FALL EVENTS FEATURED EVENTS FALL KICK-OFF STUDENTS WEDNESDAY, AUG 29 7-9PM ALL-CHURCH SEP 9-15 We re excited to launch our new ministry year. Join us as we resume many of the classes and groups we ve previously offered, and be sure to explore what s new for this year! We have classes and events for all ages and aim to equip our congregation with the next steps to develop and grow their faith at home and beyond. LIFE GROUPS SUNDAY SUNDAY, SEP 9 8AM NOON We love that Life Groups are such an integral part of community at Rockpoint. To celebrate and remind everyone of the fun found in Life Groups, we re giving away bags of popcorn during our morning services. Plus...everyone who signs up, from August through September 9, to try out a Life group receives a cinnamon roll. The Gathering Area table has sign-up information and rolls. ROCKPOINT FAMILIES FALL FAMILY MINISTRIES OVERVIEW Rockpoint Church believes that God designed the family as the primary context for faith formation. The Rockpoint Family Resource Ministry exists to create a culture of intentionality in families by providing encouragement, helpful insights, and notable resource recommendations every step of the way. FAMILY RESOURCE CENTER PRINTED MATERIALS AVAILABLE With more than two dozen topics, these free resources provide a biblical perspective on common family seasons and challenges along with recommended going further resources, and descriptions of ministry programs and a list of church staff to support each situation. The Family Resource Center offers practical ideas and inspirational materials to help bring faith into the home. These resources include recommended books and printed materials related to specific seasons and circumstances of family life. FAITH PATH RESOURCES MATERIALS LOCATED AT THE FAMILY RESOURCE CENTER God gave parents the privilege of nurturing faith in the next generation. That s why the Faith Path was created as a step-bystep plan to help you be intentional as you prepare for key faith milestones and foster spiritual disciplines in your child s faith journey. Packets of information and recommended resources for each milestone have been prepared and are available for you. FALL ROCKPOINT KIDS SUNDAYS 9:15 & 10:45AM Children (Birth - 5 TH grade) can DIG IN to God s Word in age appropriate classes where they can learn about what it means to have a relationship with Jesus and how to grow to be more like Him. Our classes are biblically based, life-changing, safe, secure, and totally engaging. Our nursery, preschool and elementary classes meet concurrently with our 9:15 & 10:45am worship services. NOTE: Childrens classes for Nursery - 5th grade will NOT meet Sep 2 (Labor Day Weekend). LOCATION: Nursery and Lower Level AWANA TUESDAYS 6:30 8PM SCHOOL YEAR BEGINNING SEP 11 This high-energy ministry is for kids age 3 (by Sep 1) - 5 TH grade. The evening is divided into three main parts: games large group teaching handbook time Awana s main goal is to reach boys and girls with the gospel of Christ and train them to know, love and serve Him. Scripture memory is a major emphasis of Awana. Learn more about Awana ministries at www.awana.org. (Note: No Awana Oct 16 or Nov 20) Register online: www.rockpoint.church/awana COST: $40/child ($100 family max) LOCATION: Lower Level KIDS SUNDAY MORNINGS ROCKPOINT KIDS LEADER LAUNCH EVENT SUNDAY, SEP 9 4PM 8PM Everyone serving or interested in serving in our Sunday Kids Ministries or Awana will come together for dinner and an interactive fall training event. You can help train our next generation of kids (Nursery - 5th gr) and we ll make sure you have the tools for success. The complete training schedule is on our website under Ministries/Kids/Events. LOCATION: Lower Level FIRST BIBLE SUNDAY, SEP 16 9:15 & 10:45AM The gift of a Bible to a child is a momentous occasion and we invite all 1 ST graders and their grown-ups to join us for our First Bible Class. Each child will receive their very own NIrV Adventure 8 ROCKPOINT CHURCH

ROCKPOINT KIDS FALL Bible. They will learn more about how our Bible came to be and more importantly, how to use it. This is a fun, hands-on class for kids and grown-ups alike! LOCATION: Northpoint Room FALL FESTIVAL SATURDAY, SEP 29 11AM - 3PM Come one, come all to this great community outreach! Fun for all ages. Corn Maze, food trucks, carnival games, live band, hayrides and more! Invite your family, friends, and neighbors and come celebrate the fall. LOCATION: Rockpoint Campus BABY BLESSINGS CLASS SUNDAY, OCT 7 10:45AM This is a prerequisite class to Child Dedication (see below). All who participate will receive a free gift! LOCATION: Room 1 CHILD DEDICATION SUNDAY, OCT 21 8, 9:15 OR 10:45AM Child dedication is an occasion for parents to pledge before God and His church that they will raise their children in a godly home and train them to know, love and serve Him. It is also a time for us as a church to commit to praying and walking alongside families as they raise their children in our midst. In order to participate in Child Dedication, parents must attend our Baby Blessings Class. LOCATION: Worship Center KIDS LOOKING AHEAD FAMILY