The young members of our choirs not only contribute their voices, they give hope to the future of the liturgy. While regular weekly rehearsals are essential, it is the Institute s Annual Summer Choir Camp that has been extremely effective in honing skills that make our choirs what they are today. The 2018 Choir Camp will take place August 5 th - 10th, at the beautiful Mount Saint Joseph in Kentucky. Registration is open for children ages 10-18. For five days choristers will be immersed in daily music training, attend classes in Latin, Gregorian chant, music theory, and vocal technique, as well as daily Mass in the Extraordinary Form. Register Online Today: www.institute-christ-king.org/go/choir-camp/ Please consider making a donation so that we can offer Choir Camp scholarships to students. SCRIP G C P T SCRIP. E O! C P C B Dear Faithful, On behalf of the Superiors in the Institute, Monsignor Wach and Monsignor Schmitz, and all Canons, we wish to extend our heartfelt appreciation to all those who assisted with the preparation for the annual priest retreat with the convent cleaning and campus beautification for the past several weeks. You have helped us greatly with these necessary projects for the annual priest retreat which officially begins tomorrow. These behind the scenes projects have made the convent comfortable and the entire campus inviting for our visiting priests. The convent is clean and orderly, again, and with the addition of numerous donated beautiful flowers and bushes along with the ongoing campus clean-up the grounds have never looked better! May God bless and reward you for all your help! Canon Michael K. Wiener Rector, St. Francis de Sales Oratory S G W T T 10 M

D S H F We are pleased to announce that, with the assistance of our friends at the law firm of Stinson Leonard Street LLP in St. Louis, a new legal entity, the DeSales Heritage Foundation, has been created. DeSales Heritage Foundation is a public charity, tax-exempt under Internal Revenue Code (IRC) Section 501(c)(3). All donations made to the Foundation are therefore tax deductible according to IRC Section 170. The governing instrument of this newly-established Foundation provides that its purpose is to promote and support the restoration, preservation and improvement of our church building, an historically and architecturally significant structure listed on the National Register of Historic Places. We anticipate this narrow objective will encourage companies, associations and other entities that may not wish to support religion, as such, to contribute. The new DeSales Heritage Foundation has already been approved by The Boeing Company as an eligible organization for the Boeing Cash Matching Program! Many corporations match donations made by employees to a recognized non-profit, such as DeSales Heritage Foundation. Please inquire about your company s employee gift matching program and guidelines. If you need to provide details to qualify DeSales Heritage Foundation for your company s program, please contact Mr. Charles A. Redd at (314) 259-4534 or charles.redd@stinson.com. J 14 6:00 C P R R M. W C H On June 14, the 2016 priest retreat for all canons in the U.S. Province will conclude with a Solemn High Mass celebrated by Msgr. Gilles Wach, Prior General and founder of the Institute. After the Solemn High Mass, there will be a reception in the hall with Msgr. Wach, all canons in the U.S. and the faithful until 9:00pm. P G Please remember St. Francis de Sales Oratory in your Will or Living Trust. An appropriate Will or Trust provision would be: "I give to The Friends of St. Francis de Sales Oratory, Inc., St. Louis, Missouri, for the Oratory's unrestricted use." I A The Oratory s biggest annual financial obligation is that of our property and liability insurance assessment. Our insurance assessment for the 2017-2018 fiscal year is $90,162.00. In the beginning of March 2018 we made our first payment toward the insurance obligation of $32,548.75. We are planning on making the final payment of $57,613.25 in June of this year. We are relying on your continuous generosity and donations which you exercise by using the insurance envelope and by your restricted gifts. Please help us off set this cost by donating today. P O S. F S O O A 2, 2018 With heartfelt gratitude to Divine Providence, it is our joy to announce the upcoming priestly ordinations which will take place this summer in Saint Louis. With the gracious permission of His Grace, the Most Reverend Robert J. Carlson, Archbishop of St. Louis, several American deacons will be ordained to the holy priesthood at St. Francis de Sales Oratory in St. Louis, Missouri, on the morning of Thursday, August 2, 2018, on the First Thursday of the month a day traditionally dedicated to the Priesthood of Jesus Christ. The Sacrament of Holy Orders will be conferred by His Eminence, Raymond Leo Cardinal Burke, Patron of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta. The Institute's Founder and Prior General, Very Reverend Monsignor Gilles Wach, along with the Seminary Rector and Co-Founder, Reverend Canon Philippe Mora, will be present for this special occasion, along with many Canons and members of the Institute family. The names of those to be ordained will be announced in the coming months after the important period of exams and scrutiny which is a necessary part of preparation before Holy Orders. The Institute is profoundly grateful to all who have offered prayers for these future priests, especially through the St. Philip Neri Seminary Society's program of spiritual adoption by which the faithful pray daily for a particular seminarian. With deep appreciation the Institute likewise is very thankful to all of the generous benefactors of its International Seminary. H S C C A R C N 17, 2018 10:30AM It is with great joy that we announce the visit of His Grace, Archbishop Robert J. Carlson, to Saint Francis de Sales Oratory on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 10:30am. Archbishop Carlson will celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation and will assist at a Solemn High Mass. H O H R! Spring is the time that many of us begin tackling those long overdue home repairs and improvements. Did you know that you can help raise money for the Oratory while working in the garden, painting the living room, buying appliances, installing new flooring, adding a sprinkler system, building a shed or upgrading a kitchen with very little extra effort? SCRIP gift cards can be ordered in larger denominations for those bigger (or smaller) home projects. Please contact the Rectory Office at (314) 771-3100 for more information on how to place your order or if you have any questions. Thank you. F : T F T. T M. H O J 17, 2018 10 M H C, E C F On June 17th, 2018, after the 10am High Mass, there will be a talk in the Basement Hall on the theme: "Creation, Evolution and the Crisis of Faith." This talk will be given by Mr. Hugh Owen, Director of the Kolbe Center for the Study of Creation. He will sum up the traditional teaching of the Church on Creation, describe the challenge that was mounted against it by natural scientists and philosophers outside of the household of the Faith, document the authoritative response of the Magisterium to that challenge, set forth the terrible consequences of abandoning the traditional doctrine, present some of the cutting-edge natural science evidence that refutes the evolutionary hypothesis and confirms the traditional doctrine of creation, and explain why it is absolutely necessary for Catholics to defend and restore the traditional doctrine of creation, as the foundation of our holy Faith.

TO ALL OUR GUESTS Canon Wiener and the faithful of St. Francis de Sales Oratory welcome you, and hope that your time in the Cathedral of South St. Louis may be an opportunity to share in the tradition of the Roman Catholic Faith. Please enjoy the beauty of this building dedicated to St. Francis de Sales, co-patron of the INSTITUTE OF CHRIST THE KING SOVEREIGN PRIEST. According to liturgical tradition, and the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite, Holy Communion is received kneeling and on the tongue. All visitors who are not of the Catholic faith are welcome to join us in prayer, but are requested not to receive Holy Communion. Because the reception of Holy Communion is the sign of Divine and Ecclesial unity, only practicing Catholics who are free of mortal sin, and in full communion with the Catholic Church should present themselves for Holy Communion. We pray for the full visible unity among all Christians. To receive more information about the Oratory or if you desire to become a member of the Catholic Church, contact the rectory. St. Francis de Sales Oratory is an Oratory of the INSTITUTE OF CHRIST THE KING SOVEREIGN PRIEST in the Archdiocese of St. Louis.
