The Campground Witness Quarterly Newsletter Printed in: MARCH/June/September/December Acts 1:8 (NKJV) And you shall be witnesses to me to the end of the earth Volume 42 Number 1 MARCH 2017 Hollister, MO From The President: My dear brothers and sisters what a blessing to address you today. As I have talked with many people and looked at ways to help build this organization I am reminded of a scripture in Isaiah 54:2-3 Isaiah 54:2-3. Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thine habituations: spare not, lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes; For thou shalt break forth on the right hand and on the left; and thy seed shall inherit the Gentiles, and make the desolate cities to be inhabited. This was good news for the poor Gentiles, who were so long spiritually barren, but whose seed was to spread all over the earth. This prophecy has been already fulfilled in a great measure, and the very wording of it is a direction to us if we desire to see the Church of God increased. Make ready for God s blessing, you who are pining and groaning for greater things than these; God is about to bless you. Enlarge your tents; lengthen the cords, and strengthen the stakes; prepare for the coming blessing, for you are to have better and brighter days than you have ever yet known. Therefore, be no more sad, but look forward with joyful anticipation to the good things in store for you. (Spurgeon s commentary) While most of us today camp in some form of RV I find the relation to tents very intriguing. Campers for Christ is no doubt at a place many might consider spiritually barren, but our seed is intended to spread over the earth or at least North America. I believe God is about to bless us as an organization. Right now we need to do the things to prepare. As it says enlarge our tents, lengthen our cords, strengthen the stakes and prepare for the coming blessing. As we go forward from this point our board is working to identify chapters to reactivate, talking to interested individuals both current and potential members, evaluating ways to get the word out about us. All of this is in preparation for better and brighter days more so then we have ever known. I can t tell you what this group will look like in 6 months, 1 year or 5 years. What I can tell you is that as we all come together and serve Jesus we will see the coming blessing. Our rallies will become places not only of great fellowship but places of miracles, salvations, healings and restoration. We should all be looking forward with joyful anticipation. I am excited for the leadership team that the Lord has put together for such a time as this. It is truly an honor to serve you and this organization knowing they we are working to make the desolate cities inhabited. The desolate cities are the campgrounds of America. What an incredible mission field we have and an incredible opportunity for fellowship. Will you help? Be blessed Camping in the Shadow of the Cross. Reverend Robb Judkins, President Campers for Christ Ministries

A SPECIAL MESSAGE FROM OUR PRESIDENT Dear CFC Family, I wanted to take a moment and say hello to you. I am truly humbled to be used of the Lord to lead this ministry. A responsibility I take very seriously and has resulted in many in depth conversations with the LORD. My wife Jody and I look forward to meeting many of you and getting to know you. As most of you know Campers for Christ membership has declined in the past few years leading to several chapters going inactive. While there are, several reasons leading to this, I won t go there right now. The purpose of this email is to be encouraging and positive to you. As we move forward now look for many things to be happening. The new board all agrees on one thing. We have to grow the organization. This is not only so it continues to exist for the benefit of our current members but also so that we can be a ministry in the camping world. It is my understanding that the original founders of CFC intended this as an End Times Ministry. That the closer we get to the end times the greater the Economic impact will be on the world. Many people will be forced from their homes and live in RV s and tents to survive. We already see this today. One thing for sure whether you believe in the Great Tribulation or you don t, whether you believe in the rapture or you don t, and whether you believe in Pre Trib, Mid Trib or Post Trib, we can all agree that times are going to get more difficult in this earthly world. There are and will be many lost souls in need of ministering. What does all this mean. I have been looking at Camping and RV industry statistics. The Recreational Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA) says that in 2017 they expect to ship 438,00 units in the United States. Up 4.4% from 2016 at 419,500. These numbers are up 161% from bottom of market in 2009. The 2016 numbers included 366,000 towable RV s and 53,000 Motorhomes. With 2017 expected 383,00 towable and 55,000 motorhomes. RVIA also says that in 2015 there were 40.02 Million campers in the United States. 20016 also had 8.9 million US households owning an RV. Up from 7.9 Million in 2005. 1 in 12 vehicle owning households in the US owns an RV. To me this means we have a huge mission field whether recreational campers or full timers by choice or not. In the next few weeks I hope to have a number that will provide a target number for 2017 for the number of chapters to end the year with and then of course a target for 2018 as well. This will give us some direction and goals to strive for as we attempt to grow the organization. This number is by no means an effort to grow us just to be a bigger organization. This isn t about numbers. This is about increasing to a huge faith based camping network/ministry throughout the United States and someday to Canada again as well. Some of you have already been contacted and we are in the process of contacting others to see who would be interested in helping to reactivate and even start new chapters. Please prayerfully consider how you may help. Perhaps leading a chapter, serving as a wagon master or in some other way locally or nationally. Some of you the Lord has asked to do something and you haven t. Please let us know how you can help. Please don t hesitate to contact me at any time not only to tell me how you can help but also to give your input as to what you would like to see from Campers for Christ. There are those who would say I just opened a can of worms. I gladly do so because I want your voices heard. Not to get political but President Trump won an election with a promise to Make America Great Again. My promise to you is to Make Christian Camping Great Again. May you all Be Blessed Camping in the Shadow of the Cross. Robb Judkins, President, Campers for Christ International

