1) 64-0213 THEN.JESUS.CAME.AND.CALLED_ TULARE.CA V-22 N-11 THURSDAY_ «8 The other night, I did something and it seemed sacrilegious almost, I believe it was at a ministerial breakfast the other morning. I put Jesus on a trial. I said, "Just as they did then, so do they do today." Maybe it would be good if I repeat it just for a moment, if we have the time. Now, I said, today we find out that... 9 In Luther's reformation, he, in the time of that, he said the just shall live by faith. "The man that believes, he that's got It." But we found out many of them said they believed, and didn't have It. 10 In the days of--of John Wesley, if they got the second blessing, they called it sanctification, entire sanctification, they got happy and shouted. "Everybody shouted, had It." But they found out they didn't have It. A lot of them shouted, and didn't have It. 11 The days of Pentecost, they said, "Now the restoration of the gifts has come, the baptism of the Spirit. He that speaks in tongues, has got It." We find out that many spoke with tongues, and didn't have It. 2) 64-0304 SIRS.WE.WOULD.SEE.JESUS_ DALLAS.TX V-19 N-8 WEDNESDAY_ «33 Through each age, God has lotted so much Word, and the churches get it all confused up, then He sends a prophet among them and vindicates that Word. It's just like any other time, we speak today and say the Methodists... 34 Lutherans said, "When you believe, that's all you have to do; you are justified by faith, believe." Many said they believed, and didn't have It. We know that. 35 Along came Wesley with what called, "second work of grace," sanctification, "All that shouts, and are sanctified, has got It." Many shouted, and didn't have It. 36 Along come the Pentecost, said, "All that speaks with tongues, has got It." Many spoke with tongues, and didn't have It. 37 Along comes the Christian Science, and said, "It's love, the fruit of the Spirit." Many of them shows fruit of the Spirit, and don't have It. 3) 55-1110 A.HIDDEN.LIFE.IN.CHRIST_ SAN.FERNANDO.CA THURSDAY_ «E-20 And that's the same thing it takes to make up the new birth: water, blood and spirit: Justification by faith, believing on the Lord Jesus Christ, cleansing up, the sanctification through the Blood, and then the baptism of the Holy Spirit, to put you in the holiest of holies. Now, that constitutes the--the man who is separated from God and hid away in Christ. I say this with reverence, there's too many of us playing in the courts yet. See? We don't take our lives over with Christ to be hid away. The fruits of the Spirit proves it. You see? That... We might think that we are, but until your life measures up with that... That's what proves it. Jesus said, "By their fruits you shall know them." Not by their denominations, but by their fruit you shall know them. 4) 62-0909M COUNTDOWN_ JEFFERSONVILLE.IN V-11 N-3 SUNDAY_ «37 So if a man sets on the thought of "just justification is all you have to have," he's wrong, wrong. He's got to be wrong. And then if the church who believes like the many of the Pentecostals, that the Holy Ghost is it, "that's all, just repent and get the Holy Ghost," that's still wrong, because you've got to get sanctification in there to cleanse it before the Holy Ghost comes in. If you don't, you leave out the Blood. See? And the new Birth, as people talks that the baptism of the Holy Ghost is the new Birth. Now, that's wrong. The baptism of the Holy Ghost is different from the new Birth. The new Birth is when you're born again. But the Holy Ghost is when power comes into that Birth for service. That's exact. See? The Holy Ghost is... baptized into the Holy Ghost.
