laid back and very mellow. Janet is quiet and very refined As a couple they are simply divine. Randall is a talkative gent, Everyone listens with their ears bent All of sudden Randall took off and went Guess he out planning some event. Rose Iris is a lovely flower Who lets Randall have all the power. But she s always there right on the spot, This special couple means a lot! Doyle brings sunshine and pride The Lord is his constant guide. Darlene is always by his side. New. Wynona and Ray are quite a pair? Finding them was very rare. It was a spark that ignited in flame, And made Wynona change her name. Our new neighbors Faith and Gary Rose We re so glad Wesleyan Village you chose. Fellow New Yorkers brought our way, That became a happy day! Nice neighbors we ve been praying for The Lord blessed us with much more. The friendship that we ve acquired here Have meant so much and are so dear. Ken enjoys the coffee bunch Cause of all the news I have a hunch If they could they d stay till lunch. By now you ve guessed the weird one of the gang. Is Marcia, where sense of humor goes out with a bang. Watch out! Is the warning you never know How far to extremes she will go. You are her neighbors and soon you will find She always has something wacky in mind. We hope as we all gather together We ll get to know one another much better. Written by Marcia Bunts for an evening with her guests. YOUR BRAIN TEASER FOR DECEMBER HOW WELL DO YOU KNOW LADIES NAMES THAT ARE FOUND IN THE BIBLE?
