placed our terrible ineffective attempts to cover our guilt, shame and condemnation with the cleansing blood of His only uniquely born Son. As we know, the story goes on to show how the two in the garden entered into the blame game, also with poor results. All they had to do, in answer to God s questions were acknowledge and fess up that they had sinned, and God would forgive and cleanse them. It is the same for us: If we acknowledge, (stop hiding or make amends by our own effort) our sin, God will instantly remind us of the forgiveness that is ours and cleanse us from all that garbage we put on ourselves. God s Squad has built strong relations with many clubs and individuals over the last 4 decades and is a widely accepted expression of the Christian Church in the bike scene. The Sydney chapter closed in the mid 70 s and was re-established in 1995 and celebrates 20 years of ministry in July. During the last 25 years new chapters have been established right long the 4 Eastern Australian states with 14 chapters in all: Queensland has Border, Brisbane, Brisbane North, Central Qld and most recently Toowoomba. Victoria has Melbourne, Eastern Vic, Western Vic and Northern Vic. Tasmania has Hobart and Launceston chapters. There is ongoing exciting growth in most chapters with the likelihood of new chapters being established as a result over the coming years. Launceston chapter was established in 1992, the beginning of the growth out of the club outside of Melbourne. 1995 was a significant year in God s Squad history. In addition to the Sydney chapter, the Brisbane chapter was established. 1995 also saw the club become and international club with the establishment of chapters in New Zealand (Based in Wellington) and the United Kingdom. The UK celebrates its 20th anniversary in August and is hosting the Fourth International Run. There has been amazing growth and expansion of God s Squad in Europe following its foundation in the UK. There are now 5 chapters in the UK: North, South, Central, South Wales and Pilgrim. In Europe there are chapter in Ireland (Pilgrim), Finland, Germany, Holland Tech. Tip Back to Basics: Part 1: Three basics needed for your ride to run: a] Fuel, b] Spark, and c] Compression. This issue we will look at the fuel system. The following relates to petrol fuel systems on Motorcycles in general carburettor, multiple carburettors, and electronic fuel injection (EFI). They apply to four-stroke engines. The basics in how the fuel system works is fuel mixes with air which is ignited by a spark producing heat via a contained explosion which becomes the power source in your motor. The air is drawn into the cylinder on the intake stroke. Quality (filtered) air and quantity of air is important. The quantity is controlled by valves and pistons which choke or accelerate. Chokes are used when the motor is cold. It restricts the quantity of air making the air/fuel mixture on the rich side. The accelerator mechanism opens up the air intake and fuel intake giving more power to the motor. A turbo or supercharger forces more air Christian Biker is published by Rodney J. Osborne. Christian Biker 2.3 Page 2 is a different word and as a result carries a different meaning: nakedness with a sense of being exposed to harm (cf. Deut 28:48; Eze 18:7). The harm that Adam and the woman were exposed to was guilt and condemnation that came from the shame associated with the sin they had just committed. From that guilt and condemnation they did two things: [a] covered themselves with fig leaves (represents trying to make up for things with human works selfjustification), and [b] hid from God (as this is not possible they were in selfdenial). It is here that God s questions gain our interest. First, God asks, Where are you? Note He did not ask what have you done? That is the sort of question we ask ourselves. God knows all too well where we are (spiritually speaking) but the point of the question He asks is so we will stop kidding ourselves and fess up to where we really are. The second question: Who told you that you were eyrom (guilty and condemned)? It was not God. It never is. It was not the serpent either. He has been silent since the one time he spoke to the woman. The only other speaking beings left were Adam and the woman. Conclusion: They told themselves! Do we not do the same thing? Here is the explanation of the title of this article: Sin is not your problem. All sin is forgiven (Eph 1:7; Col 2:13; Where are you?...who Heb 9:14; 1Jn 1:7). Sins from the past, the present and the future have all been judged on the told you... cross by our Lord Jesus Christ, and when you think about it, to try and treat those forgiven sins as valid or not forgiven is the same as saying Christ s sacrifice was insufficient that is blasphemy. No, it is not sin that is our problem, but rather that which we do to ourselves that is the problem. The guilt we place on ourselves, the self-degradation we indulge in, the frantic search for ways to get rid of these feelings, the kidding of ourselves and all the legalistic works we come up with all an insult to what Christ has done for us. There is, believe it or not, a very simple solution. Just as God called Adam and the woman out from their hiding place, there is no need for us to try, futilely I might add, to hide from Him. Just as God replaced the next to useless man made fig leaves with animal skins (more permanent and durable clothing), He has re- Christian Biker 2.4 Page 11
