But in this reading from John s Gospel, Jesus first refers to himself as the gate through which the sheep come to safety. The thieves are those people who try to enter God s kingdom by some other gate. The sheep are those who recognize Jesus as the only door to the green pasture of eternal and abundant life. When a shepherd calls his own sheep they follow him because they recognize his voice. We too, recognize Jesus voice as He cares for us as a good shepherd and as our leader and guide. This week spend some time reflecting on this passage. Discern how Jesus is a gate for your life and how He keeps you safe. Together as a family determine how you can help others recognize Jesus as the gate for their lives. As you continue your Easter journey, reflect on the open gate that invites you into God s grace, the authentic voice that calls all of us to the path of salvation. CUARTO DOMINGO DE PASCUA Queridos Hermanos en Cristo, Un Mensaje del Padre Don Todos estamos familiarizados con la imagen de Jesús como el buen pastor. Pero en esta lectura del Evangelio de Juan, Jesús primero se refiere a sí mismo como "la puerta" a través de la cual las ovejas estan seguras. Los ladrones son aquellas personas que intentan entrar en el Reino de Dios por alguna otra puerta. Las ovejas son las que reconocen a Jesús como la única puerta que las conducen al pasto verde de la vida eterna y abundante. Cuando un pastor llama a su oveja lo siguen porque reconocen su voz. Nosotros también, reconocemos la voz de Jesús como él nos cuida como un buen pastor y como nuestro líder y guía. Esta semana pasa un tiempo reflexionando sobre este pasaje. Discierne cómo Jesús es una puerta para tu vida y cómo te mantiene a salvo. Juntos como una familia determinen cómo ustedes pueden ayudar a otros a reconocer a Jesús como la puerta para sus vidas.