CHRISTMAS EVENT ONE STARRY NIGHT FRIDAY, NOV 30 6:30PM 8:30PM Come join us at One Starry Night as kids and families head to Bethlehem, where they ll see, touch, smell, and taste what life was like when Jesus was born. COST: $10/family (2 adults + children living in the same household); additional adults $5/kids $2. Register online. FALL STUDENTS ROCKPOINT STUDENTS WEEKLY WEDNESDAY NIGHTS ROCKPOINT MIDDLE (GR 6-8) 6-8PM ROCKPOINT HIGH (GRADES 9-12) 7 9PM Students meet Wednesday nights, starting Sep 5, to share in a time of fun, food, student-led worship, and a short biblical message. The highlight of the night is when we break into age and gender-based Life Groups where students are encouraged to follow Jesus together! Students should bring a friend, and $1 per student for the meal. (Not meeting 10/3, 17, 31, or 11/21) LOCATION: Lower Level, Warehouse Drop-off at Lower Parking Lot Entrance. SUNDAY MORNINGS ROCKPOINT MIDDLE (GR 6-8) 10:45AM We offer an interactive Bible study during our 10:45am service. This time is designed for middle school students to grow in a biblical worldview, apologetics, and Bible study methods. If your middle school student isn t ready for this level of study, that s ok! we encourage them to join their parents in the Worship Service, or serve in Kids Ministries. (Not meeting 10/7, 11/25, 12/16, 23, 30) LOCATION: Lower Level, Warehouse EVENTS STUDENT FALL KICK-OFF (GR 6-12) WEDNESDAY, AUG 29 7 9PM Join us as we kick-off a new ministry year together! This will be a high-energy party with food, giveaways, games, and a clear vision of following Jesus together this next year! FALL ROCKPOINT ADULTS ADULTS LIFE GROUPS NEW LIFE GROUPS LAUNCHING SEP 9-15 JOIN A GROUP - OPEN ENROLLMENT Life Groups are the basis of how we establish community at Rockpoint. In them, you can connect with and develop authentic relationships with people in like-stages of life as you seek to grow in your faith together. Sign-up online or in the Gathering Area on any Sunday from Aug 12 through Sep 16. ALL LIFE GROUP LEADERS MEETING/LUNCH SUNDAY, SEP 16 NOON - 1:30PM We will cover topics such as using MyRockpoint, effective leading, developing healthy community, living missionally together, importance of prayer, dealing with difficult situations, and other important topics. Pastor Kevin will lead this important training for all Life Group leaders. LOCATION: Lower Level, Rooms 1 & 2 SUNDAY CLASSES PEOPLE OF THE PROMISED LAND, PART I SUNDAYS, SEP 9 - MAY 9:15AM From Joshua to Solomon, God s united people entered and flourished in the promised land. Beginning with Israel s entrance into Canaan under the leadership of Joshua, we will study the books of Joshua, Ruth, I & II Samuel, I Kings 1-11, and overviews of Psalms, and Proverbs. LOCATION: Lower Level, Rooms 1 & 2 DEFENDING YOUR FAITH IN THE 21ST CENTURY SUNDAYS, SEP 9 - MAY 9:15AM The Apostle Peter said, Always be ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you. (1 Peter 3:15) This class is designed to help you uncover the facts and answer the questions that we all face today about our faith and truth. Taught by Simon Hearne, Ray Taucher and Scott Yorkovich. ROCKPOINT ADULTS FALL STUDYING THE BIBLE & SHARING WITH OTHERS SUNDAYS, SEP 9 - MAY 10:45AM Learn how to study the Bible for yourself in a way that is helpful and meaningful. You will learn how to be someone who can read and study the Bible for yourself, and how to effectively share your faith story - God s story. FALL ROCKPOINT ADULTS ADULTS WOMEN MOPS (MOTHERS OF PRESCHOOLERS) 2 ND & 4 TH THURSDAYS, SEP 13 - MAY 23 9:15-11:15AM MOPS is an international Christian ministry that is passionate about connecting moms in the local community and church to one another. This safe and encouraging environment offers moms a time where they can be strengthened spiritually and encouraged in their role as a wife, mom, and leader. For two hours, twice a month, moms will meet to enjoy brunch together while they hear from relevant speakers that will inspire and encourage them during this busy season of life. The morning also offers a time of discussion and prayer that is facilitated by a MOPS leader and a mentor mom who is there to come alongside younger moms. Children who are birth to five years are welcome to be a part of the MOPS Kids program. This ministry is intentionally designed to nourish and care for the hearts and minds of your little ones while moms are being refreshed and building relationships with other moms. NEW FOR MOPS -2019 - MOMSnext table opening at MOPS. We will be including moms who want to remain in the program, but have children beyond the preschool age. KENYA, AFRICA The Brydges Centre is home to more than 130 abandoned and orphaned children in Nairobi, Kenya. A short-term mission team will again travel to them to help and encourage the efforts of the leaders and staff at the centre. OTHER TRIPS ISRAEL TRIP APR 26 - MAY 9, 2019 Pastor Roy Fruits will be leading another life-changing, devotional trip to Israel. Both the Old Testament and New Testament will come to life as you visit the biblical sites of Israel and talk about what it means to follow Jesus.