SIN is not your problem Gen 3:7-11 Then the eyes of both were opened, and they knew that they were naked. And they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves loincloths. (8) And they heard the sound of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden. (9) But the LORD God called to the man and said to him, "Where are you?" (10) And he said, "I heard the sound of you in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked, and I hid myself." (11) He said, "Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten of the tree of which I commanded you not to eat?" When God asks us a question, we know it is not because He needs an answer. In this passage we find three questions: A] Where are you? This is not for God s benefit, but for ours. God knows where you are, but do you and are you prepared to acknowledge it? B] Who told you? God knows who told you, but are you acknowledging that you told yourself? C] Have you? God knows what you have done, but do you, or are you prepared to take responsibility and acknowledge it? Naked In 2:25 naked (arowm) means what we think it means: nude, the condition of simple and innocent nakedness. (cf. 1Sam 19:24; Job 1:21). In our text (3:7) naked (eyrom) (Lowlands), Norway, Lithuania and Ukraine with Associates in Poland and Sweden. Finally there is a chapter in Michigan in the USA. For fuel to burn efficiently it needs the right amount of air. The stoichiometric (air/ fuel ratio) determines if the motor is running lean (too much air/not enough fuel) or rich (not enough air/ too much fuel). The easiest way to check this is check what colour the inside of your exhaust is: black = rich, white = lean, grey = just right, rusty = your in trouble. You can also check the colour of your spark plugs the same way. Other fuel problems can include water or Interesting: Air is drawn into the cylinder, not by suction, but by atmospheric pressure. This means that for every 1000 feet we ride up the mountains we lose 3.5% power. fine dirt in the fuel (a good filter should take care of that), denotation AKA pinging (usually running too lean) and the wrong type of fuel. Always use the high octane stuff (95 or 98), even if it costs more. Warning: alcohol is high octane but if you haven t made the appropriate modifications you will probably blow up your bike as well as yourself. Also, for anyone thinking this way, beer, wine or spirits won t work. There can be a lot of parts that make up you bikes fuel system. They can include: EFI or carburetors, mechanical or electrical fuel pumps, filters, taps (on/off, prim/on/reserve), hoses and vacuum lines, cables, adjustment screws (mixture, idle, accelerator/de-accelerator). Now that we have some basics on how it all works, when we are inspecting, doing maintenance, repairing, and servicing of fuel systems, we need to includes looking for damage, corrosion, leaks, wear and safety aspects. Also, don t forget to collect the tools and information (manuals) needed. The only thing worse than disassembling your carby and discovering the need for a special tool, is using the wrong tool as a replacement YOU WILL WRECK IT! You may also need some replacement gaskets and seals. Also, very important: you are working with highly volatile vapors and explosive materials so be sure there is plenty of ventilation and no flames, fire, sparks or cigarettes (and an escape route). Once everything is back together and the bike is running smoothly, it still needs a test ride for correct operation. Check the warm-up, idle, acceleration & de-acceleration and warm idle. It s really that simple! Christian Biker 2.4 Page 6 Soul Nutrition The Divine Outline of History, R. B. Thieme Jr This is definitely one of those books you do not judge by it s cover or title. The subtitle Dispensations and the Church informs us of it s content and message. We don t hear too much about dispensations however Thieme claims that many ministers neglect their responsibility to teach their listeners Bible doctrine but instead goad them to become involved in emotionalism, personality cults, church programs, social work, or political activism, because of an ignorance of dispensations. If we are ignorant of dispensations, the details of which are outlined in this book, we will never know all that God has provided for us and why He has given so much. In this book Thieme shows how God unfolds His plan for mankind, and indeed for every individual believer. If you seek a solid biblical base for your personal destiny, you will find a great deal of treasure here.
