Prepare for Leading VBS Overview of materials o Online resources o Music Rotation Leader Guide o Missions Rotation Leader Guide o Crafts Rotation Leader Guide 2. Presentation Overview o Music: Say: The Music Rotation Leader Guide with DVD provides a What You Need to Know regarding the Bible story the divers will hear in the Observation Station. It is important that dive instructors connect each day s biblical content with the song of the day. The music guide provides the step-by-step material needed to teach the music and choreography for each lesson. The DVD comes with the leader guide and it has instructions for choreography, performance videos, and lyrics. o Missions: The Missions Rotation Leader Guide with DVD provides information about what the children are learning in Bible study and how to connect that with the missionaries we will be learning about.
o Crafts: Explain that craft teachers, like all teachers in VBS are really Bible study teachers. The crafts we lead are designed to reinforce the Biblical truth presented each day. Point out that the Bible Story Title, Today's Point, and Connection Points, are found in the leader guide on the first page of each day, and that the Bible story synopsis can be found on page 3. Call attention to the Sharing the Gospel with Kids inside the front cover of the leader guide. Briefly highlight the information on the page. Talk about the importance of being ready to help any child who might be ready to make a commitment to Christ. 5. Closing Say: This year s motto is Jesus sees. Jesus knows. Jesus saves. You are helping kids learn to see themselves and others as Jesus sees them. You are also helping them to understand the need to go deeper in their understanding of Jesus. Show Scripture Verse on Music DVD and ask Divers to say it with you. Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my concerns. See if there is any offensive way in me; lead me in the everlasting way. Psalm 139:23-24. Say: It is time for our Deep Sea Adventure to end. Will you please make a circle around the room? o Begin passing out the shells. o Say: Just as each of these shells are wonderfully unique and fashioned by God, so are each of you. We all have testimonies and stories to tell of how Jesus has changed us and has held us during times when we thought we could not stay afloat. But we are each standing here today because Christ was there to keep us safe and secure in His strong arms. o Say: My prayer for you is that you will rely on Christ as you prepare for VBS this year. May you know His love and that I will be praying for you. o Make your way toward the exit door to close the circle and ask a conferee to close in prayer. o Say goodbye to each conferee and wish them a safe voyage Helpful Resources: Lifeway VBS Blog https://vbs.lifeway.com/downloads/ Missouri Baptist Convention VBS http://mobaptist.org/discipleship/vbs/
