All parishioners are requested to pay their parish dues of $160.00 per adult member. Keep in mind that $100.00 of this amount is sent to our Diocese in south Bound Brook, NJ, as was decided at our Church Sobor. The balance of $60.00 remains in our parish. That is why it is important to use your weekly offering envelopes to help maintain the work of the parish. Throughout the year, there are numerous federal holidays commemorating various events. One of them is Thanksgiving Day. Celebrated on the 4 th Thursday of November, this day has been officially designated by our government as the day on which we give thanks to Almighty God for the many blessings that He has bestowed upon us. This year, the holiday will be celebrated on November 26 th. One of the nicer traditions that our St. Vladimir parish has is to annually have a parish family Thanksgiving Dinner. This dinner is always held on the Sunday before Thanksgiving on November 22 nd this year. On that day, there will be one bilingual Divine Liturgy at 9:00 a.m. At the Liturgy, we will be honored to have Mr. Paul Findley, director of St. Herman Orthodox House of Hospitality in Cleveland deliver the sermon. Also at the Liturgy, a special collection will be taken for the poor and needy and will be given to St. Herman s. The dinner will take place immediately following the Liturgy. No tickets are needed in order to attend. However, a basket will be available on the buffet table for your free will offerings. Let us all gather at the Liturgy and then attend the dinner. Please invite a family member and friend to join you. For 28 years our parish has brought the message of Christmas to our elderly parishioners over the radio and, now, throughout the world via internet. With Thanksgiving Day rapidly approaching, it is time to think of the poor and needy of our community by supporting our annual Canned Food and Dried Products Drive. This year, our Brotherhood is in charge of this worthy project. Special boxes will be place in the church vestibule. All donations will go to St. Herman Orthodox House of Hospitality in Cleveland. Please support this worthy project. Parents are especially reminded to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to teach their children to care for the less fortunate by having them bring their donations to the church. Please note that we have resumed making pyrohy every week until Christmas. As always, new volunteers are needed and welcomed.
