We are gifted to build bonds among ourselves and others in order to live the Gospel in word, worship, community and service for the salvation of all and the building of God s kingdom. Jesus is this special bread filled with the true teachings of God the Father, seen in Jesus works. Eating this bread will nourish all with God s preferred teachings, while providing them with heavenly food that never needs replenishing. However, Jesus tells his listeners that the key element to receiving this bread is to have faith in the person of the Son of God and all his works. An example that only God sends this bread is in the Book of Exodus. Moses asks for food, and God sends it to Moses and the people in answer to his plea. When the Israelites realize this, they understand that their God is in charge and not Moses. Jesus wants the crowd to know that his bread is a gift from heaven, not by his command but his Father s. Jesus is truly the bread from heaven sent by the Father which lasts forever. This is why it is necessary that they accept Jesus. When they embrace Jesus, they will be embracing his Father. The Father and Jesus are one. They share in this mission together.

ALL SAINTS PARISH FINANCE COMMITTEE MEETING -- JULY 26, 2018 Members Present: Father Jacek, Bob Burns, Ted Sherrill, John Kurilla, Rosemary Coates and Maureen Dillon. Also present was Debbie Goodman. The meeting opened with a prayer read together. OLD BUSINESS Repairs will be made to the cemetery truck for use until a new truck is purchased. In the event of a big snowstorm, we may need additional plows. Each cemetery now has all of the equipment needed to maintain it. There is no need to transport lawn mowers and tools. The cost of repair will no more than $1600. We are meeting with Xfinity to bundle all of our services. Now they provide cable and internet. They are working with us to also include telephone. Our contract with Verizon expires in November. The leak in the rectory roof from the snow melting was repaired, however, the entire roof will be tarred this summer. There were three additional leaks that affected the basement ceiling and all have been repaired. The ceiling will be repaired after the tarring. The 100 additional graves at St. Vincent s Cemetery are almost ready for sale. The additional rainfall has delayed the completion. NEW BUSINESS Repair Report: An old foundation needed filling from the settling of the demolition of a house in the 70s. A leak in the water main Holy Child Faith Formation Center was repaired. The furnace at Holy Child is being repaired. The No. 2 pump was leaking and had to be replaced along with the gaskets. The radiator in the Kindergarten room that leaked in the spring is being repaired at this time. The railing and ceiling in the stairway of the basement are being repaired. A hole opened up at St. Vincent s Cemetery entrance. The hole will be filled in and there will be a drainage ditch formed so the water will drain into the catch basin. Diocesan Guidelines necessitate the closing of our Fundraising Checking Account. All funds will be incorporated into our regular parish account. A Stewardship Workshop will be held from August through November. Marina Kopko will be attending from Parish Council. A member from the Finance was also invited. Finance Committee will host Donut Weekend on October 6-7. The Spaghetti Dinner will be held on Sunday, September 9, from 12-4. Tickets will cost $10 for adults and $4 for children. Our 2018-2019 insurance premium was reduced $5,600 because it was realized that McAuley House carries its own insurance and our policy was a duplicate. The 2017-2018 Year-End Financial Report was reviewed. The next meeting will be Thursday, August 23, at 6 PM in the Rectory. Bob Burns concluded the meeting with a prayer. Submitted by Rosemary Coates.
