Calling Volunteers for Two New Ministry Teams! We hope that you will prayerfully consider joining one of the following two teams. The first one was actually one of the original teams, but is now being activated. We had 5 volunteer names but we hope to add many more. There will be sign up sheets in the hallway across from the church office, or you can call Kathy in the church office to sign up. If possible, it would be great if you could sign up within the next two weeks so that we can schedule a brief, but very important training meeting, at which time we will discuss what our roles should be in these two ministries. Families in Crisis Ministry Team: There are so many ways that a family may find itself in crisis. Sometimes the family members want to talk about it with a member of their church family and sometimes they do not. This ministry team s purpose is to reach out to them and be extremely sensitive to what they need. Above all, this team conveys the thought that you are loved by our church family as well as by God. We are a nonjudgmental people and we are here to represent a loving Father who cares what happens to you. Do not suffer alone let us know what we can do. First Baptist Care Ministry Team: There are times in all of our lives when we would like to be remembered or ministered to, even though we haven t been in the hospital, had a death in our families or a major crisis. Perhaps we have had an injury or illness that has kept us away from church for a while. Maybe we have had a family member in another town that is sick, hurt, or having problems and we feel terribly alone because we can t see them like we would like to. This is a ministry that can involve a short visit, a card or a phone call to let that person know we are thinking of them, give a book that might address their need or take them one of our casseroles, as well as a hug or pat on the back. Just let them know that we care for them.
