WORSHIP NOTES The flowers in the Sanctuary are given to the Glory of God and for the love and care I receive from my wonderful wife, Barbara from Jerry Fedeler. The rosebuds at the side of the pulpit this morning are in celebration of the births of: Arlo Ellis Funt, born April 22, son of Carrie Spilecki and Jamie Funt and brother to Neve and Talia. Saoirse Maeve Spilecki, born May 10, daughter of Siobhan and Andy Spilecki and sister to Sinead. Arlo and Saoirse are the grandchildren of Sue and Jerry Spilecki and the great-grandchildren of Bob Kline. Sanctuary Flowers - Consider giving the flowers for Sunday worship to remember or honor loved ones or to celebrate an event, while expressing praise and thanksgiving to God. Please contact Linda Watson during business hours at 302-571-6719 or lwatson@ycst.com. An available date is June 8. All children who leave the sanctuary after Time with Our Children must have a completed yellow security label on their back. If you do not find a security label in the pew pocket, you may obtain one in the Preschool Suite. This policy is for your child s protection. Thank you for your help. Are you wearing a nametag? Whether you are a long-time member or new to the church, wearing a nametag provides others the opportunity to meet you, greet you by name, and for you to become more familiar with others at church. You will find nametags and markers in baskets at all major entrances. Worship Resources You may obtain large print hymn sheets and hearing devices from any usher. Worship bags for children ages 3-6 include a children s bulletin designed for them. Children s bulletins for ages 7-12 are also available from the ushers. ORDER OF WORSHIP MUSIC OF THE TOWER BELLS Craig Checkel PREPARATION FOR WORSHIP Almighty God, in Christ you have shown us the way, revealed to us your truth, and offered us everlasting life. Amen. WELCOME AND ANNOUNCEMENTS Greg Jones Please sign your name and pass the red folder to the person next to you. As folders are returned to the center aisle, note the names of fellow worshipers on your pew. PRELUDE Concerto in C major Franz Joseph Haydn I. The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone. Once we were no people; now we are the people of God. *HYMN NO. 624 I Greet Thee, Who My Sure Redeemer Art TOULON Verses 1, 3, 5 CALL TO CONFESSION PRAYER OF CONFESSION Almighty God, your word offers freedom from sin, but we confess that we have not obeyed your word. We have harbored malice toward our enemies; we have been deceitful in our relationships; we have been insincere in our commitments; through gossip we have slandered our friends. Forgive us our sins and lead us to genuine repentance. Help your children long for your pure, spiritual milk that we may grow into the joy of salvation through Jesus Christ. Amen. 4

Please join us after the service for summer tea. Musical leadership for this morning s worship: The Westminster Choir Diana Milburn, soprano Sharon Babcock, mezzo-soprano Justin Gonzalez, tenor Jerry Polman, bass Violin I: Violin II: Cello: Bass: Orchestra Lisa Vaupel, Donna Rudolph, Elissa Wagman Erica Miller, Irina Schuck, Kathleen Hastings Mark Ward, Karen Ahramjian Arthur Marks Paul Fleckenstein, organist/ conductor Composers throughout the ages have created musical settings of the Mass, which comprises the liturgical texts referred to as the Ordinary, or those texts which are the same in any Mass the main service of worship in the Roman Catholic tradition. Mozart composed a number of Mass settings, many of which were intended for use in the Cathedral (and other churches) in Salzburg, Austria, in the 18 th century. While most churches of the Reform tradition today do not strictly adhere to these texts in their weekly worship, we hope that the enduring beauty of this music, inspired by God and created by one of the greatest musical geniuses of all time, will still speak to worshippers today and in the years to come. 7
