I have to choose to believe that Jesus, and only Jesus, could and did take my punishment for sin. Acts 16:31, Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved. I must admit I have done wrong and deserve to be punished. Romans 3:23, For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. I must believe that Jesus died in my place and took my punishment. God has promises for His children. Hebrews 13:5b-6, For He has said, I will never leave you nor forsake you. So we can confidently say: The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me? God wants Christians to GROW. 2 Corinthians 5:17, Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
