We are God's Creation Part 2 by Victor Torres Hello children. Last time we learned from part 1 of this study that our Lord Jesus Christ is the first creation of God the Father. Then our Lord created the following: First day: darkness and light Second day: the sky that divided the waters above it and below it Third day: dry land and plants. We also learned that He called the waters below the sky sea. Today, we will continue to learn how the Lord God made heaven and earth, the sea and everything in them in six days: Exo 20:11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy. We also learned that days start with night then followed by day. This is the way God sees it in His creation. We also learned that He did not only create the things that we see, but He also created spirits, powerful beings that we cannot see. He created both good and evil spirits. Pro 16:4 The LORD hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil. Now let's look at what He created in the fourth day: Gen 1:14 And God said, "Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night. And let them be for signs and for seasons, and for days and years, Gen 1:15 I command them to shine on the earth." And that's what happened.
Gen 1:16 God made two powerful lights, the brighter one to rule the day and the other to rule the night. He also made the stars. Gen 1:17 Then God put these lights in the sky to shine on the earth, Gen 1:18 to rule day and night, and to separate light from darkness. God looked at what he had done, and it was good. Gen 1:19 Evening came and then morning-that was the fourth day.
So He created the moon, the sun and the stars on the fourth day. But wait a minute. Does that mean He created the earth first and then the moon, the sun and the stars after that? Yes, that's what it means. What this should teach us kids is that God is not limited by anything. He is in control of everything. He controls the weather. Remember we learned that He didn't make it rain until the flood of Noah? He controls the heavenly bodies. Isa 45:11 I am the LORD, the Creator, the holy God of Israel. Do you dare question me about my own nation or about what I have done? Isa 45:12 I created the world and covered it with people; I stretched out the sky and filled it with stars.
He controls everything we can see and the spirits called angels which we can't see. Gen 18:14 Is any thing too hard for the LORD?... Eph 1:11 In Christ we were chosen to be God's people. God had already planned for us to be his people, because that is what he wanted. And he is the one who makes everything agree with what he decides and wants. That is why you always hear us say, Lord willing. Whatever the Lord wants to happen will happen. And whatever the Lord does not want to happen will not happen. That is also why no matter how impossible something seems to be, we need to ask God, and He will give it to us if He wants to. Luk 1:37 For there is nothing that God cannot do." 1) What did God create in the fourth day? 2) Which one did He have rule the night? 3) Which one did He have rule the day? 4) What does rule mean? 5) Which one can God control? a) people b) animals c) spirits or d) all of the above (answers below)
Gen 1:20 God said, "I command the ocean to be full of living creatures, and I command birds to fly above the earth."
Gen 1:21 So God created the great sea creatures and every living creature that moves, with which the waters swarm, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. Gen 1:22 And God blessed them, saying, "Be fruitful and multiply and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth." Gen 1:23 And there was evening and there was morning, the fifth day. 6) So what did God create on the fifth day? 7) What does swarm mean? 8) Can you name some of the birds mentioned in the bible? 9) Can you name some of the great sea creatures that God has created? 10) Can you name some of the fishes that God has created? (answers below)
Now let us look at what God created on the sixth day. Gen 1:24 And God said, "Let the earth bring forth living creatures according to their kinds livestock and creeping things and beasts of the earth according to their kinds." And it was so. Gen 1:25 And God made the beasts of the earth according to their kinds and the livestock according to their kinds, and everything that creeps on the ground according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. So in the sixth day, God created all the land animals. He also created man on the same day. We will look at how God created humans next time, Lord willing. But for now, let us see what God gave man and all animals to eat in the beginning. Gen 1:29 And God said, "Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit. You shall have them for food. Gen 1:30 And to every beast of the earth and to every bird of the heavens and to everything that creeps on the earth, everything that has the breath of life, I have given every green plant for food." And it was so.
See that kids, God is in control of all His creation including humans and animals. In Genesis 1:29 and 30, we learn that humans and animals were only given plants for food. So that's what they ate! That changed only after the flood of Noah. Now we know why the animals did not eat each other in the ark. And yes, dinosaurs were created by God in the same day He created Adam and Eve, on the sixth day. And now we know why the dinosaurs didn't eat them! They were herbivores. 11) What are herbivores? 12) What are the other types of animals based on what they eat? Exo 20:11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy. So let's have a quick look at how God created the heaven and earth, the sea and all that is in them in six days: First day: darkness and light Second day: the sky that divided the waters above it and below it Third day: dry land and plants Fourth day: sun, moon, stars Fifth day: animals that live on water, birds Sixth day: land animals, humans Dear children, what I and your parents are teaching you is the truth regarding our powerful and loving God who created us. There are many people today who don't believe this truth but instead believe in senseless stories (stories that doesn't make sense). 2Ti 4:3 The time is coming when people won't listen to good teaching. Instead, they will look for teachers who will please them by telling them only what they are itching to hear. 2Ti 4:4 They will turn from the truth and eagerly listen to senseless stories. One story today that doesn't make sense is called evolution. This story says that God did not create us and all the animals and plants but instead we came from one kind of life form around 3 and a half billion years ago. This life form then changed into 3 different kinds of life form by passing a different trait to its children. Then the children had children of their own and passed a different trait, and this repeated over long periods of time, millions of years they say, and then finally, they say, a different animal or plant is born. Trait is something that you get from your parents that they also have. So if you are a baby fish, you will also have gills to breath on water, fins and a tail to move on water, like your parents. If you are a baby human, you will not have gills but
will instead have lungs to breath on land. You will not have fins and a tail, but will instead have legs and feet to move on land, like your parents. This is what the bible teaches: Gen 1:21 So God created the great sea creatures and every living creature that moves, with which the waters swarm [including the fishes], according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. According to their kinds means a baby fish will always come from fish parents and a baby human will always come from human parents. So if someone tells you that a fish will one day become a human after millions of years, will you believe them or will you politely tell them that doesn't make sense? Of course it doesn't make sense. We should always thank our parents who teaches us the truth in the Bible. We should always remember them so that we won't believe people who say God is not real and the Bible is not true. We should never argue with people who don't believe what we believe but we must be always ready to tell them what we believe if they ask. 1Ti 6:20 Timothy, God has trusted you with many things. Keep these things safe. Stay away from people who talk about useless things that are not from God and who argue against you with a "knowledge" that is not knowledge at all.
