He built our first home and saw to it that we knew how to get financing. We were only 18 & 19 at the time. He was truly a fine man and I can still see him with that cigar driving around in his pickup. I know he will be missed but you can rest that he is in the arms of
Jesus. SANDRA & GLENN GODWIN, AUGUST 20, 2009 Mr. Reed was a gentle gian and a gentle man. I remember him as a family man. I still picture him in his pickup with a big cigar. I remember his genersosity to church's, the HOWE community and to those less fortunate. Simply stated: Mr. Reed was a good man. With sympathy to his daughters and family, Christy Wallace Owen CHRISTY WALLACE OWEN, AUGUST 10, 2009 Donna, Jennifer and grands, Leonard just wanted me to tell you how much of an honor it was for him to serve as a pall bearer for his dear and best friend. For at least 20 years of their lives they were almost inseperable, going to school at Warden, playing ball in the yard, riding the bus to school in Anna, then high school baseball, keeping the Weston road hot coming to Anna every night, Sunday night-after-church dates to McKinney, and the Semi-pro baseball team years. There's a story I've heard for many years about how Whimpy loved to go the Harlow house to play. There were ten kids in that family and Whimpy had only two older brothers. Anyway Whimpy and the kids played ball and every other imaginable game and he never wanted to go home. Everyday he stayed playing and playing until after dark. Then he was afraid to walk down the road to his house by himself. Some of the kids had to walk him home every night. How fond are those memories of the fun times for the whold family. We (everyone) loved Whimpy. And of course, Jenny was one of my dearest and best friends. Sara Woods and I still miss her and talk about all of our fun times. Please let us keep in touch and know that our thoughts and prayers will always be with you. Love--Judy JUDY HARLOW, AUGUST 8, 2009 Norman spoke often of Wimpy's dominoe playing, how equally they each hated to lose and how also equally they each rarely did lose. He also remembers Wimpy playing baseball with his dad James Dickey in Anna. Wimpy was just good at all he did, wasn't he? He leaves a fine family of whom I know he was proud and I know youall are equally proud of him. Rightly so. Our sympathy to
youall and God bless you as you turn to Him, His word, and each other for comfort. JOANNE DICKEY, AUGUST 6, 2009 I really can't remember first meeting or doing work for Mr Reed. My father, T. D. Green, did abtract/title work for him for years, so it was through the office (then Sherman Abstract Compnay) that I had the pleasure to work with Mr. Reed from my early teens to more current times. Wimpy Reed shaped title history in Grayson County and was alway a gentleman and gentle man. He will be missed. Margaret Grynwald and the staff at Sherman Title Company, Inc. STEVE, DONNA, SUZANNE AND MATTHEW REED, AUGUST 5, 2009 Wimpy Reed a giant of a man in many ways. A good friend with a great sense of humour who had a subtle comical way about him.
