Mark Whitsel as Pastor, effective December 9, Annual terms of call are: Salary & Housing $ 99,000; Full Pension Plan; Medical Expenses $ 2,700; Study Leave $ 4500; S.E.C.A $ 6,885; 4 weeks vacation and 2 weeks study leave. The call of the Baldwin United Presbyterian Church for the services of the Rev. Robert Walkup as Pastor (half-time) effective January 1, 2013. Annual terms of call are: Salary & Housing $ 21,524: Pension Plan; 2% Medical Deductible; Auto Allowance $ 1,800; Study Leave $ 750: 4 weeks vacation and 2 weeks study leave. Rev. Walkup currently serves as Designated Pastor. Diana Harbison as Temporary Pastor for one year effective January 1, 2013. *5. Permission to Labor Outside the Bounds The request of the Rev. Dr. M. Craig Barnes for permission to labor outside the bounds of Pittsburgh Presbytery as President of Princeton Theological Seminary effective January 1, 2013.
*6. Administrative Commission to Install The election of the following ministers and elders of Pittsburgh Presbytery to serve as an Administrative Commission to install the Rev. Tyler Domske as Associate Pastor of the Northmont United Presbyterian Church on January 20, 2013 at 10:00 a.m.. The first named minister after the moderator to be clerk of the commission. The moderator Rev. Jeff Tindall or his designee to moderate; the Revs. Jack Lolla, Alick Kennedy and Donald Dawson; together with elders Maureen Profeta of the Hiland Presbyterian Church and Kathleen Wissner of the Northmont United Presbyterian Church. *7 Moderators The appointment of the Rev. Trent Hancock as moderator of the Sixth Presbyterian Church effective November 15, The appointment of the Rev. Bruce Mounts as moderator of the McKeesport Presbyterian Church effective January 1, 2013. The appointment of the Rev. James Tinnemeyer as moderator of the Shadyside Presbyterian Church effective January 1, 2013. The appointment of the Rev. Commissioned Ruling Elders The request of the Logan s Ferry Presbyterian Church to renew the contract for Commissioned Ruling Elder services (3/4 time) of Elder Robert Henry for one year effective January 1, 2013 and authorized to do the following functions: o Administer the Lord s Supper o Administer the Sacrament of Baptism o Moderate the Session o Have a voice in the meetings of presbytery o Have a vote in the meetings of presbytery (such vote to be o o counted as an elder commissioner for purposes of parity). Session and permitted by state law The request of the Hawthorne Avenue Presbyterian Church to renew the contract for Elder Paul Nigra to be commissioned to serve as a half-time Commissioned Ruling Elder for one year effective, January 1, 2013 and authorized to perform the following functions for one year. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all God s benefits, who forgives all your sins and heals all your infirmities; Presbyters: who redeems your life from the grave and crowns you with mercy and loving-kindness; Presbyters: who satisfies you with good things. and your youth is renewed like an eagle s. COMMENTS BY THOSE OFFERING PERSONAL REFLECTIONS. THE MODERATOR ADDRESSES THE RETIRING MINISTER. John, you have completed your active service as a minister of the Word and Sacrament. Your sisters and brothers in this presbytery rejoice with you in the evidence of the Holy Spirit in your work. We thank God for your dedicated ministry in the church of Jesus Christ, and we praise God for the grace that has allowed your ministry to touch many lives. Now we come to mark with you the fulfillment of your calling, as the presbytery confers upon you the status, Honorably Retired. While we know this begins a time of rest and the enjoyment of other callings, we value the experience you have gained and the skills you have acquired throughout your years of ministry. Therefore, we welcome your continued participation in the life of the church, using your gifts in meaningful ways. You remain a colleague in ministry, and we will continue to seek your wisdom and your fellowship. Together with the whole church, you will find new opportunities to fulfill your baptismal calling, as one marked by the Holy Spirit, a disciple of Jesus Christ. May God continue to bring joy and peace to your life, just as you have blessed the Presbyterian Church with your ministry and the gospel of Jesus Christ. Let us pray All: Amen.