5) 62-0909M COUNTDOWN_ JEFFERSONVILLE.IN V-11 N-3 SUNDAY_ «38 The new Birth, you have the new Birth by being believing on the Lord Jesus Christ. See? By having faith and accepting Him as your Saviour, that's Birth, see, because you've passed from death unto Life. Now, if you want to back that up, take Saint John 5:24, "He that heareth My Words and believeth on Him that sent Me, has everlasting Life." See, he's got Life because he believes. And that same group had to go to Pentecost to be baptized with the Holy Ghost. Exact. 39 Holy Ghost is power for service. So when talk about you got to be born again, and applying that to the Holy Ghost, many of the Methodists and so forth are wrong there. It cannot. It just won't cope through the Scripture here. You get the thing sideways. It's got to take it the way the Scripture's got it placed out here. See? And the Holy Spirit is a... "You shall receive the new Birth after this"? What? No. "You shall receive power," Acts 1:8, "after this the Holy Ghost is come upon you." See? And they had already believed to Eternal Life, and so forth, but they had to have the Holy Ghost for power. "You shall be witnesses unto Me after the Holy Ghost is come upon you," because the Holy Ghost is a witness of the resurrection, showing that you have become an adult in Christ. 6) 57-1002 QUESTIONS.AND.ANSWERS.ON.HEBREWS.2_ JEFFERSONVILLE.IN COD WEDNESDAY_ «363 But just trying to make it just a briefly, plain as I know how to make it... No, when you believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, you then have the new birth. When you believe on the Lord, you receive a new thought, a new life, but it isn't the baptism of the Holy Ghost. See? You've got the new birth when you believe; you've got Eternal Life. It's a gift of God that's give to you through sovereign grace by accepting the gift that God is giving to you. See? "He that heareth My Words and believeth on Him that sent Me, hath Eternal Life, has Everlasting Life"; that's the new birth. You're converted; it means you're turned around. But the baptism of the Holy Spirit puts you into the body of Christ, subject to the gifts for service. It doesn't make you any more of a Christian; it just puts you into the body of gifts. See? "Now, by one Spirit (I Corinthians 12) we're all baptized into one body. Now," says Paul, "there are different gifts, and in this body is nine spiritual gifts." And in this body... You have to be baptized into the body to possess one of these gifts. They come with the body. «365 But now, as far as having Eternal Life and being a Christian, you are a Christian the moment you believe. Now, that's not make-believe; that's truly believe on the Lord Jesus and accept Him as your personal Saviour, you're borned again right there, and have Eternal Life. God comes into you. Now, watch. Eternal Life... Jesus said, "He that heareth My Word and believeth on Him that sent Me, hath Eternal Life, and shall not come into the judgment, but's passed from death unto Life." You're a new creature right then. Then Paul had met some of those people up in Acts 19. They had them a preacher up there which was a converted lawyer by the name of Apollos. And Apollos was a mighty man in the Scriptures, and he was proving by the Scriptures that Jesus was the Christ. See?
7) 57-1002 QUESTIONS.AND.ANSWERS.ON.HEBREWS «367 Now, watch. Apollos, through the Word, was proving by the Word. "Faith cometh by hearing, hearing of the Word. He that heareth My Word, and believeth on Him that sent Me, has Everlasting Life." Get it? Apollos, by the Word, was proving... And these were Christians; they were followers, disciples. And Apollos was proving by the Word, that Jesus was the Christ. And they had great joy and received the Word, yet knowing only the baptism of John. And when Paul passed through the upper coasts of Ephesus, he finds these disciples, and he said, "Have you received the Holy Ghost since you have believed?" See? Now, when you believe, Jesus said, "You have Eternal Life." That's the new birth. That's your conversion, changing. But the baptism of the Holy Spirit is the power of God that you're baptized into and are subject to these nine spiritual gifts to work through you; such as, preaching, evangelists, apostles, pastors, prophets... And all the gifts of the body come into this, when you're baptized into this body. And that's--doesn't make you any more a Christian; it just sets you positionally in a place to be a ministering spirit in the church of the living God. Now, you get it? See? «370 Now, the question is... Let's answer it just one by one; there's three questions. By one Spirit we are all baptized into the body of Christ. That's correct, I Corinthians 12 would give the answer to that. All right. At that time we receive the new birth, this takes place? Is that when? That's what they want to know. Yes. "By one Spirit..." No. No. By one Spirit we're all baptized into one body. See, that isn't when the new birth begins; the new birth begins when you believe on the Lord Jesus. Now, see, there's not a--there's not one thing... Now, listen. What can you do besides believe? What more can you do? What can you do about it any more than just believe it? Tell me one thing you could do. There's not one thing that you can do outside of believe it. Now, if anything