I arrived armed with my picnic blanket fully intending to sit, read the scriptures, reflect and pray, but I found myself unable to settle on a good spot to stop. So I kept on walking. As I walked I decided to pray. Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me a sinner. I repeated the prayer in whole. I also prayed through each part of the prayer. Lord Acknowledging his royal position I submitted to God s authority over me. Jesus Christ I recalled the power in the name of Jesus and couldn t help but sing a few or our songs about His name. So I continued to walk and pray. And when I got to me a sinner I confessed. I reviewed my last few days. Acknowledged weaknesses. Attitudes. Actions. Ungodly desires. By the time I had finished walking through the prayer it was easy to find a spot on the grass, lay out my blanket and read the scriptures and reflect. Why don t you try prayer walking? I found it very refreshing and restoring. It s good for your health spiritually and physically. Dean PS. During this week Majors Dean & Vicki will be in Sydney attending the Certificate in Spiritual Formation Course. Please contact either the corps office or CSM Paul Parkinson in their absence.
