CONSISTENTLY SPEAKING WORDS OF LIFE In the book of Proverbs we read, Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit. (Proverbs 18:21) A person s life largely reflects the fruit of his tongue To speak life is to speak God s perspective on any issue of life To speak death is to declare life s negatives, to declare defeat, or to complain constantly EARLIER THIS WEEK THE LORD REALLY IMPRESSED UPON MY HEART THE IMPORTANCE OF SHARING ON THE IMPORTANCE OF CONTINUALLY SPEAKING WORDS OF LIFE OVER OUR FUTURE AND OUR CIRCUMSTANCES In particular that we do not allow our circumstances to discourage us so that we continually begin to speak words of defeat and negativity over our life and future as we focus on the giants and problems in our life. Instead we must continually choose to focus on what God has said to us in the past and to live our lives in line with what He Has said in His Word For with God nothing will be impossible

Today I will be sharing about the importance of not living our lives based on how we see our circumstances but rather out of the eyes of faith as we begin to frame our future with what God says about our future in His Word AS I DO I WILL BE SHARING SOME THOUGHTS ON HOW WE CAN FRAME OUR FUTURE WITH WORDS OF LIFE SO THAT ALL THAT GOD HAS PLANNED FOR OUR LIFE WILL COME TO PASS FIRSTLY, there is power in our prayers. We need to pray into being our God given destiny We need to consistently seek God s wisdom and direction for our life to make good choices Jesus Himself said, And in that day you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you. Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full. (John 16:23-24) It is so important that we also continually pray in line with God s will for our life (as led by the Holy Spirit) When we do we can be assured of both God s willingness and ability to answer all of our prayers as we learn to pray in line with His will for our life. The Apostle John wrote, Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him. (1 John 5:14-15)

As we pray to God, it is also good to attach Scriptural promises to our prayers so as to help build up our faith to believe for the answers to our prayers GOD S WORD WILL NEVER RETURN VOID In the book of Isaiah we read, So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. (Isaiah 55:11) IT IS SO IMPORTANT THAT WE ALWAYS PRAY IN FAITH BELIEVING ALREADY FOR THE ANSWERED PRAYER AS WE SIMPLY TRUST THE LORD WITH OUR FUTURE Without faith it is impossible to please God In the book of James we read, If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways. (James 1:5-8) In the book of Hebrews we read, But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. (Hebrews 11:6)

SO FIRSTLY WE MUST CONTINUALLY PRAY FAITH FILLED PRAYERS IN OUR LIFE TO HELP SEE GOD S PLAN FOR OUR LIFE FULLY UNFOLDING When we add scriptural promises to our prayers it helps to build up our faith to believe for the answers to our prayers as we pray AND to stop us from getting back into continually speaking about our circumstances in a negative way after we have prayed SECONDLY, It is so important that our heart is always full of God s word if we are going to consistently speak words of life Jesus Himself said, A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks. (Luke 6:45) IT IS WHEN UNDER PRESSURE THAT WHAT IS REALLY IN OUR HEART COMES TO THE SURFACE IN THE WORDS THAT WE SPEAK For this reason consistently meditating on the Word of God is so important. It is so important that God s Word goes from our head into our heart

As we continually renew our mind with the Word of God and spend time meditating on the truths and promises contained in His Word, faith begins to arise in our heart as God s Word goes from our head into our heart This is why the LORD said to Joshua This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. (Joshua 1:8) WE MUST ALWAYS SEEK TO MAINTAIN A HEART OF FAITH, BY CONTINUALLY BELIEVING IN THE BIGNESS OF OUR GOD TO TURN OUR CIRCUMSTANCES AROUND. As we continually speak out God s Word our faith is built up. In the book of Proverbs we read, Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life. (Proverbs 4:23) For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. Eat and drink! he says to you, but his heart is not with you. (Proverbs 23:7) The Apostle Paul wrote, So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. (Romans 10:17) JESUS HIMSELF EMPHASISED THE IMPORTANCE OF MAINTAINING A RIGHT HEART AND NOT ALLOWING THE THINGS OF THIS WORLD TO CHOKE THE WORD IN OUR HEART

