January 28, 2018 through February 4, 2018 is the sabbatical. Please refrain from conducting any business meetings during this week. Annual Church Meeting February 5, 2018: Annual Church Meeting will be held on Monday, February 5, 2018, at 7:00 p.m. in the Church Fellowship Hall. Church Pictorial Directories: If you were photographed for our Church Directory, your free directory is ready to be picked up today following our worship service in the Foyer. Only one directory per family photographed will be given. Thank you for participating in this effort: Please note that only those families who took pictures will receive a directory. Tithes and Offering: Individual Boxed envelopes may be picked up today at the Welcome Center or from any usher. UCIBS Classes: Union Chapel Institute of Biblical Studies classes have already begun for the spring semester. There is still time to register for Bible College classes. Courses offered this semester will be New Testament, Min. Sylvesta Lee, Instructor, Barbering, (5 Students Limited), Min. Leo Robinson, Instructor, Abraham, Pt. 1, Min. Harold Weatherly, Prophecy Overview, Pt. 2, Min. Joyce Campbell and Keys to Effective Prayer, Min. Nettie Pruitt, Instructor. Registration forms are at the Welcome Center. If you want to enhance your biblical knowledge, we urge you to decide to take one of the above mentioned courses. Tuition is free; however, you are responsible for the cost of your books. Bible Study January 31, 2018: The Women s Ministry Monthly Bible Study will begin on this Wednesday, January 31, 2018, at 7:00 p.m. in the sanctuary. Marriage Enrichment Seminar February 9, 2018: The Women s Ministry is sponsoring a Marriage Enrichment Seminar on Friday, February 9, 2018, 6:00 p.m. 8:30 p.m. in the Boone-Lacy Fellowship Hall. Pastor and Sister Davis will serve as facilitators; the seminar will cover The Four Seasons of Marriage. Historically Black College and University School Spirit Day February 11, 2018: Sunday, February 11, 2018, has been designated as HBCU School Spirit Day. Join the Education Assistance Ministry as we kickoff our Annual Historically Black College and University Fair. Show your school spirit. We are asking all members to wear your favorite HBCU colors and/or gear. Visit the Mississippi Civil Rights Museum and the Museum of Mississippi History March 17, 2018: The fee to enter is $10.00 per person. This payment will be accepted in the Church Office during regular business hours. Your name must appear the sign-up sheet in order to pay. Weekly Meetings/Seminars and Conferences Intercessory Prayer Ministry The Intercessory Prayer Ministry held on Wednesdays before Noonday Bible Study will resume on Wednesday, January 31, 2018. Youth Department Union Chapel Christian Academy We are GROWING. Union Chapel Christian Academy is now officially a k5 thru 7 th grade school and enrolling for the 2018 2019 school year. For more information, please stop by during regular school hours for a tour or call for more information. Education Assistance Ministry February 17, 2018: The Education Assistance Ministry will host the Annual Historically Black College and University Fair on Saturday, February 17, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The HBCU Fair will be at the Union Chapel Missionary Baptist Church Charles L. Ray, Jr. Family Life Center. We will have representatives from over 30 colleges to discuss opportunities, scholarships, and admission requirements. There will be a financial aid session designed to help parents complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid and identify other funding sources for college tuition and expenses. Collegiate Age Ministry (CAM): If you are a student in college or a parent of a student in college, you are asked to fill out an informational form located at the Welcome Center. If you have any questions or need additional information, please contact Min. Marquis Thompson or Sis. Lidia George. Volunteers Needed: The Youth Ministry is currently seeking additional volunteers to serve in the Nursery, Children s Church (primarily 10:45 a.m. Worship Service) and Teen s Church Ministry. Transportation Ministry Transportation Ministry: The Transportation Ministry is in need of additional drivers for Sunday morning pick-ups for the both the 7:45 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. worship services. Employment Opportunities Computer Technician/Part-time: Union Chapel Missionary Baptist Church is now accepting application forms for a Part-time Computer Technician. Qualifications: Proven experience as computer technician or similar role; experience with networks, thorough knowledge of computer systems and IT components, good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles, excellent troubleshooting skills, very good communication abilities, exceptional organizing and time-management skills, BS/BA in Computer Science, engineering, information technology, or relevant field, relevant certifications will be an advantage.
