SHRIMAD BHAGAVAD GITA SERIES Wednesday, May 30 through Saturday, June 2, 2012 Discourse by Pujyashree Bhupendrabhai Pandya (Bhaishri) Pujyashree Bhupendrabhai Pandya, who has often been described as a cyber saint, an adult who understands the youth, a preacher who does not preach but shares, a confidant, a leader who holds many hands to lead them towards the brilliance of knowledge, a Guru who truly brings out the best in all lives that he touches.. fits the bill perfectly. He enlightens people all over the world with his easily comprehensible presentation of ancient scriptures. With his pious inspiration and guidance, many souls have experienced the effulgence of true knowledge. He possesses the rare ability to rationally interpret eternal principles, while focusing on the applied aspect of religion. He does not stop at mere explanation, but suggests as to how these time-tested principles can be incorporated in our daily routine in order to experience a richer and wholesome life. Bhaishri s mastery of languages such as Gujarati, English, Hindi, Marathi and Sanskrut, his scientific educational background, and his ability to explain the reasoning behind traditions make him exceptionally popular with the youth. He is able to bridge the distance between heritage and the contemporary. He is a master orator but more than anything else, he is a true leader, the true need of the hour. He has the ability to recognize problems, the intellect to solve them, and the courage to put those solutions in practice. He has contributed effectively to the qualitative transformation of mankind. HARI cordially invite all like-minded devotees for an oration of the time-tested principles of the Bhagavad Gita. It is that time of the year again when Harrisburg is drenched in the showers of spirituality. With Bhaishri s immense affection for us, he has agreed to grace the occasion and shed light on the third and fourth chapters. This is an ongoing series of discourses on the Bhagavad Gita, which have been held each year, whereby each verse in each chapter will be discussed in detail. Schedule: Wednesday, May 30 to Friday, June 1, 2012 6:00pm to 7:00pm Light Dinner 7:00pm to 7:15pm Aarti 7:15pm to 9:30pm Discourse of Gita Saturday, June 2, 2012 10 AM to 12 Noon - Discourse of Gita 12 noon-12.30pm - H A R I Aarti & Tea Break 12.30 PM-2.00PM - Discourse of Gita & Purnahuti 2.00 PM- 3.00 PM - Maha Prasad HARI Executive Committee whole-heartedly thanks the sponsors of the program. Lunch Mahaprasad In ancient times, spiritually accomplished sages and seers of India acquired the true knowledge of Sanctum Dharma and recorded it as Vedas, Upnishadas and Puranas. Puranas have acquired a significant status in rural India. For centuries, Indians are connected through culture and traditions. Our culture has nurtured the principles of truth, justice, love and good conduct. The real flavor of our values and traditions could be experienced by studying the Vedas, Upnishadas and Puranas. Our day-to-day conduct, thinking and beliefs reflect our cultural values. Puranas have contributed a great deal in preserving these principles and values. Shree Dayagiri Bapu has put extract of Shree MahaShivpurana, and has made concise attempt in his manuscript. He made Shree MahaShivpuran popular among common people. Shree Dayagiri Maharaj has presented it in Musical Oratorio format with elegant melodious compositions. All Mahapurnas consist of Lord Shiva, Lord Vishnu and Lord Brahma, each are 6, thus total are 18 Mahapuranas. According to a passage found in the first chapters of Vidyeśvara Saṁhitā and Vāyaviya Saṁhitā of these recensions the original Shiva Purana comprised twelve Saṁhitās, which included five lost Saṁhitās: Vaināyaka Saṁhitā, Mātṛ Saṁhitā (or Mātṛpurāṇa Saṁhitā), Rudraikādaśa Saṁhitā, Sahasrakoṭirudra Saṁhitā and Dharma Saṁhitā (or Dharmapurāṇa Saṁhitā),. We are delighted with the success of the temple activities this year. During March and April,- in April alone we observed 17 events- we had many pujas and major celebrations including Shiva Abhisekam, Maha Shivaratri, Holi Dahan, Holi & Dhuleti, Balaji Abhisekam, Mata ki Chowki, Gudi Padwa, Ramanavami, Hanuman Jayanti and Mahavir Jayanti. For the first time, we celebrated Sri Sitaram Kalyanam and more than 50 participants performed Ramleela program. Each event was well attended. We are planning, with support of sponsors, for four Kathas or Religious discourses in the coming months by renowned gurus and scholars. Please look out for these events in email communications and at HARI website. With two scholarly priests, the temple doors have been open for more hours and priest services made available for your home, seven days a week for all your religious needs. If you have any suggestion for improvements of our institution, please contact any of the EC or BOT members or email us at haritemple@gmail.com. Yours in Service, Dr. Renu Joshi Chairman, Board of Trustees Mr. Basava Sankar Sanke President, Executive Committee HARI TEMPLE SCHOLARSHIP It is with pleasure to announce that the HARI Board has decided to offer scholarships to high school graduates for their first year in college.