Jesus said in His explanation of the Parable of the Sower, Now these are the ones sown among thorns; they are the ones who hear the word, and the cares of this world, the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for other things entering in choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful. (Mark 4:18-19) SO SECONDLY, Filling our heart with the Word of God (Continually meditating on and memorising scriptures in the Word of God) helps us to maintain a heart of faith so that we consistently speak words of life and faith. THIRDLY, many people speak out negative words because of fears in their life and because they have taken their eyes off the Lord and focused too much on their circumstances MAINTAINING AN INTIMATE WALK WITH THE LORD IS A GREAT KEY TO HAVING GOD S LOVE AND COMPASSION IN OUR HEART AND TO OVERCOMING FEAR IN OUR LIFE God s perfect love in our heart helps to drive out all fear in our life. The Apostle Paul wrote, For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7) The Apostle John wrote, There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. (1 John 4:18)

The closer we are to the Lord the more we have His love and compassion for others and a boldness in our life to overcome the fear of man King David wrote, Delight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass. (Psalm 37:4) In the book of Acts we read, Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marvelled. And they realized that they had been with Jesus. (Acts 4:13) INTIMACY WITH THE LORD HELPS US TO HAVE A HEART FULL OF GOD S COMPASSION WHICH GREATLY INFLUENCES THE WAY THAT WE SPEAK TO OTHERS AND HOW WE LIVE OUR LIFE. INTIMACY WITH THE LORD HELPS US TO LIVE A LIFE WITHOUT FEAR AND LIBERATES US FROM TRYING TO CONTROL OUR CIRCUMSTANCES AND THE LIVES OF OTHERS FOURTHLY, with our Words we have the potential to greatly inspire others to be all that God has planned for their life With our words we have the ability to greatly encourage others to keep going on in life when they are going through great trials and challenges

WITH OUR WORDS WE HAVE THE ABILITY TO INSPIRE OTHERS TO DO GREAT THINGS FOR GOD Winston Churchill, who was the Prime Minister of the UK during the second world war from 1940 to 1945, inspired the nation of England to keep believing that they could win World War Two with his great speeches, even though initially it seemed unlikely In the book of Proverbs we read, A man has joy by the answer of his mouth, and a word spoken in due season, how good it is! (Proverbs 15:23) Pleasant words are like a honeycomb, sweetness to the soul and health to the bones. (Proverbs 16:24) HOWEVER, JUST AS OUR TONGUE CAN BE USED TO INSPIRE OTHERS TO BE ALL THAT GOD HAS PLANNED FOR THEIR LIFE, SO TOO OUR WORDS CAN BE USED TO DESTROY THE REPUTATIONS OF OTHERS AND TO GREATLY DISCOURAGE OTHERS. This is why the Apostle Paul wrote, Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers. (Ephesians 4:29) For this reason it is so important that we learn to walk in the Spirit on a consistent basis That we refuse to speak harshly and to react out of our fallen sinful nature (the flesh) by speaking words that have the potential to hurt and offend others

The Apostle Paul wrote, For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. (Galatians 5:13) For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this: You shall love your neighbour as yourself. But if you bite and devour one another, beware lest you be consumed by one another! I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. (Galatians 5:14-16) It is so important that we learn not to continually react and say things that we later regret. It is why James wrote, So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath; (James 1:19) Often words spoken in haste, though regretted, are not easily forgotten by others SPENDING TIME IN GOD S PRESENCE AND LEARNING TO REST IN HIM HELPS US TO WALK IN THE SPIRIT ON A MORE CONSISTENT BASIS James made it very clear that the tongue has great potential both for good and for bad depending upon what comes out of our mouth.

We see this in chapter three of the book of James My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment. For we all stumble in many things. If anyone does not stumble in word, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle the whole body. Indeed, we put bits in horses mouths that they may obey us, and we turn their whole body. Look also at ships: although they are so large and are driven by fierce winds, they are turned by a very small rudder wherever the pilot desires. Even so the tongue is a little member and boasts great things. See how great a forest a little fire kindles! And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell. For every kind of beast and bird, of reptile and creature of the sea, is tamed and has been tamed by mankind. But no man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. With it we bless our God and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in the similitude of God. Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be so. (James 3:1-10) WALKING CONTINUALLY IN THE SPIRIT HELPS US TO CONSISTENTLY SPEAK WORDS OF LIFE AND ENCOURAGEMENT TO OTHERS When we learn to continually speak words of life and encouragement and God s promises over our lives and the lives of others we see many great benefits and blessing resulting

