Dear Friends, A NOTE FROM OUR RECTOR What's your story? We all have one. We actually all have many. We have the story of our life, the story of how we came to our current job, the story of how we met our spouse or partner, the story of how we left a painful relationship, the story of how we fought cancer, the story of a friend or loved one who fought and lost. These stories go on and on. They probably grow and change in the telling and remembering, but they are the stories we tell ourselves to help make meaning out of our lives. There are also other stories. Not so much the ones we tell ourselves, but the ones given to us. Some of these are helpful, but many are not. Our culture assigns us a host of stories about who we are, what we should believe, where we should place value, and how to figure it all out.

This Sunday we'll be taking time to think through all of this together. What's your story? What's our story? I hope to see you there! God bless, Fr. Quinn+ PARISH NEWS Blessing of the Animals This Sunday Don t miss our St. Francis Day Celebration on Sunday, October 1, at 4:30 pm in the upper parking lot. Thanks for your support! St. Peter s Youth (SPY) Community If you want to be in the Big Brother Big Sister Program, Kelsey needs to know by this week. Dates to Remember: October 1: Blessing of the Animals October 8: Happening Registration Due October 15: Acolyte Training October 18: Renewal of Ministries Service (and Permission Slips Due) Adult Sunday School We have resumed our usual 10:00 am Adult Sunday school schedule. You are welcome to all of the following: The Table, in the Conference Room upstairs with Rachelle Parman Spiritual Explorations, in the Library upstairs with Jaye Harris Book Discussion Class, in the small classroom downstairs with Susan Self The Rector s Class, in Adult Education 1 downstairs with Fr. Quinn Coming Soon for Your Convenience In today s world, we realize that many people wish to make their contributions to the church using debit cards, credit cards, or smart phones. You will soon have the opportunity to do just that at St. Peter s Church. A small device (a mini ATM) will be placed in the Narthex (lobby) on Sundays, and you may make your donations before or after the services. No one will be able to see your transaction and no one will ever have access to your account information. It is extremely secure and very simple to operate. Some of our Vestry members and ushers have

been trained to help, in case you need assistance. It is our hope that this will prove useful to many of our parishioners and guests. This doesn t affect the donations of cash or checks in any way, nor does it change the way our offering is collected by the ushers during our services.
