Westminster Presbyterian Church Sunday, May 27, 2018 WPC exists to develop in ourselves and others a passion for the glory of God and the preeminence of Christ in all of life and in all the world, as revealed in the infallible, inerrant Word of God alone.

The Lord s Day May 27, 2018 10:15 a.m. The Prelude Greetings and Announcements The Call to Worship After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb! (Revelation 7:9-10) * Song Glorious Day One day when heaven was filled with His praises, one day when sin was as black as could be, Jesus came forth to be born of a virgin, dwelt among men my example is He The Word became flesh and the light shined among us, His glory revealed Living He loved me, dying He saved me, buried He carried my sins far away Rising He justified freely forever, one day He's coming, O glorious day, O glorious day One day they led Him up Calv'ry's mountain, one day they nailed Him to die on a tree, Suffering anguish despised and rejected, bearing our sins my Redeemer is He The hand that healed nations stretched out on a tree and took the nails for me One day the grave could conceal Him no longer, one day the stone rolled away from the door. Then He arose over death He had conquered, now is ascended my Lord evermore Death could not hold Him, the grave could not keep Him from rising again One day the trumpet will sound for His coming, one day the skies with His glories will shine Wonderful day my beloved one bringing, my Savior Jesus is mine x2 It will not be a glorious day for all, however. It will be a day of terror for many, a day when God will be glorified, for sure, but a day reckoning with no escape or refuge before the face of him before whom no creature is hidden from his sight, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give an account. (Hebrews 4:13) 2

Hymn Lo! He Comes with Clouds Descending Wesley, Cennick Lo, He comes with clouds descending, once for favored sinners slain; Thousand thousand saints attending, swell the triumph of His train; Alleluia! Alleluia! God appears on earth to reign. Every eye shall now behold Him, robed in dreadful majesty; Those who set at naught and sold Him, pierced and nailed Him to the tree, Deeply wailing, deeply wailing, shall the true Messiah see. Ev ry island, sea, and mountain, heav n and earth, shall flee away; All who hate him must, confounded, hear the trump proclaim the day: Come to judgment! Come to judgment! Come to judgment, come away! And yet the full hymn does not end on that note, but calling out: O come quickly, O come quickly, Alleluia! Everlasting God, come down! How can that be? Only by grace. Song O How the Grace of God Amazes Me! O how the grace of God Amazes me! It loosed me from my bonds and set me free! What made it happen so? His own will, this much I know, set me, as now I show, at liberty My God has chosen me, though one of naught, to sit beside my King in heaven s court. Hear what my Lord has done O, the love that made him run to meet his erring son! This has God wrought. Come now, the whole of me, eyes, ears, and voice. Join me, creation all, with joyful noise; Praise him who broke the chain holding me in sin s domain and set me free again! Sing and rejoice! Not for my righteousness, for I have none, but for his mercy s sake, Jesus, God s Son, Suffered on Calvary s tree crucified with thieves was he, great was his grace to me, His wayward one. And when I think of how, at Calvary, He bore sin s penalty instead of me, Amazed, I wonder why He, the sinless One, should die for one so vile as I; My Savior he! Now all my heart s desire is to abide in him, my Savior dear, In him to hide. My shield and buckler He, covering and protecting me; from Satan s darts I ll be safe at His side. Lord Jesus, hear my prayer, Your grace impart; when evil thoughts arise through Satan s art, O, drive them all away and you do, from day to day, keep me beneath Your sway, King of my heart Praise him who broke the chain, holding me in sin s domain and set me free again! Sing and rejoice! *Song Psalm 103:1-14,20b 10,000 Reasons Bless the Lord, oh my soul, Oh my soul, worship His Holy name Sing like never before, Oh my soul, I worship Your Holy name The sun comes up, it s a new day dawning, it s time to sing Your song again, Whatever may pass and whatever lies before me, let me be singing when the evening comes 3

You re rich in love and You re slow to anger; Your name is great and Your heart is kind For all Your goodness I will keep on singing, ten thousand reasons for my heart to find And on that day when my strength is failing, the end draws near and my time has come Still my soul will sing Your praise unending, ten thousand years and then forever more x2 Offertory Prayer, Music, & Offering (The Member/Guest book: Please sign and pass to others on your row. Note the names of any guests or people you do not know and greet them later.) Ministry in Music Resuscitate Caleb Sevcik Here I am again despite my best endeavor, It seems no matter how sincere or even whether, I try to shake the sin that clings so tightly to me, That when I think I finally do it s right in the back of my mind waiting God show me now, please show me how that you are completing, A work in me I cannot see but won t stop believing. It s hard to feel Your presence when this world s so numbing, Cause even when I pray my thoughts are unbecoming, And when I sing Your praise I m lost in a maze of deadly distractions, So pull me out, remove all doubt and make me take action! The infinite dignity of Him who came gave me, An infinite worth and sparked new birth made my dead heart start beating. God help me understand that I m a sinful man, Who needs to be made new, only through You can I attain salvation salvation Round two the fight s brand new the second my eyes open. The day can cloud my way and shake what all my hope s in. If I m alone to fight this sin it means I can t win so I cry out to my Father, Come aid me now and lift sins shroud so I cease to wander Keep my eyes from wandering and keep my heart from straying to, The things that separate me from such a Righteous You. To know the sins I make small are exactly what nailed You, To the cross in my place so I could be made new. Keep my eyes from wandering and keep my heart from straying to, The things that separate me from such a Holy You. To know the sins I make small are exactly what nailed You, To the cross in my place to pay my debt in full (my debt in full) x3 4

Romans 8:18-25 * Song We Believe We believe in one true God, Father, Spirit, Son; One Church, one faith, one Lord of all His Kingdom come. We believe in God the Father, Almighty Lord of Life; Creator of the Heavens, the earth, the sea, the sky. And we believe in Jesus, the only Son of God; Born of the virgin Mary who lived as one of us. We believe that Jesus suffered, was beaten, crucified; He died and He was buried, entombed in darkest night. The third day rose victorious, ascended into Heav n Will one day come to judge us, the living and the dead. We believe in God the Spirit, one Church empow red by Him; Communion of God s people, forgiveness of our sin. Our bodies resurrected to everlasting life; To worship, love and wonder before the throne of Christ. x2 A Pastoral Prayer Dismissal of the Children (ages 3 yrs thru 5 th Grade at parents discretion) The Proclamation of the Word of God Behold the Kindness and Severity of God 5 Bill Tyson, pastor * Song A Mighty Fortress Nockels Our God is a consuming fire, a burning holy flame with glory and freedom Our God is the only righteous judge, ruling over us with kindness and wisdom We will keep our eyes on You, we will keep our eyes on You A mighty fortress is our God, a sacred refuge is Your name Your Kingdom is unshakeable, with You forever we will reign Our God is jealous for His own, none could comprehend His love and His mercy Our God is exalted on His throne, high above the heavens, forever He is worthy We will keep our eyes on You, we will keep our eyes on You We will keep our eyes on You, we will keep our eyes on You So we can set our hearts on You, Lord, we will set our hearts on You x2 With you forever we will reign, with you forever we will reign Our God is a consuming fire, a burning holy flame with glory and freedom

* The Benediction May God the Father, according to the riches of his glory, grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. And now, to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
