T&T Handbooks and Memory Verses Parents are encouraged to work with their kids at home to memorize verses. When time permits, leaders will be able to help children a little bit with their verse memorization during handbook time. The handbook is to be done page-by-page memorizing verses in the order of which they appear. T&T Handbooks START ZONE: All 3rd-6th grade boys and girls begin their work in our T&T Club with the Start Zone entrance booklet which they receive when they attend Awana the first time. The T&T curriculum is divided into two clubs with distinct curriculum, uniforms, and awards: T&T Ultimate Adventure for third and fourth graders T&T Ultimate Challenge for fifth and sixth graders T&T Ultimate Adventure T&T Ultimate Adventure teaches third- and fourth-graders that salvation in Christ is the ultimate adventure Kids in T&T learn that the Bible is true and they can firmly trust what it says. Each Ultimate Adventure handbook answers four questions about God and the Bible that third- and fourth-graders frequently ask. Clubbers learn eight answers to each of these questions along with verses to back up these answers. The handbooks include Bible studies and activities that allow children to go deeper into the subject matter. Before working in a handbook, kids new to T&T complete a short booklet that explains God's plan of salvation.
T&T Ultimate Challenge T&T Ultimate Challenge trains fifth- and sixth-graders that walking faithfully with Christ is the ultimate challenge Each Ultimate Challenge handbook answers four questions about God and the Bible that preteens typically ask. Kids learn eight answers to each of these questions, memorizing verses that back up the answers. Bible studies, activities and service opportunities take them further into the subject matter. Before working in a handbook, kids new to T&T complete a short booklet that explains God's plan of salvation. Awards will be handed out at the end of the evening. Please note...in order to receive awards, a clubber must wear their uniform. Clubbers who have forgotten their uniform will receive their awards on the next club night. T&T Ultimate Adventure Awards Kids love Streamwood the dog, the most popular T&T character, and display handbook progress and success on the Streamwood Award Bar. Red is for T&T Ultimate Adventure Book One, and blue is for T&T Ultimate Adventure Book Two. There are 7 sections per discovery and 8 discoveries per book. T&T clubbers will start in The Ultimate Adventure Book 1 if they are new to the Awana program regardless of whether they are in 3rd or 4th grade. If you are in 3rd grade and you complete the first book you will be required to do the extra credit questions and challenges in book 1. However, if you are in the 4th grade and you complete the 1st book you will be allowed to move to the 2nd book without completing the extra sections, in hopes that you will complete another book before moving to T&T Ultimate Challenge.
T&T Ultimate Challenge Awards After completing each discovery (again 7 sections are in each discovery and there are 8 discoveries per book), you can choose from 16 different patches that will be placed on your uniform. At the end of your 2nd year in T&T Ultimate Challenge you could have acquired all 16 patches. Once you select a badge for your uniform you may not select that same badge again. The badges are to be placed anywhere on the white portion of the jersey. You can design your own uniform placing the badges wherever you like on the white areas Book Completion Awards These awards are presented at the end of the year during the Sparks and T&T awards ceremony. Extra Credit Awards At the end of each Discovery or Challenge there are Silver and Gold extra-credit sections. A clubber must complete ALL of the Silver or Gold sections to receive a Silver Seal or Gold Seal at the end of the year. Silver and Gold sections may be done in any order. However, a Silver Seal must be earned before a Gold Seal. Handbook Review Patches Handbook review patches are awarded to clubbers who recite all answers and verses from one or more books in one sitting. For one book this would equal 32 answers and verses, for two books 64, for three books 96 and for four books 128. Clubbers who complete all Gold sections in a particular book will automatically earn the corresponding book review patch. (The last Gold section of each book requires clubbers to say all 32 answers and verses.) Clubbers must do this in one sitting. Be aware that a clubber s recitation may require more than the time allotted in a regular small group setting. You may want to schedule time before or after club to accommodate your clubbers. As always, the two helps rule applies.
