Celebration of Giving Litany MINISTER: It is now time for us to share in giving. Why do we give? CONGREGATION: We give because all we have comes from God. According to Deuteronomy 8:18, it is God who gives us the power to get wealth. MINISTER: Why do we give? CONGREGATION: We give because God commands us. Malachi 3:10 states that we are to bring the full tithe into God s storehouse. MINISTER: Why do we give? CONGREGATION: We give because God said in Luke 6:38, to give and He would give back to us a more abundant blessing. MINISTER: Why do we give? CONGREGATION: We give because 2 Corinthians 9:7 states that God loves a cheerful giver. ALL: Thank you Lord, for the privilege of giving. We are excited about paying the tithe and giving the offering. We know that you are faithful to your promises. Therefore, we trust you in faith to do what you have said. AMEN!

Dear Mt. Calvary Family: We will be hosting our seventh 3 rd Sunday Fellowship Dinner after the 11:00 a.m. service in November. The sixth 3 rd Sunday Fellowship Dinner was a success on Sunday, October 16, 2016. A special thank you to members who participated in the preparation, clean-up, purchases and donations. The Culinary Ministry will lead this effort, but we are asking others to assist. The cost of the dinner is $10 each. The primary purpose of the fellowship dinners is to allow members to relax after church service and fellowship with each other. All proceeds in excess of the cost of the meals will be donated to the church s building fund. To assist with planning and preparations, advance purchases for November can be made on November 6 and 13, 2016, outside of the Leon Grant Family Life Center following both services. This will help us estimate the number of dinners to prepare. We are hoping that most individuals will purchase meals in advance. We welcome individuals to sit and fellowship with each other, but if you cannot, dinners to go will be available. Tribes may want to consider coming together at this time and having a Tribe Fellowship Dinner in the Leon Grant Family Life Center. The November 20, 2016, meal will consist of meatloaf (turkey or beef), mixed vegetables, mash potatoes and gravy, rolls, dessert and beverage (bottled water or soda). For additional information or to volunteer, please contact Shirley Coney-Johnson at 301.946.5486 or Brenda Shelton at 301.680.7920. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ORDER FORM PLEASE PRINT Name Phone Number # of Dinners Meal Cost Amount Due Meatloaf Turkey or Beef $10/meal Special Instructions: Date Received: Amount Due: Amount Paid: Received By:
Prayer Class I strongly suspect that if we saw all the difference even the tiniest of our prayers make, and all the people those little prayers were destined to affect, and all the consequences of those prayers down through the centuries, we would be so paralyzed with awe at the power of prayer that we would be unable to get up off our knees for the rest of our lives. ~Peter Kreeft, Professor of Philosophy, Boston College Would you like to pray more? Better? Stronger? With more fire, faith, and fervency? Then this class is for you. You are invited to join the Sunday Morning Prayer class at 9:30 a.m. in the church Chapel. There we will explore what the word of God has to say about prayer. Come and learn about the power of prayer and how it will make a difference in your life. Leaders Deacon James C. Boone and Deacon Frances Brown
