Rest In Peace Our sincerest sympathies go to the family and friends of Mary Kimak, Francesco Faleri, Josephine McConnell and Burton Green. May their souls, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen. The Sanctuary Candle for this week was donated in loving memory of Mr. and Mrs. Leon Radwanski The St. Vincent De Paul Society monthly monetary collection will now be gathered through a second collection instead of at the doors to the church. In addition, an extra collection has been added for July and August in an attempt to meet the needs of our neighbors. Next weekend s second collection will be for SVDP. If you miss the basket when it is passed, please leave your donation in the poor box by the doors. Thank you! We honor and offer a heartfelt thank you to all who share their time and talents at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church and the community. It is an unfortunate truth that some of us may know a Catholic who has stopped attending weekly Mass. We may also know a CEO (a Catholic who attends Mass on Christmas and Easter Only) who seems to suddenly appear out of nowhere and, just as quickly, vanish until the next Holy Day of Obligation. How many of us though, are privileged to know someone that has attended our church, or any Catholic Church, prior to becoming a Catholic? Allow us to introduce Fran Michaels. In 2008, Fran began attending Saint Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, a full three years prior to becoming a Catholic. I heard the call of the Lord, Fran said, To come to his house of worship. Fran humbly responded, and eagerly became involved in a Tuesday evening prayer group. In 2011, Fran had a busy year. In January, after seeking our Lord s guidance through prayer and solitude, she enrolled in RCIA (the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) program. At the 2011 Easter Vigil Mass, Fran was baptized by Father Jim Ruhlin, (our current Pastor) who, at the time, was an Associate Pastor here at Saint Michael s Parish. Fran had taken the final steps on her faith journey to become a Catholic... You won t want to miss the rest of Fran s story! You can find it on our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/stmichaelhudson, or open Facebook and type @stmichaelhudson in the search bar; then click on our picture. DEDICATION OF THE BRICK PAVER MEMORIAL...come away by yourselves to a lonely place and rest awhile. ~ Mark 6:31 Do you spend time, every day, alone and in silence listening to how God is calling you? If not, you are missing out on a wonderful opportunity to develop a more personal relationship with Him. Unless we talk and more importantly, listen to God every day, how else will we know how He is calling us? Consider making a retreat this year, spend some alone time with God. Please plan to join us at 5:00PM on Saturday, August 4th, for the dedication of the Eagle Scout Brick Paver Memorial. I want to thank everyone who participated in the success of this project and all of those whom this project honors. We hope to see everyone at the dedication! ~ Daniel Sterbens For our men and women in uniform past, present and future... God bless you and thank you.