Chaplain s Corner: Blessing and greetings in the most high name of Jesus Christ! Campers this is The Message the World Needs to Hear: Mark 16:15-20 And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved; but he who has disbelieved shall be condemned. These signs will accompany those who have believed: in My name they will cast out demons, they will speak with new tongues; they will pick up serpents, and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover." So then, when the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God. And they went out and preached everywhere, while the Lord worked with them, and confirmed the word by the signs that followed. [And they promptly reported all these instructions to Peter and his companions. And after that, Jesus Himself sent out through them from east to west the sacred and imperishable proclamation of eternal salvation.] Suppose I asked what the mission of the church is--how would you answer? Although the church accomplishes many tasks, its only message to the world is the gospel of Christ. Everything else we do is merely an extension of that primary goal. The gospel we offer the lost is superior to every worldly philosophy. Never outdated or in need of correction, it is always sufficient to meet humanity's greatest need: reconciliation with the Creator. Although the message is always the same, methods of making it known are many--including the spoken word, music, printed material, and electronic media. But all these avenues of communication require the individual involvement of God's people. It is every Christian's responsibility to use his or her spiritual gifts, talents, and abilities to help fulfill the Great Commission. Some Christians think that this role is given only to pastors, missionaries, or other people with an "up-front ministry." But all of us have the responsibility to be involved in whatever way we are able and in whatever opportunity God gives us. Not everybody is called to go abroad as a missionary, but we all can give, pray, and tell friends and family what the Lord has done for us. When you're truly committed to getting the gospel out, God will reveal what work He is calling you to do. He has a place for every one of us--nobody is insignificant or unusable. The limiting factor is not the Lord's ability to use us but our availability to His call. Until we meet again, KEEP LOOKING UP! In His service, Dusty Guy, Senior Chaplin CFC Rally Reports Exodus Chapter Rally Report February 15-17 2017, The Lord gave us a new beginning for our Exodus chapter. We held our meetings outside the church campground around the campfire. The Lord has really blessed us with Pastor Bruce allowing us to use the church s campgrounds at a reasonable cost. This is the first time we had a lot of people just drop by and join us including the people that were camped out there already. There was disappointment that we were leaving so soon. A big thank you was given to Dan and Cathleen Johnson for taking their time to distribute our rally flyers all over Quartzsite. I gave a testimony how beautiful the Lord molds us for He is the Potter and we are the Clay. To see Dan grow in the Lord and hear his preaching was so precious. What a wonderful God we serve. We sang and worshipped the Lord and our speakers gave a campfire Devotional rather informal but very effective. We attracted a number of folks who were camped nearby. We started in the morning with a campfire, coffee and breakfast items. On Wednesday we were so fortunate to have Robb

Judkins our new International Campers for Christ President attend and bring an encouraging word to us. Our fellowship was constant for three days with testimonies, singing and talking about the future of Campers for Christ and our Exodus Chapter in particular. Out of all this there came a determination to have many meetings in primitive sites where we can reach the lost. The Lord gave us a message through Ken Pixley from Isaiah about here am I send me. Encouraging us to become more Evangelistic and doing God s work. Richard and June Bartz ministered to us on Thursday. We were able to see the Lord s Grace on them as they shared with us from their Missionary background in Indonesia. Friday morning Ron Keller led us in Communion Service like no other. The Communion elements, broken bread and wine were served from a paper plate. He then asked each one of us to share what Communion means to us. It was a very uplifting and a special Communion indeed. We held an election of new officers at our Business meeting on Friday New Officers President Ken Pixley Vice President Ron Keller Secretary Ronnie Pixley Treasurer June Bartz Chaplain Dan Johnson Our next meeting will be November 8 10 2017. Place ASSEMBLY OF GOD CAMPGROUND Friends, I had the opportunity to visit the Exodus Chapter this morning as they started this weeks rally. It was great to arrive and see that they had a campfire burning and ready to begin their meeting out in the campground. It was a truly beautiful day in the desert. Ken Pixley opened the prayer circle as everyone prayed their needs and agreement was shared amongst the group. Joan Keller led some great worship ushering in the Holy Spirit. Ken Pixley gave a great message from Isaiah 6 "Here I am, send me!", to which several people added testimony. Following this just a great time of fellowship was had that spilled over to lunch about the time I had to leave. This was particularly exciting to me to see several long time members overjoyed and excited with this new format (for this chapter) outdoors. Great enthusiasm was shared about the future of Campers for Christ. I was particularly excited to see a new couple here for the first time from Colorado expressing an interest to help get a chapter up and running. With this and some other people being talked with we could potentially have 3 chapters reactivating in the next few months. Exciting times.

