May 6 th, 2018 This is the day that the LORD has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24 Please greet those around you before the announcements begin. Welcome and Announcements Time of Greeting (Sharing God s Welcome) Moments of Meditation * * * While the music is being played, quietly prepare your heart for worship. Holy, holy, holy is the LORD Almighty; the whole earth is full of His glory. Isaiah 6:3 Holy God, We Praise Your Name arr. Hildebrand Call to Worship Psalm 107:1-15 *Hymn of Praise All Praise to God, Who Reigns Above No. 4 All praise to God, who reigns above, the God of all creation, the God of wonders, pow r, and love, the God of our salvation! With healing balm my soul He fills, the God who every sorrow stills. What God s almighty pow r hath made His gracious mercy keepeth; by morning dawn or evening shade His watchful eye ne er sleepeth; within the kingdom of His might, lo, all is just and all is right. I cried to Him in time of need: Lord God, O hear my calling! For death He gave me life indeed and kept my feet from falling. For this my thanks shall endless be; O thank Him, thank our God with me.

The Lord forsaketh not His flock, His chosen generation; He is their refuge and their rock, their peace and their salvation. As with a mother s tender hand He leads His own, His chosen band. Ye who confess Christ s holy name, to God give praise and glory! Ye who the Father s pow r proclaim, to God give praise and glory! All idols underfoot be trod, the Lord is God! The Lord is God! Then come before His presence now and banish fear and sadness; to your Redeemer pay your vow and sing with joy and gladness; Though great distress my soul befell, the Lord, my God, did all things well. *Prayer of Invocation Scripture Reading Responsive Reading of Psalm 19 Hymnal page 790 The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge. There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard. Their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world. In the heavens He has pitched a tent for the sun, which is like a bridegroom coming forth from his pavilion, like a champion rejoicing to run his course. It rises at one end of the heavens and makes its circuit to the other; nothing is hidden from its heat. The law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul.

The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple. The precepts of the Lord are right, giving joy to the heart. The commands of the Lord are radiant, giving light to the eyes. The fear of the Lord is pure, enduring forever. The ordinances of the Lord are sure and altogether righteous. They are more precious than gold, than much pure gold; they are sweeter than honey, than honey from the comb. By them is your servant warned; in keeping them there is great reward. Who can discern his errors? Forgive my hidden faults. Keep your servant also from willful sins; may they not rule over me. Then will I be blameless, innocent of great transgression. May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in Your sight, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer. Prayer of Confession Most gracious and most merciful God, we confess to You and to one another that time after time we have entered Your presence with countless prayers but with hearts that have been closed to Your grace. We have lifted our hearts to You in praise, but our feet have still walked in the ways of evil. We have rehearsed Your commandments but have refused to see Your face in the needs of our neighbor. We pray, Lord, that You forgive our lack of faith and pardon our acts of injustice. Grant us the healing that comes from Your presence and the cleansing of Your all-powerful Word, through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Assurance of Pardoning Grace Galatians 6:14-16 14 May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. 15 Neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything; what counts is a new creation. 16 Peace and mercy to all who follow this rule, even to the Israel of God. *Hymn of Thanksgiving Fairest Lord Jesus No. 170 Fairest Lord Jesus, Ruler of all nature, Son of God and Son of Man! Thee will I cherish, Thee will I honor, Thou, my soul s glory, joy, and crown. Fair are the meadows, fair are the woodlands, robed in the blooming garb of spring: Jesus is fairer, Jesus is purer, who makes the woeful heart to sing. Fair is the sunshine, fair is the moonlight, and all the twinkling, starry host: Jesus shines brighter, Jesus shines purer than all the angels heav n can boast. Beautiful Savior! Lord of the nations! Son of God and Son of Man! Glory and honor, praise, adoration, now and forevermore be Thine. Receiving of New Communicant Member: Grayden Lash Prayer of Intercession Tithes and Offering My Shepherd Will Supply My Need arr. Wilson My Shepherd will supply my need; Jehovah is His Name; In pastures fresh He makes me feed beside the living stream. He brings my wand ring spirit back when I forsake His ways, And leads me, for His mercy s sake, in paths of truth and grace.

*Hymn of Response All for Jesus! No. 565 All for Jesus, all for Jesus! All my being s ransomed powers: All my thoughts and words and doings, all my days and all my hours. Let my hands perform His bidding, let my feet run in His ways; Let my eyes see Jesus only, let my lips speak forth His praise. Worldlings prize their gems of beauty, cling to gilded toys of dust, boast of wealth and fame and pleasure; only Jesus will I trust. Since my eyes were fixed on Jesus, I ve lost sight of all beside; so enchained my spirit s vision, looking at the Crucified. O what wonder! how amazing! Jesus, glorious King of kings, deigns to call me His belovèd, lets me rest beneath His wings. *Benediction *Gloria Patri No. 735 Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. No Children s Bible Time Today: There will be no Children s Bible Time on the Sundays when The Lord s Supper is scheduled. Learning a New Hymn or Chorus Each Month: The Worship Committee realizes that there are many hymns and choruses that are new to the congregation but they are worth our time to get to know them better. For the next few months, a song will be sung during the offertory and will be repeated for 3 to 4 weeks so the song can be sung prayerfully once we learn the melody and lyrics. Graduations / Open Houses: * Leam Armstrong s graduation party will be Saturday, June 2, from 1-3 pm at Jackson Farms on Route 6 (Event room is in front of the horse stables.) Lots of food, friends, and fun! Please come celebrate with him. * Briana Marshall s high school graduation is at Liberty Bible Church on Saturday, June 2, at 2 pm. Everyone is invited! (Details regarding a party at later date.) * Kendra Vanderstar s Open House is Friday, June 22, at 5 pm at the Vanderstar s house (105 DeWitt Court, LaPorte). Come celebrate with Kendra! * Kenton Greene graduates from Calvin College in Grand Rapids on Saturday, May 19. Wish him and his family well as he celebrates this big accomplishment! Community Garden: Randy Pals has volunteered to be the new coordinator of the community garden. If you or someone you know is interested in a plot, please talk to Randy. This is a wonderful outreach to the community.

Committee Chairs Meeting: Chairpersons and/or other designated members are requested to please attend this meeting scheduled for this Tuesday, May 15, at 7 pm. The goal is to communicate, coordinate, and plan together upcoming ministry activities. This is especially important as summer activities are being planned! These Committee Chair meetings have served this purpose well, so please come and bring ideas. Each committee should have 1-2 representatives at the meeting. Safety Reminder: As our children begin enjoying spring Sundays in our church yard, parents need to provide appropriate oversight when the children cross the parking lot on the way to the playground and as they play on the playground. Drivers, please be aware that children will be crossing our parking lot, particularly after church on their way to the playground.
