OUR VISION We are a Local Church, with an eye for the Nations for the supreme worth of Jesus Christ. God has placed us in King George County to live and serve. Through hospitality we want to reach our community for multi-generational, multiethnic worship of the one, true God. We believe in the joy of God s sovereignty, believer s baptism, and serving others by following Jesus example of love, sacrifice, and compassion. God has a kingdom that will include every nation, tribe, people, and language. Our hearts desire is for unengaged people groups to know the joy of Jesus. We want to do our part as goers and senders to fulfill the Great Commission in our community and to the ends of the earth. God has revealed himself through Jesus Christ. We treasure Jesus as the focus, admiration, and joy of life. He is our only hope for salvation. We are created to worship and enjoy Jesus. All that Redeemer Church is and does is based on the supremacy of Jesus in all things; every ministry, service, and outreach is centered on knowing Jesus fully and worshipping him alone. 1

OUR CORE VALUES Joy in God Being satisfied through relationship with God. TREASURING CHRIST Discipleship Abiding in the Living Word through the Written Word. Prayerfulness Guided by God to do his will. LOVING THE CHURCH With faithful preaching framed in God telling us about himself and his gracious gift of redemption, we desire to be a community of grace and humility that shares together the joys and burdens of life as we seek holiness and care for souls. We understand that loving a person and wanting what s best for them includes: warning them of danger, providing physical care, helping with life and understanding of Christ, praying for them, and ultimately showing them that Christ is the joy and peace and hope that satisfies. LOVING KING GEORGE COUNTY AND THE NATIONS Having a Christ-minded lifestyle, fulfill our part in the Great Commission by sharing the good news of Jesus Christ with our neighbors and others for the praise of God s glory. 2

WHY KING GEORGE? Life is a gracious gift from God. All that we experience every joy and struggle and possibility is granted by God to his creation. God put a plan together before he created the world to give joy-filled life to human beings so they can worship and enjoy him. People everywhere, including here in King George County, need to hear this great truth. He made us to have lives that put him at the center. But God can seem distant and misleading, and this life can be strange and confusing. We have made our lives about us. We have forgotten God. Our thoughts and hopes center on ourselves. Our lives are complicated. At times life can be incredibly daunting and exhausting and other times exhilarating and amazingly satisfying. There are incredible joys to be had and deep sorrows to navigate through. The pleasures and pains of life oppose each other like fierce adversaries. It s like they line up and launch attacks at each other. There are times when the barrage pounds our heart and feels like it will overwhelm and destroy us. Things happen that we can t explain and we seem to exist without purpose or aim. The battle seems to rage without end. Why do things happen this way? Why is life so full of struggles and difficulties? Why do we seem to struggle with our thoughts and desires? Life does, and will, have struggles yet Jesus gives us what we need to turn to him our greater, everlasting happiness. He is the focus and admiration and joy of all people and all things. We were given life to enjoy and worship God through his Son, Jesus. 3

Through the local church, people hear this great message about fullness of joy in Jesus Christ. In a county of 25,000 residents, King George has approximately 30 churches with an estimated 9,000 members. This leaves more than 16,000 people who are searching aimlessly for joy and purpose in this life. ~ KING GEORGE COUNTY NEEDS MORE CHURCHES TO PROCLAIM THE TRUTH OF THE GLORY OF JESUS CHRIST AND REACH PEOPLE FOR THEIR JOY. ~ Our neighbors are in a perilous state before God and need to know the forgiveness and repentance given through Christ. The great work of the gospel has been spreading in our community, but more people need to hear this good news. We are planting in King George County so more will hear about the supreme worth of Jesus Christ and experience the eternal joy of his grace. 4

OUR LEADERSHIP JIM REGER Jim was called to ministry in 2012 and entered seminary at Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary. At the time, Jim and his wife were invited to be International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention missionary candidates while simultaneously Jim was asked to fill the youth pastor position at their church. The Lord led him to pastor the youth and build awareness and passion for serving him here and abroad. Jim stepped down as youth minister in Fall 2014 to complete seminary and pursue missions full-time. He then had the incredible opportunity to train pastors overseas as part of theological famine relief. Churches in the Majority World are battling false beliefs outside and inside the church, just as we are here. Despite the obstacles, our brothers overseas boldly proclaim Christ in difficult situations. Jim wants to spread the same passion in King George County for treasuring Jesus Christ and proclaiming him as the focus, admiration, and joy of life. Jim graduated from LBTS in May 2016 with a Masters of Divinity degree. He served in the US Marine Reserves, with a tour in Iraq, and was a corporate executive for 14 years. He has been married to his wife, Christian, since 2000, and they have 5 children. 10

OUR PARTNERSHIPS COVENANT COMMUNITY CHURCH our sending church We believe God has brought us into a covenant with Himself and with one another by His grace. We rejoice in the loving gifts God has given us of Himself and each other. As a covenant community, we seek to live in the light of the gospel of Jesus, under His Lordship, in obedience to the Bible, and in loving relationship with each other. STAFFORD BAPTIST CHURCH Stafford Baptist Church exists by the grace of God and for the glory of God. This is our ultimate purpose in the way that we think and the things that we do. We believe that God is glorified by saving people for Himself through the proclamation of the Gospel. Our goal is to glorify Him by proclaiming His greatness and worth in Christ, and to enjoy Him through Christ. PILLAR CHURCH OF STAFFORD As part of the Praetorian Project, a gospel effort to have a like-minded church planted at every US Marine Corps installation around the world, Pillar Church of Stafford is a growing community of Christians dedicated to knowing Jesus and making Him known. 11
