From the East Fraternal Greetings Brethren, Firstly Thanks for making our third annual fish fry a big success on the 12 th of September 2015 at Venice lodge. A big special thanks goes to W:. Lou Kelly for providing the fish and to his Lady Jean for the outstanding homemade hush puppies. I would also like to thank all the brethren who participated in the setup and clean up. A job extremely completed well. Thanks everyone for your support. We had an extremely busy evening at our last communication on September 21 st as all the brethren who attended will attest to. I thank the brethren for their support and the turnout. The evening started with a wonderful dinner provided by our one and only Lady Deb Sims. Thank you Lady Deb. After the meal it was with a heavy heart that I had to make a Widow s Pin presentation to the widow of our esteemed member Br. Robert Strayer Sr. Mrs. Strayer attended with her family. She will always be in our hearts and prayers. The brethren then received a presentation from Merritt Reality on the proposed offer of purchasing the lodge property. This was followed up in open lodge with a discussion and vote to form a committee to use all due diligence, and consider feasibility of any offer made to the lodge. The committee will report back to the brethren. After lodge was opened 6 Brothers gave their MM Proficiencies they were: Br s Micah Wemes, John Campbell, Donnie Kidwell, Darren Bracken, Adam, Kendall, and Justin Letner. Led by W:. Lou Kelly, their instructor and mentor. The brothers gave an excellent proficiency and it was accepted by the brethren present at the stated meeting. I thank the MM s for a job well done. W:. Lou worked tirelessly to have the brethren ready and it showed. Thank you W: Lou for all that you do for the lodge. All the NEW MM s received their Lambskin Aprons presented by R:.W:. John Wermann. Also that night three brothers received their 25 year pins and one brother his 55 yr. pin. They were Br. Jesus Cabalo (55 year pin), Br. John Winters, BR. John Coffey, and R:.W:. Steve Clark (25 year pins). The ceremony was conducted by R:.W:. John Wermann. Thank you R:.W:. for a presentation very well done. I also would like to congratulate the recipient s for their outstanding long service to Masonry. Thank you brothers. I would like to make our dinner meeting on October 19 th a military appreciation night. If our brethren who have served in the military can wear some or all of their military wear, such as medals, parts of uniforms or full uniforms; this would be excellent. W:. Lou Ortt will complete a special flag ceremony to mark the occasion. All who have served their country, please try to attend. Or attend to thank the brethren who have served. This will be a special might for all. Also, in October we have the Sun Fiesta, an important fund raising event on Friday the 16 th, Saturday the 17 th, and Sunday the 18 th. I have many open spots, and remember just like last year, these will only be 4 hour periods, so let s have fun and raise much needed funds for the lodge. This is very important to our lodge so I would appreciate all the help we can get. I have sent out a request for assistance, but I used my Irish Calendar! The dates should be as shown above. Importantly, the slots that are not being filled are for set up and tear down. This takes time and remember, many hands make light work? I still need more volunteers. Please see our calendar for other events and venues. Keep all our sick and distress brethren in your prayers. Fraternally, W:. M:. Derek Lynn Worshipful Master 4

From the West Brethren, First off, I am pleased to report that the fish fry went very well. There was a lot of work done but we also had a lot of laughs. A special thanks goes out to W :.Lou Kelly, W:.M:.Lynn,,W:. White, Br s.scott Steelman, Gene Scheuring, John Greene and all the Br s who worked and supported it. I would like to congratulate Br s Kendall, Letner, Kidwell, Campbell, Weems and Bracken on the great job returning their Master Mason Catechism on the 21 st headed up by W:. Kelly; who did an outstanding job getting the brothers ready. It was a pleasure sitting back and listening to W:. Kelly and the brothers. A job well done! The Sun Fiesta is right around the corner as well. Coming up on the 16 th,17 th and 18 th which, as you all know, is a big fundraiser for the lodge. Please come out and help. We always have a good time with lots of laughs. Please contact me at baltimore711@yahoo.com or W:.M:. Derek Lynn. petamaka77@gmail.com or JW Scott Steelman @ grayfoxwsffws@verizon.net if you can help out. Fraternally, Mark Baltimore SW 5

From The South Brethren, I hope everyone is enjoying the fall, even though it still feels like summer. Cooler weather is on the way! Thanks for making our third annual fish fry a big success! Special thanks goes to W:. Lou Kelly for providing the fish and to his Lady Jean for the outstanding homemade hush puppies! Special thanks also to our Sr. Warden Mark Baltimore for helping with everything from prepping to cooking the hush puppies! Thanks also to everyone who helped serve the meals and clean up afterwards. Brother John Greene headed up that group. Looking forward to our next meal in October: filet of vulture, eye of newt goulash, fried bat wings and for dessert snail tails smothered with black icing. Only kidding, that doesn t sound like anything Deb would prepare. Just want to wish everyone a Happy Halloween!! I also want to congratulate our newest Master Masons who did an outstanding job in their Catechism give-back last month! Our next family dinner will be held at the Lodge on Monday, October 19th, starting at 6:00 pm. Remember, our Gourmet Chef, Deb Sims is back!! (And this meal is the real deal!!) See you in the Lodge for some great food and equally great fellowship. Fraternally, Scott D. Steelman, Junior Warden Family Dinner Menu 3 rd Monday of the Month Stuffed Pork Chops, Sweet Potatoes, Green Beans, Cornbread and Dessert Hot Coffee and Iced Tea Charity of The Month All Faiths Food Bank 6

THE HIDDEN LESSONS FROM RITUIAL WORK So many times we seem to look at Ritual Work as not being that important, and that it doesn't have to be done that well. We feel that just need to have more Masons for our Lodges. If we fail to share the teachings properly, who do you think loses? I would like to have you think back to that first night, it could have been a warm or cool night that we all share. That night we were so apprehensive, or for the sake of better words, confused as to what was going to happen. Those first words you heard said at the Lodge door, asking questions and wanting answers of you, and how you were treated was only the start of your Masonic life. That life that leads most of us on a continuous journey of Masonic travel the rest of our lives. For some of us, who had to memorize the Degree and Obligations, we share something that no one else can understand. This task of learning them that we choose to do, and we did. This struggle teaches us what we all can do with hard work and a true desire to accomplish things. So many times I have listened to the lectures, and still I find them as interesting as the first time I heard them. Every time I hear them, I find a new perspective that I have missed before. I fear for those that do not choose to listen to them in this way, as they will never find the lessons that are taught there in Masonry. And as for those that give those grand lectures, they learn as well. They learn how it feels to give that perfect lecture and also when they don't get it perfectly right! Most of the time just stopping for a moment to think or to taking a breath. I think we can all learn hidden lessons here too. How we should overlook everyone's little mistakes that we all make in life. Also to remember sometimes the best intentions go wrong by accident. "Value Your Word" For What Worth Hath a Liar! 8
