Open Lies, Hidden Truth Lie: Sin comes from our sinful Nature and is a normal Part of Life, and God s Grace covers it. Truth: Sin separates us from God and God s Grace helps us stop it.!

Open Lies, Hidden Truth Truth: Sin separates us from God Lies: We have a sinful nature and can t stop sinning so we just have to rely on the Grace of God and not worry about it.

Sin Matthew 1:21 And she shall have a son, and you are to name Him Jesus for He will save His people from their sins.

Sin 1 John 1:8-10 If we claim we have no sin we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth. But if we confess our sins to Him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all wickedness. If we claim we have not sinned, we are calling God a Liar and showing that his Word has no place in our hearts.

Sin 1 John 2:1 My dear children I am writing this to you that you will not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate who pleads our case before the Father. He is Jesus Christ, the one who is truly righteous.

Sin and the Child of God 1 John 3: 4-9 Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness. 5 And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin. 6 Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him. 7

Sin and the Child of God 1 John 3: 4-9 Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices 7 righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. 8 sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was He who manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed 9 remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.

What shall we say then? 1 Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? 2 not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it? Certainly Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized 3 into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into 4 death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. Romans 6:1-23

Romans 6:5-7 For if we have been united together in the 1 5 likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, 6 knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. 7 For he who has died has been freed from sin.

Destroyed (Blue Letter Bible) Destroyed: (the Van s Flat Battery) 1. to render idle, unemployed, inactivate, inoperative a. to cause a person or thing to have no further efficiency b. to deprive of force, influence, power 2. to cause to cease, put an end to, do away with, annul, abolish a. to cease, to pass away, be done away b. to be severed from, separated from, discharged from, loosed from any one 3. to terminate all intercourse with one

Romans 6:8-11 Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we 1 8 shall also live with Him, 9 knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him. 10 For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. 11 Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that 12 you should obey it in its lusts. And do not present your members as instruments of 13 unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God. Romans 6:12-14 For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are 14 not under law but under grace.

What then? 15 Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not! Do you not know that to whom you present 16 yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one s slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness? Romans 6:15-16

Romans 6:17-19 But God be thanked that though you were slaves of 17 sin, yet you obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine to which you were delivered. 18 And having been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness. 19 I speak in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. For just as you presented your members as slaves of uncleanness, and of lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves of righteousness for holiness.

Romans 6:20-23 For when you were slaves of sin, you were free in 20 regard to righteousness. 21 What fruit did you have then in the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death. 22 But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life. 23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