At the risk of sounding like a broken record I again ask each of you to ask the Lord how you can help. It s as simple as saying "here I am Lord, use me." I would like to extend an invitation to everyone to consider attending the Emmanuel Chapter rally in Southern California April 27-May 1. More info to be sent later. Of course you can always check the website at www.campers4christ.org for more information as we get chapters reactivated. Be blessed camping in the shadow of the cross. Rev. President Charles Sively called the meeting to order at 2:30 p.m. and opened with prayer in the Family Lodge at Wilderness Lakes Resort, Menifee, CA. Officers Present: Charles Sively, President; Ron Keller, Treasurer; Betty Bergfalk, Secretary, and Ronnie Pixley, Membership. Absent: Charles Shockley, Vice President and Leesa Verdot, Editor. Appointed Officers Present: Ken Pixley, West Region Asst. to the President and Richard Bartz, Website Manager. Members at Large Present: Vernon Bergfalk, Joan Keller, June Bartz, Robb and Jody Judkins, Don Johnson, JudyWise, Betty Pommer, John Pommer, Bill and Anjee Whortan, Sharon Carnes, Bob and Tiffany Wade, Tammie Lewis, Jerry Branam and Lynn Sears, Dave and Betty Johnson, Ralph and Jeanette Hood and Elaine Shaw. Robb Judkins, California Emmanuel Chapter president and host, chaired the meeting. He stated that membership in local chapters has dwindled in the past several years because many former members became too elderly or sick to do RV camping, have died, or are no longer interested. Memberships are beginning to make a comeback with many CFC Website inquiries about Christian camping, resulting in several new members from various locations. At the current time, we have only two actively expanding chapters; Arizona and California, with none in Canada. One on the east coast holds its own occasional rallies, but members have not traveled to any western rallies. Rich Bartz spoke briefly on extending the CFC vision and Ronnie Pixley stated that we had 38 new members join in 2015/2016. Dr. Don Johnson asked if voting could be done online. Ron Keller replied that it would be something to look toward doing in the future. Lynn Sears spoke briefly to encourage other chapters to meet in open campground settings to attract more persons to CFC ministries. Outgoing President, Charles Sivley opened nominations from the floor for new officers. Jody Judkins nominated Robb Judkins for President, 2 nd by Vern Bergfalk. Robb accepted the nominations and he was elected unanimously by the members present. Nominations for each of the other officers were opened as follows. Rich Bartz nominated Ron Keller as V.P., 2 nd by Ken Pixley. Ken Pixley nominated Betty Bergfalk as Secretary, 2 nd by Ron Keller Ronnie Pixley nominated June Bartz as Treasurer, 2 nd by Joan Keller. Rich Bartz nominated Ronnie Pixley as Membership, 2 nd by Joan Keller. Ron Keller nominated Leesa Verdot as Editor, 2 nd by Ken Pixley. The above nominations were voted upon in unanimous agreement by the members present to elect each person so named. No further business was necessary. Vernon made a motion, 2 nd by Betty Pommer, for the Election of Officers Meeting to adjourn. Meeting adjourned at 3:20 p.m. Respectfully submitted, Betty Bergfalk