IF WE CONTINUALLY SPEAK OVER OUR LIVES AND THE LIVES OF OTHERS, THE TRUTHS AND PROMISES CONTAINED IN GOD S WORD, WE WILL SEE: i) Life and vitality in all of our relationships. Jesus said, It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life. (John 6:63) THERE IS LIFE IN THE WORD ii) People being set free from fears and doubts to fully embrace their full potential in Christ, as we speak words of encouragement and God s promises in His Word over their lives. Jesus said, If you abide in My word you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. (John 8:31-32) iii) We will be more readily able to build good friendships in our life, iv) Our circumstances will begin to change for the better as WE ALLOW GOD S PLAN FOR OUR LIFE TO FULLY UNFOLD The Apostle Paul wrote, Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us. (Ephesians 3:20) WE JUST NEED TO CONTINUALLY LIVE OUT AND SPEAK OUT WHAT GOD SAYS ABOUT OUR FUTURE, and

v) WE WILL BEGIN TO APPROPRIATE GOD S PROMISES FOR OUR OWN LIFE AS WE LEARN TO CONTINUALLY speak words of faith in line with the promises contained in God s Word GOD WILL OFTEN GIVE US A RHEMA WORD FROM THE BIBLE (HIS WORD) WHEN WE NEED IT TO ENCOURAGE US. EVERY RHEMA WORD WILL ALWAYS COME TO PASS IN OUR LIFE IF WE SIMPLY JUST KEEP DOING WHAT JESUS TELLS US TO DO - There is always a blessing in obedience A Rhema Word is a passage of Scripture that the Holy Spirit illuminates in the Word of God, which often relates directly to our circumstances or situation, as we seek God for answers or direction in our life. A word in season. As believers we can position ourselves to appropriate all of the promises of God. The Apostle Paul wrote, For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us. (2 Corinthians 1:20) The Bible also makes it clear that as we step out by faith to do things that God is calling us to do, even though it may seem impossible, God will make it possible. In the book of Hebrews we read, Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1) THE APOSTLE PAUL WROTE, (as it is written, I have made you a father of many nations ) in the presence of Him whom he believed God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did; (Romans 4:17)

THEREFORE WE NEED TO SIMPLY CONSISTENTLY CHOOSE TO SPEAK OUT THE WORD OF GOD OVER OUR CIRCUMSTANCES AND FUTURE. WE CAN CLAIM PROMISES SUCH AS And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:19) FOR OUR OWN LIFE IN DOING THIS WE WILL CREATE AN ATMOSPHERE OF FAITH IN OUR HOMES, WORKPLACES AND CHURCHES. The Apostle Paul wrote, So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. (Romans 10:17) THERE IS LIFE IN THE WORD OF GOD WHEN WE MINISTER AND SPEAK IT OUT IN THE POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT ALL OF GOD S WORD IS INSPIRED OF GOD. The Apostle Paul wrote, All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16-17) WHEN JESUS SPOKE THE WORDS, LET THERE BE LIGHT. THERE WAS LIGHT (We see this in Genesis 1:3) In the gospel of John we read, In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. (John 1:1-2) And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. (John 1:14)

So too as we learn to frame our FUTURE WITH THE PROMISES CONTAINED IN THE WORD OF GOD (consistently speaking out the promises of God over our future rather than continually about the problems in our life), so too we will see God s plan for our life being established and becoming a reality. Jesus also said, Therefore do not worry, saying, What shall we eat? Or What shall we drink? or What shall we wear? For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. (Matthew 6:31-33) SO IN CONCLUSION IT IS SO IMPORTANT THAT WE CONTINUALLY SEEK TO SPEAK WORDS OF LIFE OVER OUR FUTURE, OVER THE LIVES OF OTHERS AND ABOUT OUR OWN LIFE AND CIRCUMSTANCES - That we frame our future by speaking out things according to what God says in His Word about our life and future, rather than speaking continually negatively about our life and future, out of our frustrations, bruised emotions, or based on how we see and perceive our current circumstances - This is a continual choice THAT WE NEED TO MAKE on a daily basis, as we learn to walk in the Spirit - I have shared on the importance of meditating on the Word of God and being intimate in our relationship with the Lord, to help us to consistently speak words of life and encouragement - I will finish with one final key. We must consistently quickly take every wrong and negative thought captive and bring them into line with the truth contained in the Word of God. The Apostle Paul wrote, For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. (2 Corinthians 10:4-5)

IN DOING THIS WE WILL PREVENT WRONG ATTITUDES AND FEARS FROM ENTERING INTO OUR HEART AND THE CARES OF THIS WORLD FROM CHOKING THE WORD IN OUR HEART As we learn to continually maintain a disciplined thought life, quickly taking all wrong thoughts captive, we will invariably end up consistently speaking words of faith and encouragement from a heart which is filled with faith and God s compassion.
