In September, we held a 24 Hour Prayer Chain, which served as our Grand Opening for the new Prayer Room. Page 2 Many of those who participated were intimidated about committing to an hour of prayer, but were pleasantly surprised at the blessings they received. Each newsletter will have a quote from one of those people. I asked each person how they honestly felt before going in for their hour, how they spent their hour, and what the results were. Well when I signed up I was expecting it to be hard to stay up, I had a late night the night before, so I was really nervous. When I got there I decided to pray through the Word. I used Psalms 119 and found that it used up almost all of the time and found it to be a enjoyable and very fulfilling. First time I had slowly worked through this chapter, I had read it several times before but I really took the time this time to savor it. HAVE YOU BEEN TO THE NEW PRAYER ROOM Our Prayer Team would like to encourage you to focus weekly on a specific Prayer emphasis or need. You are encouraged to use this resource as you go to the foot of the cross in your daily prayer time. November & December ~ PRAYER EMPHASIS: 11/16-11/22: Petition the Lord for physical, emotional and spiritual health for our veterans and active military. 11/23-11/29: Spend time giving thanks for all your many blessings. 11/30 12/06: Ask the Lord to help us stay focused on Jesus this month. 12/07 12/13: Pray that the Lord will use you to strengthen and/or heal relationships. 12/14 12/20: Thank the Lord for your relationship with Him and ask Him to draw you closer. 12/21 12/27: Ask the Lord for traveling mercies and Divine appointments. 12/28 01/03: See the Lord s will for you in the new year and for CHCC. Ask Him to bring a new pastor soon. BUILDING USAGE If you would like to use a room in the church for an event, a study, meeting or a party, please contact Christy Ausley at christy@chccweb.org to check availability. Page 6 CHRISTMAS CARE MEALS Christmas is a joyous time for many people, but it can also be a time of sadness. This year, I am asking CHCC members to help those that are less fortunate. My prayer is for each Adult Sunday School class and/ or Care Group to volunteer and provide at least one if not two Christmas Meals for those who are struggling. Each group is to commit to providing and delivering at least one meal to a local family in need. The family may be from CHCC, the Cherokee Hills Neighborhood or a Tulake s Elementary family. Once we know how many meals have been committed, we will contact each group with the name of the family, number of members in the family, their address and phone if one is available. The best time to deliver the meal would during the weekend of December 19 to December 21. This Christmas Care Meal should consist of: Turkey or Ham Dressing Green Beans Corn Small Bag of Potatoes Gravy Rolls Dessert. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Terry Daniel (405) 205-3398 or Bob Smith (405) 721-4988. We would like to know how many meals your group is willing to provide by Sunday, November 30.
