Dear parish family, TRINITY SUNDAY C The feast of the Holy Trinity reminds us that every Sunday's gospel helps unfold the mystery of divine life: Jesus makes the Father's truth and love present in the world through the power of the Holy Spirit. Every Sunday's Eucharist is the prayer of the church in living communion with the Risen Lord praising the Father through the power of the Spirit. Every good work we do is to share in Christ's mission of making the Father's truth and love present in the world because we share Christ's Spirit. And we experience even now in faith some fulfillment of our human existence through the peace and joy of living in the communion of divine love with Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The Trinity, three Persons in one God, mystifies and baffles the human mind. However when it comes to knowing Father, Son, and Spirit there is a part in us that is a faster learner: it is not our brain but it is our heart. God is love! And when we feel truly that love and we love God in return, it is then that we are actually immersed in the mystery of the Trinity. Love is three-dimensional; the lover, the beloved, and the bond or the spirit that connects the two. In relation to God, we are bonded to Him in the Holy Spirit thru the grace of Jesus Christ, who is our way to the Father. This is too deep to think about, too profound to reflect and contemplate upon. So let me just continue my message focusing on practical things and on how to we relate to the mystery of the Trinity in day-to-day living. Way back in the 1970, there was a popular musical in the Broadway, which also was made into a movie that was entitled, Godspell. Anyway, throughout the play there is a song, which is often repeated with these lyrics, Day by day, three things do I pray. To see you more clearly; to love you more dearly; to follow you more nearly, day by day. The lyrics came from a prayer to the Holy Trinity written by St. Richard, a thirteen century saint from England. It is when we love God more dearly, that we can surely follow the Lord more nearly. We can do this by the gift of the Holy Spirit working in us to guide and strengthen us. So on this feast day of the blessed Trinity, let our hearts do the thinking to know God and feel the love of Him that needs no further explanation. And so we see God's way more clearly; to love him more dearly; to follow him nearly, day by day. Blessings to all and have a good week! Fr. Padre Tony

Today s readings for Trinity Sunday succinctly cover the depth and breadth of our human travels. The very beginnings of our journey are revealed in the reading from Proverbs. God s plan filled with divine wisdom was born before the earth was made. In today s Gospel, Jesus speaks of his own personal journey. He has come from the Father and will return to the Father. Only then will the Advocate the Spirit of Truth take us onward. This does not diminish the fact that the journey will be hard. The very setting of the Gospel is the night before Jesus died. As Saint Paul writes to the Romans, [W]e even boast of our afflictions, knowing that affliction produces endurance, and endurance, proven character, and proven character, hope (Romans 5:3-4). Ultimately, our human journey is modeled by the Holy Trinity a family of love among Father, Son, and Spirit that we are all called to emulate. Copyright J. S. Paluch Co.