comes outside of your believing, it isn't an act of your own; it's a act of God. Therefore... «373 Now, if we'd say that when you--the... A lot of times I've seen, many times, people accepting "initial evidence of speaking in tongues" as the Holy Ghost, and sometimes shake the people, or beat them and pat them, saying, "Say it. Say it. Say it. Say it." You know, repeat a word over and over, "Say it. Say it. Say it." See, it's something you're doing yourself. And--and--and it don't... It doesn't... It--it's nothing. You might get a confusion of tongues. You might get a--a lot of things and sensations. But if anything comes outside of your own personal faith, it has to be a Divine gift of God given to you. See? "And by one Spirit we're all baptized into one body." That's correct. See? The baptism of the Holy Ghost is a different act from the new birth. One is a birth; one is a baptism. One brings you Eternal Life; the other one gives you power. It gives power into Eternal Life (See?) to operate. Now, you got it? Okay, all right. 8) 63-0324M QUESTIONS.AND.ANSWERS.ON.THE.SEALS «52 You see, each one of those ages only taken a dip into the Holy Spirit. Justification is a work of the Holy Spirit; sanctification is a work of the Holy Spirit, but the baptism is the Holy Spirit. 9) 63-0320 THE.THIRD.SEAL_ JEFFERSONVILLE.IN WEDNESDAY_ «169 But then, if the Pentecostal message was the last message which justification, sanctification, the baptism of the Holy Ghost... The last three messages, the last three church ages forms the complete birth. Just like when a woman is having--going to have her baby. The actual first thing happens is water; the next thing's blood; the next thing's life. When they killed Jesus at the cross, the substance come from His body to make up the new--to make up the--the birth. They stuck His side, blood and water came out, and "Into Thy hands I commend My Spirit." What came from His body was water, blood, spirit. I John 5:7 tells you about that.
10) 65-0218 THE.SEED.IS.NOT.HEIR.WITH.THE.SHUCK_ JEFFERSONVILLE.IN V-6 N-4 THURSDAY_ «48 Now we understand, also, that God is perfected in threes. Now, God is "perfected" in three. "Grace" is five. Seven is "completion," like the world. God is perfected in Father, Son, Holy Ghost. That's the perfection of the Godhead. All one God, in three manifestations, of three attributes of one office, or three offices in the one Godhead. 49 Now, there is also three in perfection, of the steps of grace, to the Church; justification, sanctification, baptism of the Holy Ghost. That consists of the New Birth, just like a natural birth is typed by it. Which, a woman giving birth to a child, the first thing comes forth is water, blood, and then life. The Bible said, in First John 5:7, or 7:5, I believe it is, that said, "There are three that bear record in Heaven; the Father, the Word," which was the Son, "and the Holy Ghost; these three are One. There are three that bear witness in the earth;" the Word, "the water, blood, and Spirit. Water, blood, and Spirit; these three agree in one." 11) 53-1112 DEMONOLOGY «E-18 For instance, like this: When Jesus died at Calvary, how many--what elements came from His body? Water, blood, Spirit. Is that right? Now, any minister, any believer knows that that's what constitutes the new birth. Is that right? That constitutes the new birth, Saint John 7:5: "For there are three that bear record... of water, blood, and Spirit." When they pierced His side, water and blood came out. He said, "Into Thy hands I commend my Spirit." Those elements went from His body, and it takes those same elements to bring you to His body. That constitutes the new birth. Now, what constitutes a natural birth? It's a mixed audience, but listen. The first thing is water, blood, spirit. See? Everything in the--everything in the natural and spiritual all type together. Watch. Get acquainted with God and you'll see His great move in nature. You see Him in the sunsets, in the flowers, in everywhere. You can see Him all around you because He is all around you. That gives you perfect confidence that you're in love with Him, and you're--he's in love with you. He loved you, predestinated you, foreordained you before the world begin, has brought you here, saved you, cleansed you up, and filled you with His Spirit. Well, how could you have doubt?...?... it. See? That gives you a perfect setting of faith. When you know those things, that gives you courage, and my, you know where you're standing. 12) 61-0312 JEHOVAH.JIREH «E-58 Now, so is the church and Christ. God never said just go make an organization called the so-and-so, or go educate them this. He took His Own Son, and from His heart, three elements came from His body. Excuse me, sisters, I want to make a point. In a natural birth what is the first thing happens in a normal birth? Water, next, blood. What's next? Life. That's the same thing that constitutes the new birth. What was the thing come out of Jesus' side? Water, Blood, "And into Thy hands I commend My Spirit." Saint John, or I John 5:7 said, "There are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, which was the Son, and the Holy Ghost. These three are one." You can't have the Father without having the Son. You can't have the Son without having the Holy Ghost. "These three are one."
