Thomas Wants to Know for Sure Grade: Preschool After Jesus died and rose from the dead, he came to visit the disciples. They were in a room with the doors locked. Jesus came into the room and said, Peace be with you. He showed them the nail marks on his hands and they knew that it was the Lord. They were happy that he was alive again. Then he breathed on them and said, Receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Thomas, one of the followers, was not with them. Later they told him, We have seen the Lord. But he said to them: Unless I see in his hands the print of the nails, and place my finger in the mark of the nails, and place my hand in his side, I will not believe. A week later Jesus came to visit them again and told Thomas to touch his wounds. Thomas did. He said, My Lord, and my God. Jesus is alive again, and is with us always. 1. St. Thomas Wants to Know for Sure Grade: K-2 After Jesus died and rose from the dead, he came to visit the disciples. They were in a room with the doors locked. Jesus came into the room and said, Peace be with you. He showed them the nail marks on his hands and they knew that it was the Lord. They were happy that he was alive again. A week later Jesus came to visit them again and told Thomas to touch his wounds. Thomas did. He said, My Lord, and my God. Jesus did many other signs while he was with them. These have been written down that you may believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. 1. After he died and rose, Jesus came to the disciples. Which disciple was not with the others that day? 2. What did the disciples tell Thomas? 3. What happened one week after Jesus visit. 4. What did Jesus tell Thomas? 5. Jesus is with us always. Pray always, and believe that He is the Son of God.

Thomas Doubts No Longer Grade: 3-5 the first day of the week, the doors being shut where the disciples were, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said to them: Peace be to you. When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side. Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord. Jesus said to them again, Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I send you. And when he had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them: Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained. Now Thomas, one of the twelve, called the Twin, was not with them when Jesus came. So the other disciples told him: We have seen the Lord. But he said to them: Unless I see in his hands the print of the nails, and place my finger in the mark of the nails, and place my hand in his side, I will not believe. Eight days later, his disciples were again in the house, and Thomas was with them. The doors were shut, but Jesus came and stood among them, and said: Peace be to you. Then he said to Thomas, Put your finger here, and see my hands; and put out your hand, and place it in my side; do not be faithless, but believing. Thomas answered him, My Lord and my God! Jesus said to him: Thomas, you have believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet believe. Now Jesus did many other signs in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book; but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in his name. 1. What does the word peace mean? What does it mean to be at peace? 2. What kinds of peace do we pray for during the liturgy? 3. Who came and stood in the midst of the disciples in this gospel? How does he greet them? 4. Who stands in our midst during the liturgy and greets us that way? 5. Who does he represent or make present to us? 6. When does the priest greet us that way? What do we do after he says that? 7. Who or what brings us peace according to this gospel and what we say in the liturgy?
