Call to Worship: Psalm 98 O sing to the LORD a new song, God has done marvelous things. God has remembered steadfast love and faithfulness to us. All the ends of the earth have seen the victory of our God. *Hymn: #637 O Sing to the Lord *Prayer of Adoration *The Lord s Prayer Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.
Call to Confession Prayer of Confession Eternal God, our judge and redeemer, we confess that we have tried to hide from you, for we have done wrong. We have lived for ourselves, and apart from you. We have turned from our neighbors, and refused to bear the burdens of others. We have ignored the pain of the world, and passed by the hungry, the poor, and the oppressed. In your great mercy forgive our sins and free us from selfishness, that we may choose your will and obey your commandments; through Jesus Christ our Savior. (silent prayers) Assurance of Pardon *Sung Response: #399 (sung three times) God welcomes all, strangers and friends; God's love is strong and it never ends.
Prayer for Illumination PROCLAIM GOD S WORD Gospel Lesson: John 15:9-17 Page: NT 109 Anthem: The Gift of Love Hopson The Choir Though I may speak with bravest fire, and have the gift to all inspire, and have not love, my words are vain, as sounding brass, and hopeless gain. Though I may give all I possess, and striving so my love profess, but not be given by love within, the profit soon turns strangely thin. Come, Spirit, come, our hearts control; our spirits long to be made whole. Let inward love guide every deed; by this we worship, and are freed. Amen. New Testament Lesson: Acts 8:26-40 Page: NT 126 A Scripture Conversation New Testament Lesson: Acts 10:44-48 Page: NT 130 Sermon: Nothing in the Way *Hymn: #435 There's a Wideness in God's Mercy
*Affirmation of Faith: A Brief Statement of Faith, Sec.3 We trust in God the Holy Spirit, everywhere the giver and renewer of life. The Spirit sets us free to accept ourselves and to love God and neighbor, and binds us together with all believers in the one body of Christ, the Church. In a broken and fearful world the Spirit gives us courage to pray without ceasing, to witness among all peoples to Christ as Lord and Savior, to unmask idolatries in Church and culture, to hear the voices of peoples long silenced, and to work with others for justice, freedom, and peace. With believers in every time and place, we rejoice that nothing in life or in death can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. GIVE THANKS TO GOD Offerings of Tithes and Gifts Offertory Reception of Offerings by Ushers *Presentation *Doxology: #606 Praise God, from whom all blessings flow; praise God, all creatures here below; praise God, above, ye heavenly host; praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.

The Delaware Women s Chorus is a diverse group of women coming together for two hours once a week for the sole purpose of improving their own vocal technique and creating something beautiful. Urban Promise Summer Camp Supplies Every year, our friends at Urban Promise provide 6 free summer camps for children in various locations throughout the city of Wilmington. More than 350 children get to experience sports activities, arts and crafts, healthy meals and snacks, and bible lessons provided by young interns from all over the United States and international countries as well. This year will be collecting "12 pencil packs" of Colored Pencils. There will be a wicker basket in the front hallway of the Christian Education building for your donations. If you would prefer to make a financial donation, see Janet Spring after church and she will make the purchase for you. Donations are due by June 7th. Urban Promise is also in need of gently used hard plastic (not styrofoam) coolers. Larger coolers are preferable. If you are in possession of a cooler you would like to donate, please bring it to church and leave it in the CE Building and write Urban Promise on the top. We will also be providing a welcome dinner for the interns. More details to follow. - Janet Spring
