You still have time to make your pledge to help make our goal of $179,000. It would be wonderful if we could make our goal and also make a strong showing of the number of families who are participating in this years appeal. BREAST CANCER PRESENTATION The Staten Island Breast Cancer Research Initiative Center for Environmental Science will be making a presentation to our parishioners on Wednesday, May 23rd at 7:30 PM in the school auditorium. The presenter will discuss the increased risk of breast cancer living on Staten Island, warning signs, early detection, control and non-controller risks, detection methods, and new research findings. It promises to be a very informative presentation. Please join us. ST. CHARLES BOOK CLUB The next meeting of the St. Charles Book Club will be in the rectory on Thursday, June 7 at 4:00 PM. We will be discussing another N.Y. Times bestseller, Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet by Jamie Ford. This story explores the damage done to individual people during war and invites us into the lives of a Chinese American boy and a young Japanese American girl during a trying time in history.
