Dearly Beloved in Christ Greetings to you all in the name of our resurrected Lord and savior Jesus Christ. We are in the midst of 50 days lent, which is to prepare ourselves for a clean life style in relation to fellow human and with God the creator. Lent is not mere abstinence from non vegetarian food items. The restraint that we practice is a token of self discipline and hence must be on anything we think we are too attached to. By practicing this control, we are in effect proving that there is nothing in our life which is unavoidable. In this lent season let us be passionate about a simple act of generosity and encourage others to develop a generous life style- being kind, humble, compassionate, sensitive to others needs, time to revoke the ill feeling towards others, extinguish the ego in oneself, consider others better than yourself, etc.. It is also a time to inculcate and feel the pain and agony that the Lord our God went through. Let us not forget to give more importance for prayer, meditation, fasting & giving. We have completed one more financial year and just entered into a new year with new Kaisthana Samithy members with different challenges and responsibilities. Let us praise God for the committee members of 2013-14. As a parish we would like to appreciate and thank God for their efforts in executing God given opportunities to the best of their abilities for the glory of God and for the overall development of the parish. I also want to thank each of you for your liberal contribution for the smooth functioning of the parish. My absence from the parish for around 3 months was quite unexpected. My heart-felt thanks to all who had uphold us in prayer during the period of my illness. I do believe that, it is the strength of the prayer that had made my pain bearable. As I am still in a healing process, I urge your prayers for a fast recovery. The resurrected Christ is the foundation of our faith. He came to the world and died for our sins, defeated our sins and death experiences and pointed out the ultimate victory through the resurrection. If our Lord had not risen from the dead it would have appeared as if sin and death had the last word in human life. It is the faith in the resurrection that makes a victorious Christian life possible. So Easter is a time of new life. Wish you all a Happy EASTER! Thank You Yours in Christ Liju Achen

Dr. Issac Mar Philoxenos Episcopa Born on 1951, December 5 Ordained as Deacon Ordained as Kasseesa Ordained as Ramban Consecrated as Episcopa 1976, May 29 1976, June 9 1993, August 31 1993, October 2 Mar Philoxenos was born to Mr. A M Issac and Mariamma of Attupurathu House, Cherukole, Mavelikkara. Had his education at Bishop Moore College, Mavelikara, and at the Bishop s College, Kolkata, holds a Master of Theology Degree from the Princeton Theological Seminary, USA and a Doctor of Philosophy from the Benares Hindu University on the subject The doctrine of Grace in Vaishnavism and Christianity. He is the Bishop of the Chennai-Bangalore Diocese, President of the Serampore University, member of the WCC Central Committee, member of the Planning Committee of the WCC General Assembly 2013, President of the Holistic Child Development, India, President of Christian Agency for Rural Development (CARD), Chairperson of Ecumenical Christian Centre, Bangalore and the Board member of CMC Vellore and Gurukul Lutheran Theological College, Chennai. He started the Navjeevan centre, a centre for the rehabilitation of children of the red light areas of Mumbai and also a relief centre for HIV affected patients. Piloted the relief and rehabilitation work of the Church following the earthquake at Latur, Maharashtra and surrounding areas in 1993-1994. He was the president of Kerala Council of Churches; the Chairperson of the unit I of NCCI, Chairperson of CASA western region and Chairman of the Research Committee of the Senate of Serampore He was also the Governing board member of Leonard Theological College, Jabalpur, and Christian Medical College, Ludhiana.
